Unscented-Chapter 141 - 82 She Has a Date With Jaylin
As soon as Murray spoke, the entire hall of the police station immediately fell silent.
In Aldness, there was almost no one who couldn’t recognize Murray.
He was the head of the Gibson family, a wealthy dignified family in Aldness. And he was the president of the Gibson Corporation. He was a legendary figure and a myth to common people.
Alex looked in the direction of the confession room and answered carefully, "Melissa and Claire are being inquired about." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Murray had always been a calm and composed person under all sorts of circumstances. This was the first time that Alex had ever seen him so worried.
It seemed that Melissa meant a lot to Murray.
"Let’s go and take a look," Murray said calmly.
Adela, who was standing behind Murray, heard the words and felt stunned.
She thought, What? Melissa and Claire are being inquired?
How is that possible?
Since Melissa could make a statement, is she alright?
What has Susie done? How did she miss such a great opportunity to kill Melissa?
"Mr. Gibson, this way please." The chief constable came over personally and greeted Murray respectfully.
Murray took steady steps and walked to the door of the confession room, only to see Melissa sitting there with a calm face.
There was a policewoman sitting in front of Melissa, recording her statement.
"Melissa." Murray strode in with his long legs, and a trace of concern flashed through his eyes. He asked gently, "Are you okay?"
Melissa looked up. Her gaze skipped Murray and fell on Adela who was standing behind him.
Thus, Melissa was sure that Murray had spent the last night with Adela.
She felt some slight pain in her heart.
"What? Do you expect something bad to happen to me?" Melissa mocked as she retracted her gaze.
Murray was startled.
He clearly felt the chill radiating from Melissa.
Murray wondered, is she blaming me for not going to Lover’s Lake on time?
She isn’t wrong. If I had gone to Lover’s Lake today, such a thing wouldn’t have occurred.
I would not have let Melissa go away alone to such a distant place, let alone let anyone hurt her.
"That’s not what I meant," Murray explained patiently.
Melissa lowered her eyes and refused to talk to Murray anymore.
Murray slightly narrowed his eyes and looked at the policewoman who was recording Melissa’s confession. He asked emotionlessly, "How’s the situation now?"
"I just finished recording the confession." The policewoman didn’t dare to be negligent and hurriedly said.
Considering Murray was accompanied by the chief constable, he must be a big shot.
Murray nodded and asked in a low voice, "Can my fiancée leave now?"
The chief constable and the policewoman were both stunned.
They could hardly believe what they had just heard.
They had expected Melissa to be significant since the president of the Gibson Corporation came to pick her up in person. Still, the truth that she was Murray’s fiancée shocked them.
Since Murry had personally come for her, how could the future hostess of the Gibson Corporation, the fiancée of Murray, be a murderer?
"Okay. Don’t worry, Mr. Gibson. We will definitely look into the case carefully and bring the truth to light."
Murray responded indifferently.
After Murray and Melissa walked out of the room, they happened to meet Claire who had just finished her statement and walked out of another room.
As soon as she saw Murray, Claire immediately ran over and exclaimed, "You are here, Murray!"
"Murray, today when I was by Lover’s Lake, Melissa pushed Susie into the lake. I witnessed the scene with my own eyes. How come you’re still with the murderer?" Claire asked, pointing at Melissa.
Melissa furrowed her brows and thought, she is so annoying! Isn’t she sick of calling me a murderer? Does she think that with just a few words, she would be able to turn the fact upside down?
She is such a fool!
So Melissa said, "Claire, I came to the police station for the same reason as you, I’m here to cooperate with the investigation. Please stop calling me a murderer, or I will sue you for slander!"
"How dare you!" Claire retorted, "I saw it with my own eyes, how could it be slander?
Then Claire turned to the chief constable and said, "Melissa is clearly the murderer. Why did you let her go? Why didn’t you arrest her and send her to jail?"
The chief constable was speechless. He was confused about what they were doing here. The chief constable wondered, Why is the girl accusing her future cousin-in-law of murdering? The more he thought over it, the more puzzled he felt.
As expected, the matters of the wealthy families were hard to understand.
"That’s enough, Claire. The police will be diligent in processing the case. Before the truth is found out, I don’t want to hear any rumors about Melissa." Murray frowned and said coldly.
Murray did not believe that Melissa would push Susie into the lake.
On the contrary, he believed in Melissa’s words that Susie deserved it.
Previously, Susie had intended to hurt Melissa in the garage, which was the best proof.
"Murray..." Claire bit her lip, feeling wronged. She looked at Murray in disbelief.
Now that she had spoken out to accuse Melissa. Why was Murray still on her side?
Murray no longer paid any attention to Claire. His deep gaze fell on Melissa as he said casually, "Let’s go."
Melissa looked at Murray and then turned to look at Adela behind him. Thinking of the phone call last night, she felt depressed.
"That’s unnecessary. I have an appointment with Jaylan tonight." Melissa looked for the figure of Jaylan.
Jaylin had accompanied her all the way to the police station, but now she couldn’t find him anywhere.
Melissa looked around and finally saw Jaylin on the phone in the corner of the hall.
"Jaylin, I’ve finished giving the statement. Let’s go." She said as she walked over to him.
Jaylin had just gotten done with the call when he saw Melissa standing before him. He stood up and smiled as he said gently, "Alright."
Seeing that Jaylin did not hide his love for Melissa, Murray was displeased, "Melissa, how dare you leave?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Under Murray’s icy gaze, Melissa and Jaylin left together.
As Melissa was walking, she thought, Since you have spent a night with Adela, you’re in no place to judge my life!
"Murray, let’s go back!"
"Murray, it’s time to go!"
Claire and Adela said at the same time.
Murray looked at Alex with a cool gaze, and his thin lips lifted slightly. "Go to the company!"
Alex shuddered under the grim gaze. He nodded and said, "Okay, Mr. Gibson."
Looking at Murray’s cold back, Adela was upset.
She thought, why is Murray so brutal to her? I love him so much, but why would he rather treat Melissa so much nicer than glance at me? How am I worse than Melissa, who is a suburb girl?
Furthermore, she is still alive!
And she was not even slightly injured when she walked out of the police station.
Susie is too stupid to fulfill anything successfully!
Adela clenched her fists and thought, Melissa, you’re a bitch. I’ll make you suffer someday!
