Following Lin Kuang's instructions, the two ended their conversation. Zhang Lianmei went to get ready, as she still had many things to attend to.

Feeling cheerful, Lin Kuang hummed a little tune as he arrived at Yang Ruoxi's villa.

By then, it was already 6:30 in the morning. Yang Ruoxi was in her training attire, practicing in the manor. Seeing Lin Kuang drive up, a smile couldn't help but grace her pretty face.

At that moment, Lin Kuang got out of the car, looking at Yang Ruoxi with a grin. "Tsk tsk, not bad at all. You look quite the part," he remarked.

"Hmph, what do you mean 'look the part'? I'm clearly very powerful. Come and fight!" Yang Ruoxi challenged with a shout, striking a pose like an ancient swordswoman. Her display made Lin Kuang burst into hearty laughter.

Yang Ruoxi had been in a good mood, but Lin Kuang's laughter instantly irked her.

"You jerk, what are you laughing at!" Yang Ruoxi snapped, her small face turning an adorable shade of red as she pouted.

"Uh, nothing, nothing at all. I'm just happy, and when you're happy, you laugh," he said, before bursting into another round of laughter, leaving Yang Ruoxi gasping in frustration.

"Jerk! Watch me teach you a lesson!" Yang Ruoxi said fiercely before charging at Lin Kuang, her palms swinging as she engaged him in battle.

As the fight began, Lin Kuang dropped his smile. After all, you can't fight properly while laughing your head off, and it wasn't like he was practicing some form of laughter-wing chun.

Twenty minutes later, an indignant Yang Ruoxi stormed into the main hall.

Needless to say, the young woman had lost again. She had been thoroughly outmaneuvered by Lin Kuang, who had also taken plenty of liberties during their spar, leaving her quite vexed.

Lin Kuang didn't mind, as he knew Yang Ruoxi wasn't genuinely angry.

When Lin Kuang walked into the villa, little Xinxin ran over, greeting him happily.

Lin Kuang held the little girl and chatted with her for a while before heading upstairs to transmit True Qi to Yang Ruoxi. He had to leave for the military base at 7:30, so time was tight.

After transmitting the True Qi to Yang Ruoxi, Lin Kuang hurriedly ate some breakfast and drove off.

At 8:00 a.m., Lin Kuang arrived punctually at the East Sea Military Region.

As soon as he reached the parking lot, he saw Yang Wucheng with a grave expression.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang stopped his car and walked over, a confused look on his face. "Uncle Yang, what's wrong?"

"There's been an incident in Nanjing. Someone infiltrated the military base and killed Okamoto Daisuke, but we didn't get any intelligence from him. The assassin completed the mission and then committed suicide. Now, the trail has gone completely cold. So, Old Zhang wants you to go over and see if you can uncover anything," Yang Wucheng said, his face heavy.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang's expression shifted slightly. Anyone capable of silently infiltrating a military base has to be a formidable expert. For such an expert to kill Okamoto Daisuke and immediately commit suicide... it speaks volumes about Okamoto's importance. Clearly, someone was terrified of what he might reveal.

Thinking this, Lin Kuang nodded. "Alright, I'll head there right away."

"Good. The helicopter is already prepared for you. You should go now," Yang Wucheng added.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang glanced at Yang Wucheng. "Uncle Yang, are you going too?"

"I won't be going. I'm swamped with things that need handling here. You and Old Zhang will have to manage things on your end," Yang Wucheng said, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"Alright, I'll do my best," Lin Kuang replied.

"Yes. The higher-ups are aware of this issue and have set up a special action team. They've already arrived in Nanjing. Also, they're not from the Lin Family, so be careful," Yang Wucheng said, giving Lin Kuang a deep, meaningful look.

At his words, Lin Kuang stiffened, a sharp light flickering in his eyes. "You think the special action team will make a move against me?"

"Not necessarily, but we don't know what they intend to do. Perhaps they even want to eliminate Old Zhang, since he has joined the Lin Family. You understand, right?" Yang Wucheng added, his gaze fixed on Lin Kuang.

Lin Kuang fell silent, understanding the implications of Yang Wucheng's words. "Okay, I understand, Uncle Yang. I'll be careful and won't let anything happen to Uncle Zhang," he said earnestly.

"Yes, I trust you. Now, hurry up. If anything happens, call me, and I'll rush over immediately," Yang Wucheng said, his tone heavy.

Lin Kuang nodded, then turned and boarded the helicopter.

The next moment, the helicopter's rotors roared to life as it soared into the azure sky, heading straight for the Nanjing Military Region.

Watching the departing helicopter, Yang Wucheng couldn't help but worry. Those people from the special action team had better not do something stupid. Old Mr. Lin is still alive. If they take things too far and the old man gets angry, nobody will have an easy time!

Inside the helicopter, Lin Kuang's expression was just as grim. He wasn't too concerned about the special action team; after all, they had no authority over him, nor would they dare to do anything openly. What truly occupied his thoughts was the matter of Okamoto Daisuke.

Lin Kuang frowned, his mind racing. Dinner at the hotel with Meng Zhao, Meng Hao, and Shi Yushan... and then this Okamoto Daisuke incident. Is there a connection? Right. Once I get to Nanjing, I'll start by investigating Meng Hao and Shi Yushan. Perhaps I'll find something on them.

Having made up his mind, Lin Kuang looked up.

An hour later, Lin Kuang arrived at the Nanjing Military Region. The helicopter slowly descended, landing on the training ground. As the helicopter came to a stop, Lin Kuang stepped out.

Outside, Chief of Staff Liang Kai was waiting for him. Seeing Lin Kuang disembark, Liang Kai forced a smile onto his face. "Instructor Lin, you've arrived."

Seeing the smile on Liang Kai's face that looked worse than a grimace, Lin Kuang had a bad feeling. "Chief of Staff Liang, what's happened?" he asked anxiously, his own expression turning grave.

"Just call me Liang Kai, or even Brother Liang is fine. No need for the formal title," Liang Kai said with a wry smile.

"Okay, Brother Liang, what exactly happened?" Lin Kuang asked again.

Liang Kai glanced at him and said helplessly, "The special action team arrived this morning and got into a standoff with our commander. Right now, they're causing a huge ruckus in his office, nearly coming to blows."

Lin Kuang couldn't help but frown. It seemed the situation was even more severe than he had imagined.
