Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 328: Well Done
"Stop the car." Seraphina Sinclair felt the air in the car was a bit stuffy and shouted to Quentin Jennings.
"Sister-in-law, please bear with it for a moment. We can’t pull over right now since we’re on the highway. You know you can’t just stop on here, right?" Initially, the car could have stopped before getting on the highway, but as soon as Quentin Jennings heard that Seraphina Sinclair wanted to get off, he quickly drove onto the highway.
He made a signal through the rearview mirror to Desmond Fairchild: How about it, Master Fairchild, was I clever with this move? Impressed?
Desmond Fairchild discreetly gave Quentin Jennings an appreciative glance: Not bad, I’ll give you a bonus when we return.
Seraphina Sinclair was speechless and choked up but didn’t notice the silent exchange between the two men’s eyes.
On the highway, Seraphina Sinclair maintained her usual silence, not uttering a word.
Meanwhile, Desmond Fairchild somehow pulled out a laptop and started working right there on the highway.
Seeing his fingers fly over the keyboard, even Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t help but admire that whatever else might be said about him, this man was truly dedicated to his work.
"Master Fairchild, that Nina Kerr seems to have called me." Quentin Jennings glanced at the phone hanging in the car, displaying a call from "Green Tea Chick."
Seraphina Sinclair’s sharp eyes immediately caught the note Quentin Jennings had for Nina Kerr.
The note "Green Tea Chick" was indeed fitting.
But Nina Kerr wasn’t just a simple "green tea" girl; if Quentin Jennings could see that, how could Desmond Fairchild not? 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Answer it," Desmond Fairchild signaled.
Quentin Jennings looked reluctant, obviously unwilling to answer the call, but with the boss giving an order, what choice did he have?
He impatiently pressed the answer button: "Hello, Miss Kerr, do you need something?"
"Young Master Jennings, is Desmond with you right now?" Nina Kerr’s voice was always sweet and gentle to everyone; just hearing her voice, you would never imagine the disgusting face she showed in front of Seraphina Sinclair.
"Do you need him for something?" Quentin Jennings’ tone was clearly a bit disdainful.
Nina Kerr could easily detect the irritation in Quentin Jennings’ words, yet she dared not get angry at him and could only accompany her laughter with caution: "It’s actually nothing major. I just wanted to ask when he might come to see me. It’s been a while since we last met, and no matter what, I am his nominal girlfriend, right?"
"You know it’s just in name only, so don’t worry too much about it. If Master Fairchild wants to see you, he’ll come. If he doesn’t, don’t you understand the reason?" Quentin Jennings was extremely disdainful of Nina Kerr.
He indeed liked beautiful women, but not someone like Nina Kerr, whom anyone could have.
Nina Kerr on the other end of the line laughed awkwardly: "I know it’s all fake between us, but even if it’s going to end, I deserve a reason, don’t I? I agreed to play along with him initially, and he promised to help me secure the White Family’s inheritance. Does he want to back out now?"
Nina Kerr’s words sent a shiver through Seraphina Sinclair; it turned out that Desmond Fairchild and Nina Kerr were putting on a show.
Yet Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t understand how Desmond Fairchild dared to make such promises to Nina Kerr.
Was the White Family’s inheritance something he could just give away? For someone like Nina Kerr to get that inheritance was pure fantasy.
Old Master White was sharp-eyed, he was very aware of who could shoulder such a responsibility, and absolutely no member of the White Family’s younger generation could possibly be Nina Kerr.
Although Nina Kerr was ambitious and clever, a person with wicked intentions could never be allowed by Old Master White to inherit Diamond Island.
Quentin Jennings remained silent, so Nina Kerr continued: "Although I don’t know why he suddenly wants to break the deal, since I haven’t secured the White Family’s inheritance yet, the deal isn’t over, and I’m still Desmond Fairchild’s girlfriend."
"You’re overthinking it. We’ve already helped you plenty with the inheritance issue, and you can only blame yourself for not measuring up. Miss Kerr, I’m sure you’re well aware of your own dirty deeds. Do I really need to say whether you can get the inheritance?" Quentin Jennings wasn’t afraid to slap Nina Kerr in the face; the facts spoke for themselves, and he didn’t need to explain much.
Nina Kerr’s character was well-known to Old Master White, and even with all their effort, there was no way she could secure the inheritance.
Unless Diamond Island somehow became a Fairchild family asset, then maybe Nina Kerr would have a slight chance.
However, the current designated heir of Diamond Island was Jude Sinclair, President Fairchild’s own son.
No one would help an outsider seize their own son’s property; it just wouldn’t happen.
Nina Kerr didn’t see it that way; with benefits at the forefront, what family ties could there be? She believed Desmond Fairchild wouldn’t be so naive.
"I would advise President Fairchild to think it through; there are countless benefits to cooperating with me. Not only would it allow him to completely let go of a woman who doesn’t love him, but if Diamond Island eventually belongs to me, Nina Kerr, I would give up twenty percent of the shares to the Cloudsea Group."
Nina Kerr still didn’t want to give up; she was utterly alone in Bayside City, and the three brothers of the White Family were all revolving around Seraphina Sinclair. Without the strong support from Desmond Fairchild and the Fairchild family, she would have no hope of becoming the heir to Diamond Island.
"Twenty percent of the shares, Miss Kerr, you really are generous. You should discuss this matter personally with President Fairchild; I don’t have the authority to make a decision for him." Quentin Jennings sneered disdainfully, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now."
"Hey, I..."
Nina Kerr hadn’t finished speaking before Quentin Jennings heartlessly pressed the hang-up button.
There was nothing more to say between him and Nina Kerr, and he believed Desmond Fairchild had nothing to say to her either.
Who gave Nina Kerr the confidence to make such assumptions that Desmond Fairchild wanted to forget Seraphina Sinclair?
After hanging up the phone, Quentin Jennings turned to Desmond Fairchild, looking for praise: "How did I do, Master Fairchild?"
"Hmm, not bad." Desmond Fairchild maintained his usual aloof demeanor, his handsome face revealing no extra emotions, only a faint smile lingering in his long, narrow eyes.
Quentin Jennings answered the call quite appropriately; if he had answered it himself, perhaps Nina Kerr wouldn’t have said these things.
If Nina Kerr had said something inappropriate in front of him, it would have likely made his relationship with Seraphina Sinclair even more strained.
Now, Seraphina Sinclair probably understood that his relationship with Nina Kerr was nothing more than a transaction.
Desmond Fairchild then took the initiative to speak to Seraphina Sinclair: "Seraphina, actually I..."
"I’m not interested in your affairs, nor do I want to know anything about your relationship with Nina Kerr. That’s your business, but we are indeed broken up, so whatever you want to say, don’t."
Seraphina Sinclair still showed Desmond Fairchild no kindness. Even if there was nothing between him and Nina Kerr, their breakup wasn’t a lie.
Even if Desmond Fairchild had clearly told her back then that he had to temporarily leave her to ensure her safety, perhaps she wouldn’t be so resentful.
But from beginning to end, Desmond Fairchild hadn’t mentioned a word.
Until now, if it weren’t for Nina Kerr’s call, he’d still have her in the dark.
