Chapter 549 SHE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN

"No, he is scary." Rhea insisted. She turned her body around and faced Sebastian. She looked at him with her blue eyes, which almost made him feel like having Knox stare back at him.

The thought made his stomach churn uncomfortably.

"He looked at me like this," Rhea said in all seriousness, while she tried to make herself look scary and gave Sebastian a mean gaze, which looked so adorable in his eyes.

"I don't know if he is that cute," Sebastian laughed lightly, but this comment only made Rhea feel sullen, as she pouted her lips.

"I am serious."

"I know, I know, I am sorry," Sebastian apologized earnestly. "You must be scared at that time."

"A little bit."

Actually, Rhea was scared of Knox a little bit in the beginning, but after he fed her and showed her a little magic, she was not as scared of him as before.

"Rhea is very brave. Why don't you sleep now?" Sebastian caressed her head and pinched her cheeks.

"Mommy said that she will read for me."

Sebastian remembered the look on July's face. She didn't even follow him to go out of the room. "What about daddy reading it for you? What story do you want to hear?"

"Ah! This!" Rhea handed him the book she picked out when July told her to wait in the bedroom. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝗯𝐧𝗼𝘃𝐞𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝐦

"Okay, let's read this then." Sebastian laid next to Rhea, trying not to think what July was doing right now. He didn't have any energy to console her.

But, truthfully speaking, he didn't want to console her at all.

Seeing how much she cared for Knox was already too much for him to handle.

Meanwhile, in the other room, July was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at Knox's sleeping face. She didn't know what happened to him nor did so Sebastian because he heard nothing about it, since he had been working in the military ground for the east draghar country.

Artzees country indeed grabbed a tight grip on this country because it could benefit them and politically speaking, it was almost like the Artzees country had full control over east draghar because they heavily relied on their military power in order to get rid of the supernatural creatures.

"Knox…" July took his cold hand into hers. "What happened to you?" She brought his hand to her lips and kissed it, as tears started to run down her cheeks and fell on the back of his hand. "Why are you like this? Is it Chaos? Does he know about our daughter? Will he come to take her?"

July was afraid, she was very afraid with this uncertain situation.

"Wake up, Knox, please tell me what happened." July lowered her head and then rested her forehead against his hand. "I am so desperate now."

She couldn't ask for protection from her brother and she couldn't come in contact with the devil, because both of them would only do something worse to Knox, but if it was true that Chaos was after her daughter, he would catch them sooner or later.

Why was life so hard?

========================

"How can you do that? What are you going to do?" Zuri was amazed that Coza could enter the protection wall that her grandmother had created without trying too hard; she didn't even use force to enter it.

Zuri watched how Coza walked closer to Chaos and brushed the snow off of his shoulders. The man was still in the same position, he didn't move at all and seemed like someone, who was just taking a nap.

"Try to feel the energy around the protection barrier." Coza stared at Zuri, while standing next to Chaos.

"I have tried that, but I don't know what I should feel, aside from coldness."

"If you don't feel it, it means you don't try enough," Coza said simply.

"I have."

"In that case, instead of arguing with me, why don't you try it again, so I can see how hard you have tried," Coza scolded her lightly.

This time, Zuri didn't complain anymore and tried to do what she was told to do.

She tried to put her hands on the barrier, the same way that Tia told her to, but still she couldn't focus. She couldn't feel anything.

"I can't feel anything. Maybe I am numb."

"Maybe you are dumb."

"Careful with what you say," Zuri was seething when she heard Coza say that.

"What? What can you do? If you are that upset, come and get me." Coza tilted her head and then dropped to her knees, as she stared at Chaos. "You know what? He is pretty handsome, though…"

Zuri narrowed her eyes, she got a bad feeling about the way Coza touched Chaos. She caressed his face and played with his long hair.

"Hands off, Coza," Zuri warned her, she was seething now to see the look in Coza's eyes. "Stay away from him."

"Or what?" Coza glanced at Zuri, as she leaned closer to Chaos and now, she was literally hovering above him. "Or what, Zuri?"

Fuck!

Zuri couldn't understand what she had to feel about this barrier, since there was nothing, but coldness, but apparently she needed to feel something. Like what? A spark? A jolt of electricity? They didn't explain anything about it to her.

"You have learned it for a few days with Tia, but right now, you are still clueless?" Coza scoffed. "I was not wrong when I said that you are dumb."

Zuri breathed raggedly, she was trying to keep her emotions at bay, but it was hard to do when this woman kept trying to provoke her over and over again.

"Stay away from him or you will regret it."

"I told you, you need motivation," Coza said and then leaned over to kiss Chaos's forehead, which made Zuri start seething. "I told you to concentrate, didn't I?"

Damn!

How could you expect someone to concentrate when you wouldn't stop touching and kissing their man? Zuri could feel anger coursing through her blood at the sight of her laying her hands on Chaos.

"Stay away from him, Coza, because once I get you, you will be dead and I am serious about that."

"Sure, only if you can get me." She leaned over and this time she hugged Chaos as she traced her hand down to his chest. All the while, she continued to smile at her. The audacity of this woman…! "Do you know why there are only women in this pack?"

Oh, that piece of story was the last thing that Zuri wanted to hear right now, she was truly pissed.

"No and I don't want to know!" Zuri snapped, she was trying to feel, but what?!

However, Coza ignored her reply and kept talking. "Because we don't need a man. We don't need an alpha in our pack, a man to lead us, since we can stand on our own."

"Yeah, that's why your number dwindled and within a few decades, you will disappear!" Zuri had never seen a pack with only thirty nine members.

"No. You are so wrong." Coza shook her head. "Because all of us are sterile and aside from your mother and you, no one will be able to bear a child, since that's not the purpose of our existence."

"Cut your bullshit, I don't want to hear that kind of story." Zuri glared at her sharply.

"You do know, right? That the first shifter in this realm was a white wolf."

Yeah, of course. She experienced it firsthand when her old memories returned to her.

"So, you do know that the white wolf is the companion of the God of destruction, Chaos." Coza leaned her head against Chaos's shoulder and wrapped her arms around his body, and this gesture was truly disturbing to Zuri. If only she toned it down and stopped touching him, she could have concentrated more on what she was trying to say. "You know all of that, right?"

"I do." Zuri gritted her teeth, she knew the story.

"We are indeed the companions of Chaos and also the protectors for him, that's why we are blessed with this protection power." Coza waved her hand. "And also, only one among us could kill him, which I assume must be you, right?"

She was right. She held the dark sword, which Chaos kept inside of her. She could draw it whenever she wanted, but the purpose of it was to kill Chaos when he started to lose himself over the darkness, especially when he was about to hurt her.

She did it once and she swore she would never do it again.

"I heard how your grandmother told you to stop him when he was about to go berserk. So, it must be you, right?" Coza said.

"Can we have a normal conversation? And stop latching on to him like that. Can't you sit properly?" Zuri was upset to see the way Coza hugged Chaos.

"No, until you can learn all of this." Coza waved her hand, indicating the barrier that she created.

"I am sure, I am going to kill you, Coza."

"In that case, it doesn't matter what I do, I will end up dead anyway, right?" Coza lifted her head and then turned her face, as she leaned over to kiss Chaos on the lips. "I want to see how angry you can be."

Zuri was stunned, she didn't expect this would escalate this far.

This was no longer about motivation.
