Chapter 647: Chapter 647: It Seems Like Entering a Haunted Building

He Yuntian was furious inside, having done a lot of things for Wang Yingying and handled much intelligence regarding Xiang Yu, thinking he was already Wang Yingying’s man, only to realize how little she valued him.

Determined, he decided that after today, he would definitely switch allegiances and then bring people back to teach Wang Yingying a lesson. But right now, the most important thing was to teach Xiang Yu and his underlings a lesson.

Since Wang Yingying had instructed him to take twenty people with him, he proceeded with his team, also to prove that his judgment was right.

However, when he had been out for a while, the squad behind him did not follow. Confused, he looked back at the squad leader, who appeared to be waiting for an order from Wang Yingying.

Wang Yingying nodded at the squad leader, who then followed He Yuntian towards the front.

He Yuntian saw all this and was furious to the extreme, outraged that even a squad leader wouldn’t listen to him. Gritting his teeth, he continued walking forward.

Wang Yingying observed He Yuntian’s expression and scoffed coldly in her heart, paying it no mind. What could a jumping clown achieve, after all?

"Big Brother, we need to be cautious with this man in the future," Tiger said, standing beside Wang Yingying.

Wang Yingying just smiled and nodded, "Let’s get through tonight first."

Wang Yingying was a cautious person and then had her people use the cars as a point of support, arranging them in formation to prevent any surprise attacks from around.

Leading a squad, Wang Ze hid in nearby buildings, becoming nervous when he saw Wang Yingying being so careful.

Atop a distant tall building, Little Xuan lay motionless, his position perfect for taking Wang Yingying down effortlessly. But doing so might cause chaos among the men, leading them into a desperate fight with Xiang Yu and his forces.

"Brother, that traitor has taken people up there," Little Xuan said.

"How many men did he bring?" Xiang Yu asked.

"Around twenty," Little Xuan answered without having counted them exactly, just estimating.

"Got it."

Meanwhile, Zhang Dongxu sat across from Xiang Yu, staring at him incredulously. He had just realized that Xiang Yu was wearing earplugs, which were supplied by him and he knew their purpose.

"Was what you just said true?" Zhang Dongxu started to get nervous.

Xiang Yu simply smiled, "Why would I lie to you? They’re already coming up."

Hearing this, Zhang Dongxu immediately jumped off the couch and looked out the glass to the street below, noticing a few people were missing.

Just the two of them now, even if not many opponents were coming up, they wouldn’t be able to handle them.

"You really are my nemesis; what, did I owe you money in my past life that you have to make me suffer like this in this life?" Zhang Dongxu complained with a grimace.

Before meeting Xiang Yu, everything had been smooth sailing for him, having successfully taken over the business in several cities. But since meeting Xiang Yu, his misfortune had begun.

"I don’t know about the past life, but in this lifetime, you’re definitely going to fall into my hands," Xiang Yu said with a relaxed smile.

"You’ve done me in. Look out for yourself from now on; I’m not sticking around with a madman," Zhang Dongxu said before running towards the hidden elevator Xiang Yu had mentioned earlier.

"It’s already too late, you’d better just stay here and wait obediently," Xiang Yu reminded.

"I wouldn’t trust you, just wait here to die," Zhang Dongxu said as he took the elevator down.

The elevator was specially designed for Xiang Yu’s office and could not stop midway. The exit led to the back door of the hotel.

Xiang Yu did not stop Zhang Dongxu because he could not be entirely sure whether Zhang Dongxu would escape.

Xiang Yu stood up and walked to the window to look down, just in time to see Wang Yingying also looking up. Since the glass was one-way, Xiang Yu could see outside from inside, but the outside could not see inside.

But their gazes seemed to have met, facing each other like that.

"Today, you must die," Xiang Yu said coldly.

Down below, Wang Yingying suddenly shuddered without warning, as if she had a bad feeling.

"Big brother, what’s wrong?" Tiger looked at Wang Yingying anxiously.

Wang Yingying shook his head to indicate there was no problem.

"Otherwise, shall we retreat today and come back next time fully prepared?" Tiger felt uneasy, and seeing Wang Yingying’s serious expression, he always had a bad premonition.

Wang Yingying’s eyes were firm, his intent obvious. Moreover, he had already made his stance clear in front of Feng Lan. If they retreated now, it would be a loss of face.

Although he found Yuntian bothersome, he now had no choice but to let him lead the way and then see what feedback came back.

Yuntian, leading twenty men, slowly made his way upstairs. He felt very aggrieved; though he technically had twenty brothers behind him, he still felt insecure, as if these men were not there to protect him but to monitor him.

"You, come lead the way," Yuntian pulled a man forward.

The man glared at Yuntian, clearly unwilling, then looked at their leader. The leader was furious; they were brought in by Yuntian and naturally had a great bias against him.

"You’re the leader, so naturally, you should be in the front," the squad leader said mercilessly.

"You..." Yuntian gritted his teeth, almost exploding with anger.

Even though he was one of Wang Yingying’s men, not even the squad leaders respected him. His resentment grew. It seemed that without a proper lesson, these men wouldn’t listen to him.

But Yuntian had no choice now but to cautiously lead the group upwards by himself.

The entire hotel was eerily silent, as if they had entered a haunted building. He dared not use the elevator, only cautiously climbed upstairs through the stairwell.

The elevator was too restrictive; getting trapped inside would be trouble.

The entire staircase, starting from the first floor, was pitch-dark; they could only turn on the lights when they reached the top of each landing.

Yuntian slowly ascended, growing tenser as he went higher. Drops of cold sweat coated his palms. He began to regret stepping forward earlier; this was just attracting trouble.

Being at the bottom with a crowd had felt safe, but now he felt completely isolated. He was sure that if Xiang Yu and his group suddenly appeared, the twenty men behind him would abandon him and run.

What Yuntian did not know was that their every move was being monitored by Tie Zhuzi.

Tie Zhuzi sat in the control room, leisurely watching them make their way up...
