Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 302 Spider Leaves the Nest
Lin Guo'er acted as if she hadn't seen Lin Kuang waiting for her. She simply smiled at Liu Shilin, making the latter wish she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. It was just too embarrassing! For the naturally shy Liu Shilin, this was an excruciatingly awkward situation.
"Should I head out first? You two can continue, and I'll come back in after you're done?" Lin Guo'er couldn't help but say, her eyes twinkling mischievously at Liu Shilin and Lin Kuang.
Upon hearing this, Liu Shilin glared fiercely at Lin Guo'er. You've already interrupted us! How can we possibly continue? 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Guo'er, stop messing around," Lin Kuang said irritably, glancing at her. "Shilin can't take much more of this."
"Hehe, what's there to be shy about? It's just a kiss," Lin Guo'er said with a chuckle.
Hearing this, Liu Shilin felt somewhat helpless. Compared to the perpetually bold Lin Guo'er, she was completely outmatched.
"Alright, Guo'er, what brought you here?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile. If he didn't intervene, there was no telling what mischief Lin Guo'er would get into next.
"Oh, nothing much. I just came over to have a look. Who knew you two were in the middle of this?" Lin Guo'er teased, blinking mischievously. "It's a good thing I came when I did. If I had been a few minutes later, I might have seen something not suitable for children."
Lin Kuang was speechless. This girl is too much! He shook his head and replied with a smile, "Of course, that kind of thing should be done at home. And even if we were here, the door would be locked, don't you think?"
"Hmm, that does make sense," Lin Guo'er chuckled. "I won't disturb you two any further. I'll go take a walk." As she spoke, she winked at Liu Shilin with a 'carry on' gesture, earning a fierce glare in return. Only then did Lin Guo'er leave with another giggle.
"Shilin, you've really found yourself a troublesome friend," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, looking at Liu Shilin's blushing face.
"Ah, that's just how Guo'er is, so straightforward and carefree," Liu Shilin said, her face still red.
"Alright then, shall we continue?" Lin Kuang couldn't help but ask with a teasing smile, looking at Liu Shilin's shy expression.
Upon hearing that, Liu Shilin shot Lin Kuang an unhappy glare. "Continue, my ass! Guo'er bullies me, and now you're bullying me too?"
"COUGH. COUGH. I was just kidding, don't be nervous," Lin Kuang said with a placating smile.
Liu Shilin gave Lin Kuang another annoyed look before sitting at her desk and busying herself with work.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang couldn't help but smile as he left Liu Shilin's office and headed to Lin Guo'er's.
When Lin Guo'er saw Lin Kuang arrive, she walked over with a smile and leaned in to give him a sweet kiss.
"Was that fun?" Lin Kuang asked helplessly, looking down at Lin Guo'er, who was now lounging in his arms.
"Hehe, it was alright. Don't you think Shilin is incredibly cute when she's shy?" Lin Guo'er said with a chuckle, winking at him.
"You're hopeless. You don't spare men or women, do you?" Lin Kuang said with a sigh.
"Of course. Everyone loves handsome men and beautiful women, so how could I possibly pass them up?" Lin Guo'er replied with a grin.
Lin Kuang was thoroughly defeated by her. Trying to reason with this girl is like playing the lute to a cow—completely ineffective.
After chatting with Lin Guo'er for a while, Lin Kuang finally left. When it was time to get off work, he picked Liu Shilin up from the company and drove back to her villa.
Meanwhile, in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of East Sea, six men were gathered: Chu Zhongtian, Chen Shaowen, Ye Tiannan, Wang Ya Hao, Zhao Shunyang, and Huang Zelun. In front of them stood twelve foreigners clad in camouflage uniforms and heavily armed—clearly mercenaries.
"Mr. Rex, we entrust everything to your Poison Spider. We hope you can eliminate Lin Kuang," Chu Zhongtian said with a smile, addressing the man in front of him. This was Rex, the deputy leader of the Poison Spider mercenary group. As one of the top ten most infamous mercenary groups in the world, dealing with a mere Lin Kuang wasn't worth their leader's personal attention, so a deputy was sent instead. Poison Spider had eight deputy leaders, and Rex's personal combat strength ranked in the top three among them, making him a considerable force.
"Don't worry, Mr. Chu. Poison Spider never fails. Once we are hired, we pursue our targets to the death. You can rest assured of that," Rex said. His gentle, sunny smile made him look more like a celebrity than a notorious member of Poison Spider.
"Excellent. With that assurance from you, Mr. Rex, we'll await your good news," Chu Zhongtian said, smiling.
"No problem, Mr. Chu. Before midnight tonight, I'll make sure you hear the news of Lin Kuang's death," Rex stated with calm confidence.
"Very well, Mr. Rex. We'll take our leave now," Chu Zhongtian said again.
"Of course," Rex replied with a smile, giving a slight bow as a friendly gesture.
With a nod, Chu Zhongtian left with his men. The group got into their Odyssey and drove off. The atmosphere inside the car was somewhat relaxed, as they all knew of the Poison Spider mercenary group and trusted their power to eliminate Lin Kuang. However, the expressions on Wang Ya Hao, Zhao Shunyang, and Huang Zelun were anything but cheerful. Recently, the stocks of their three families had been fluctuating wildly, leaving them frantic and distressed. Yet, they saw no sign of any major financial players, making it all seem like the work of retail investors. Such a thing should have been impossible with the power of retail investors alone, but it had happened nonetheless. The bizarre situation left them completely frustrated, but they were helpless. No one else in the car could help the three of them with this matter, and even if they could, they wouldn't.
The six of them arrived at Xiangya. Wang Ya Hao, Zhao Shunyang, and Huang Zelun were in no mood for fun and drove straight home. Chen Shaowen and Ye Tiannan, however, were always up for a good time, especially since they didn't have to foot the bill. The money was no object to Chu Zhongtian. As long as he could win Ye Tiannan and Chen Shaowen over to his side, he didn't care about the expense. After all, money can always be earned again.
Moreover, he had already used Chen Shaowen to connect with Chen Jiachong of the Chen Gang to start dealing drugs—a venture with enormous profits. This was also why the Chen Gang was preparing to make a move on the Eagle Sect. The Eagle Sect had become a threat to their status, so Chen Jiachong had to eliminate them. Otherwise, the Chen Gang's position in East Sea would be jeopardized.
