Chapter 524: Chapter 524: He Trusts No One

Zhong Huashan nodded his head, but he did not speak. Actually, he did not really trust Xiang Yu. Even Ding Yongwei had betrayed him, which made it very likely that Xiang Yu had been bought over by the other side.

Otherwise, depending on Ding Yongwei’s shrewdness, he must have arranged many spies around; it would have been impossible for Xiang Yu to get in.

Thinking of these, Zhong Huashan grew even more suspicious, and the more he looked at Xiang Yu, the more he felt that Xiang Yu had been sent by Ding Yongwei to deal with him.

"I’ve already lost contact with the brothers outside. I can’t reach them," Zhong Huashan said very seriously.

Seeing the serious expression on Zhong Huashan’s face, Xiang Yu knew he certainly did not trust him. Of course, Xiang Yu hadn’t expected him to.

Just now, in the restroom, he had heard that Zhong Huashan had everything arranged, yet now he was claiming he couldn’t contact anyone—a clear case of lying with his eyes open.

"How can I get you out?" Xiang Yu asked.

Zhong Huashan frowned and sighed, "The area is full of Ding Yongwei’s men, it’s difficult to get out. Moreover, many brothers have now sided with Ding Yongwei; it’s not clear who can be trusted."

Zhong Huashan said this, somewhat sad, for those were once his brothers but had now become his enemies.

Hearing so much from Zhong Huashan, all of it was pointless, not the least bit useful. Xiang Yu knew, there certainly were still people of Zhong Huashan outside, but if he did not say, Xiang Yu couldn’t contact anyone outside either.

"So, what should we do?" Xiang Yu asked.

Zhong Huashan sighed again and shook his head as if resigned to fate.

At this moment, Zhong Qin could hardly bear it and then hugged Zhong Huashan’s shoulders and said, "Dad, are we just going to sit here and wait for death? We might as well rush out from here, the three of us."

Zhong Huashan affectionately patted Zhong Qin’s head, then shook his head and smiled, "There are too many people surrounding us; it’s impossible for us to get away."

Xiang Yu naturally would not agree with Zhong Qin’s suggestion, as the arrangement of people outside was also his design, but making a big escape with Zhong Qin openly was impossible.

Zhong Qin obviously felt some despair since Xiang Yu had come but was helpless.

Xiang Yu waited for Zhong Huashan to tell him the way to contact the brothers outside. If Xiang Yu could bring the brothers outside and then plan a sudden raid, it would be a piece of cake.

After all, the arrangement of the personnel here was very familiar to Xiang Yu, as knowing both friend and foe is the only way to be victorious in all battles. But the problem was, Zhong Huashan did not trust Xiang Yu at all.

"If only we had a way to contact the brothers outside, we could have them rush in with us," Xiang Yu hinted.

But Zhong Huashan was unmoved, as he sighed and indicated that he had no solution.

Seeing that there was no point in talking further with Zhong Huashan, Xiang Yu then took Zhong Qin aside. Zhong Qin was still pouting, looking very aggrieved.

"You stay calm here. I will come back to save you," Xiang Yu assured her.

"Really?" Zhong Qin perked up when she heard Xiang Yu would return. She trusted Xiang Yu the most; in her heart, Xiang Yu was omnipotent, even more capable than her father.

Xiang Yu nodded and said, "Before I come back, don’t cause any trouble. If Ding Yongwei wants to bully you, tell him I will come for him. Let him wait another two days if he dares."

"Mhm," Zhong Qin nodded earnestly.

After Xiang Yu finished speaking, he then approached and said, "Boss, I’m going out to bring reinforcements. Wait for my return."

Zhong Huashan also nodded very seriously and said, "Xiang Yu, you’re the only brother I have left. Don’t let me down."

Hearing this, Xiang Yu felt a wave of disgust in his heart. He had been sincere, but it seemed he did not really trust him at all. If it weren’t for Zhong Qin, he wouldn’t have thought of coming back.

"I’m leaving now; you two take care," Xiang Yu said, and then turned and walked towards the restroom.

The defense at the back was weak, Xiang Yu thought to continue his escape through there.

"Xiang Yu," Zhong Qin suddenly called out and then ran over to hug him, saying, "Please come back soon, I’m very scared."

Xiang Yu smiled and patted her shoulder before pushing her away and turning toward the bathroom.

Seeing Xiang Yu enter, Zhong Huashan hurried over, only to find the bathroom empty. He then noticed the window was open.

Looking out the window, he saw the quiet and menacing darkness outside with no sign of Xiang Yu.

Xiang Yu’s visit had been brief, no more than ten minutes, making it all seem like a dream.

"Dad, when do you think Xiang Yu will return?" Zhong Qin stood at the bathroom window, staring outside lost in thought.

Zhong Huashan sighed inwardly without responding, as he didn’t trust Xiang Yu. In his eyes, Xiang Yu had visited him today solely to extract information.

Now, having returned without success, they would definitely consider other methods.

But Zhong Qin trusted Xiang Yu a lot, and he didn’t want to shatter the little girl’s dream.

Through the glass, he saw someone under a distant tree deep asleep. Perhaps they could never imagine someone sneaking in and climbing up to the second floor through a window.

Zhong Huashan looked outside again, and after confirming there was no sight of Xiang Yu, he finally pulled Zhong Qin back to their room.

After leaving Zhong Huashan’s, Xiang Yu carefully left the villa. By then, Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan were growing impatient in the car.

It was only upon seeing Xiang Yu’s return that they finally relaxed.

"Let’s go back," Xiang Yu said directly.

Though Tie Zhuzi was feeling bored, he had no choice. He had planned to get some fresh air, but ended up sitting in the car the whole time.

The three returned to the rented hotel on the edge of town, and as they got out of the car, Xiang Yu suddenly noticed many bruises on the driver’s face.

"What happened to your face?" Xiang Yu asked the driver.

The driver just gave a wry smile and remained silent, but Tie Zhuzi stepped in, saying, "This guy wouldn’t stop talking in the car, so I gave him a beating."

Xiang Yu didn’t ask further and simply nodded before getting out of the car.

"Pack your things, we’re leaving this place," Xiang Yu said upon returning to the hotel.

"What’s going on?" asked Tie Zhuzi, somewhat puzzled. Everything seemed fine in the car earlier, but now they were rushing to leave.

"No more questions, hurry up," Xiang Yu said.

Their luggage was minimal, and they were ready in no time. The trio hurriedly left the hotel, not even bothering to collect their deposit.

Tie Zhuzi was truly confused and then asked, "Yu, who exactly are we afraid of?"

Just as the three turned a corner after leaving, many cars suddenly approached from a distance. These cars were all the same, in uniform color. On closer inspection, they were indeed the taxis.

The taxi driver from earlier must have called for backup.

"Dammit," Tie Zhuzi cursed, dropping his luggage and wanting to charge at them. He had watched the taxi driver become compliant from the beating earlier, and now he dared to call for help—utter lawlessness.

Xiang Yu quickly held him back. They were on a mission and couldn’t afford to cause trouble. After all, Ding Yongwei had many people hidden throughout the city, ready to act at a moment’s notice if they discovered Xiang Yu...
