Chapter 476: The Three Who Remained

As the portal closed behind the departing Eternals, another figure stepped from the shadows of the chamber—someone Parker had almost forgotten among the thousands of blessed he’d collected. The woman moved with predatory grace that made even darkness seem clumsy by comparison.

She was vampiric in the most intoxicating sense, all dangerous curves and lethal beauty wrapped in skin that seemed to glow with inner moonlight. Her hair fell in midnight waves that caught nonexistent light, framing a face that was sharp enough to cut glass and beautiful enough to make angels weep. Full lips painted the color of fresh blood curved in a smile that promised either ecstasy or death—possibly both.

Her eyes were liquid blood, ancient and knowing, holding depths that spoke of centuries spent perfecting the art of seduction and slaughter.

She wore black leather that fit like a second skin, every line of her body a work of art designed to make mortals forget their own names. When she moved, it was with the fluid confidence of someone who had never met prey that could resist her. Even her breathing seemed calculated to draw attention to assets that could start wars.

"My lord," she purred, her voice like silk dipped in honey and aged in darkness. "The Draven Matriarch has claimed me, but my loyalty remains yours."

Behind her, Noctavine Vaelith Draven stepped forward, the Lord of Shadow Armies carrying herself with the dignity of someone who commanded legions of darkness.

"This is Liliana Darkrose," she said with formal precision. "Awakened from her ancient slumber by divine blessing, now elevated by your power. She has agreed to serve the Draven lineage while maintaining her oath to you."

Parker nodded, though his attention was split between the sensual vampire and the tactical implications of her presence.

Of all the thousands of blessed humans he’d collected—most of whom he hadn’t bothered learning the names of since he only cared about those who led the cohorts—only three had remained on Earth.

Liliana Darkrose, the ancient vampire awakened and elevated.

Cassiel, the girl of light who called Parker uncle, still adjusting her star-woven hoodie. It’s like her blessing had changed her whole personality to an innocent girl but Parker knew who deep her blessing went and didn’t want to send her with other Blessed even if Nyxavere hadn’t asked for her.

Then there was Elena Nightwhisper, she went by other names previous but now she called herself that, the necromancer whose spirits had grown into a personal army.

The fact that he now had two Elenas in his household—Elena the battlemaid and Elena the necromancer—was mildly amusing, but hardly his biggest concern.

"The champions," Parker said, turning to Noctavine. "Status?"

"Have not arrived," she reported with military efficiency. "Our intelligence suggests the attack has been postponed, possibly indefinitely. It seems today will pass without divine intervention."

Parker’s expression shifted to something that might have been disappointment mixed with anticipation. "Shame. I was looking forward to some light exercise before the wedding."

"Additionally," Noctavine continued, "the Shadow Army has detected dimensional fractures approximately three hundred kilometers northeast of Seoul. Potential infiltration points for outside forces seeking to breach Earth’s defenses."

Parker waved dismissively. "The Shadow Army and the rest of the Ether Community forces can handle that. They’ve been dealing with interdimensional incursions for centuries—they don’t need me holding their hands for every cosmic pest that tries to crash the party. Have the Zhangs with the Shadow Army go, you stay. I need you close with Scarlett."

He thought of his assembled forces—cosmic beings, elevated humans, Origin Family members, all of them capable of reshaping reality in their own ways.

"That’s the whole point of having powerful creations, isn’t it? They handle the day-to-day threats so their creator can focus on the big picture."

Liliana’s red eyes gleamed with interest. "And what big picture might that be, my lord?"

Parker’s smile was sharp as a blade and twice as dangerous. "If the champions aren’t coming today, then I can attend this farce of an engagement party without interruption." His voice carried dark amusement. "Some annoying nobody thinks he can steal what’s mine. Really, mortals these days—no sense of hierarchy."

Cassiel looked up from where she’d been quietly communing with spirits only she could see. "Uncle Parker, are you gonna hurt the bad man?"

"Oh, little star," Parker’s grin widened, "I’m going to do so much worse than hurt him."

Elena Nightwhisper’s spirits whispered possibilities in her ear, and she tilted her head thoughtfully. "The boy will likely die regardless. Tessa’s power level means she could eliminate him without effort once she’s free of whatever constraints are holding her."

"True," Parker acknowledged, "but I can’t allow him to go down that easily. The arrogant little shit thinks he can cuck the master of cucking himself. That kind of presumption requires... education."

Noctavine’s expression remained carefully neutral, though her shadows seemed to ripple with anticipation. "Shall I prepare the Shadow Army for wedding crasher support?" He knew she was trying to be funny.

"No need," Parker said, already thinking ahead to the chaos he was about to unleash on the Five Families. "This is a easy one. I’m going to destroy their entire world view with nothing more than superior economics and overwhelming presence."

He paused, considering the beautiful irony of the situation. "Besides, even if Tessa would eventually kill the boy anyway, where’s the fun in letting someone else have all the satisfaction? Some lessons need to be taught personally."

Liliana’s laugh was like music played on crystal made of sin. "Shall I accompany you, my lord? Weddings can be so... dull without proper entertainment."

Parker’s gaze swept over the three women who represented different aspects of power—ancient seduction, innocent light, and necromantic authority. "Actually, yes. All three of you. Let’s show these Five Families what real power looks like when it decides to attend a social gathering."

The vampire’s smile promised that this engagement party was about to become far more memorable than anyone had planned.

And somewhere in a mansion preparing for what they thought would be a quiet family celebration, the Five Families had no idea that the most dangerous being in existence was about to RSVP with extreme prejudice.
