"I want to talk about something," Emily said in a small voice, she looked at Eros nervously, as she fiddled with her fingers.

"What do you want to talk about?" Eros put down the tea cup.

This room was so big when they were little, when they first occupied this room, but right now, this was a narrow space, where they slept together, even before he saw Emily as a woman.

They had been together for more than a decade and during that time, they only had each other to lean on.

"I want to ask about your decision." Emily had been thinking about it really hard and she couldn't shake this feeling off.

Eros took her to sit down on the couch, this was the couch that he used to sleep in when he was little, but right now, he wouldn't be able to curl his body here.

"About the decision to kill the alpha?" Eros spoke about that casually and this made Emily gasp and stare at the door and then at the window, afraid someone might overhear that. "I will know right away if there is anyone nearby, Em."

Emily should have known about that by now, but still, she was too tense to register that fact.

"Eros, do you have to do this?" Emily stared at Eros. "I am not afraid that you will kill the alpha," she shuddered when she said that. "But, I am afraid that you might get hurt. I don't want you to be in such a situation."

Eros stared into Emily's hazel eyes. No matter what they had gone through, her heart was still so pure and full of mercy, but Eros couldn't say the same thing about himself.

There was nothing much that changed about Emily, since they met for the first time when they were children and he liked her that way.

Because amidst all the nasty things, she could remain kind and thoughtful.

However right now, those traits couldn't be used in their situation. He needed someone to back him up and not add to his worries.

Eros forced himself to stop from going there.

"This is only a matter of time, Emily." Eros took her hands into his so she could stop fiddling with her fingers. "I can't be ordered around and that's not because I don't want to, but because that's my nature. Both me and Liam knew about that."

Eros was a lycan and for some reason, being given orders only irritated him.

Liam was so wrong to think that he could tame Eros, just because he raised him and let his human companion stay in the pack.

"But, this is too risky." Emily's voice cracked. This was even worse than the atbikai that Eros had to do to get the position of beta.

"Emily, you are not listening to me." Eros looked disappointed when he said that and this made Emily feel taken aback because this was the first time for him to give her that look. "I can't follow his orders any longer and Liam doesn't have any strong authority on me like he does toward the other pack members, because I am a lycan, not a werewolf."

Emily read a few things about lycans and their kind. They were indeed way stronger than werewolves, but there was not much that she could learn, because the information available about it was not much.

"Liam knows about that too and eventually, I will be a threat to him." Eros put his finger under Emily's chin. "Do you think he will let it slide? Or do you think we'll eventually develop a good relationship? The answer is no, Em. We will never have a good relationship like a normal alpha and his trusted beta. We don't have that kind of thing."

"You will lead a coup, Eros," Emily said desperately. That was something big. "Do you really want to be the alpha?"

Emily learned that Ariana's plan was already in motion and Colton also knew about this, the two of them talked two days ago and from what she learned, Colton supported the plan and he would gather all the warriors.

Unfortunately, most of the warriors that were close to the gamma were sent to the East Draghar and this was a setback to them.

Therefore, they needed to drag this plan out until they returned.

"I want to live." Eros looked Emily dead in the eyes, his look hardened and this was the first time for Eros to give her this kind of look. "We need to survive and for being able to do that is to be the alpha, so be it."

A coup was not a trivial thing, everything could go south and the risk was so high while Liam was not really predictable.

"Em, can you just support me and stop worrying?" Eros cupped her face between his palms and kissed her forehead. He could see the look of fear in her eyes when he was a little bit harsh with her. "That's all I need from you right now."

Emily closed her eyes and felt his lips on her forehead. He always kissed her gently on the forehead…

"I will keep you safe, Em. You don't need to worry."

"I need you to be safe too, Eros."

Emily stretched out her hands and pulled him closer to her. She kissed him on the lips…

"Hey! Wake up!" Skylar pounded her fists against the glass in front of her. "Oh, this sucks!" she grunted.

Vanesha didn't lie when she said that one of the doors would lead them to Norbeat, but even when she managed to find him, she didn't know how to get him out of that room that was surrounded by glass.

Skylar managed to get through the locked door, but she couldn't break the glass that was akin to a cage that held Norbeat.

He was in an old man's body, but for right now, he was under spell and influence, which didn't allow him to use his power.

Therefore, the next thing that Skylar should do if she managed to break the glass was to wake him up from whatever spell he was under.

However, before she could do that, she saw Aaron appear out of the blue, with a young girl, around the age of twelve, in his arms.

Aaron glanced at Skylar and then smirked at her, but he didn't pay much attention to her, as he put Flo on the single sofa inside that room.

"Oh, long time no see, Skylar, what are you doing here? I didn't think I would ever see you in this place." Aaron knelt down and held the girl's hand.

Flo grimaced when a bright red light appeared from the hand that Aaron was holding, she started breathing heavily and then whimpered.

"What? Do you want to come inside?" Aaron tilted his head when Skylar only stood there and stared at him. "You should tell me, I will let you in if that's what you want."

Aaron waved his hand and the glass door was opened.

"Come, enter the room, please," Aaron said politely, as if he had been waiting for this moment. "You don't need to be shy."

The door that was unable for her to break was opened with only a wave of his hand, but Skylar was hesitant to enter.

Now she could reach Norbeat, who was unconscious on the bed. He was in an old man's body. She didn't think he would have enough strength to run as fast as she could even if she somehow found a way out.

"Why? Didn't you come here to get him?" Aaron nodded his head toward Norbeat on the bed. "If you don't want him, then I will take him."

"What do you mean?" Skylar frowned. She hated being here, it should have been Knox or Gael, who dealt with the devil, as her power wouldn't affect Aaron at all.

However, Aaron didn't answer her question, he put his focus on Flo and when the girl opened her eyes, he smiled widely. "How is it?"

"It is so painful," Flo replied, she shook her head and her eyes fell on Norbeat. "It is a pity that Chaos managed to get the alpha. We shouldn't have taken him with us."

"But, we will get into a lot more trouble if Chaos can't stabilize the darkness in him. It is not yet time for him to go ballistic." Aaron ruffled Flo's hair, but she ignored it and stood up from the couch, as she approached Norbeat.

"I need more power, too. He is too powerful. I can't handle it." The feeling when Flo tried to suck Chaos's soul was akin to holding on to something that was too big, too heavy and too much for her to handle.

"I told you right? You are not yet ready for that. You still have a long way to go." Aaron followed Flo and stood next to her.

On the other hand, Skylar muttered to herself, as her eyes followed their every move. "What are they talking about?"

"But, I think I can take him." Flo studied Norbeat, the look in her eyes didn't indicate that she was an eleven years old girl at all. She was too calculative and callous to be called a kid. "Can I take him?"

"Sure." Aaron's face lit up and then his gaze fell on Skylar. "You can take her too." He nodded at Skylar. "Both of them are on the same level. You can practice taking them first."
