Apexion stood in the color ocean before his path, his figure suddenly started vibrating, the world before him slowed down, and billions of him appeared within a billion light-years of him. They flickered about. An instant later, he stopped vibrating, and the billions of him vanished.

Those billions of him were his afterimages as he explored his surroundings on a deeper level and tested his mobility range.

For one, he could not go upwards, no matter how hard he tried. He could only move sideways and downward.

He turned his gaze upward at the light that shone down upon him like sunlight piercing the black depths of an ocean.

"A radiance so powerful that it illuminates the origin ocean."

He muttered to him self as his starry eyes dazed, as a desire bloomed into his existence: the desire to take the source of that light for himself.

A second later, he vanished and appeared in the area below the eighth tier, and then effortlessly entered one of the law dimensions. Inside, he found that his comprehension of said law became hundreds of times quicker.

But these law dimensions had a disadvantage in that they would taint and assimilate the creature comprehending them if they were not careful.

He then gazed at the two pathfinders in his patheon for a second, who gazed at him with absolute submission, before vanishing and reappearing back at the eighth-tier region. His three aspects/clones then appeared beside him. They were still the same, except for the transparent crowns they adorned.

unlike his, theirs were positioned differently. The wrathful one's own floated above his head, but was slightly tilted to the left. The envious one's crown was wrapped around his right upper arm, and the lustful one's was directly atop his head.

The concealed envious one flashed into the distance with boundless curiosity.

Vash!

The wrathful one vanished and reappeared inside one of the grand law-level dimensions.

Vash!

The lustful one vanished and reappeared inside the false realm.

Vash!

As for him, he glanced at the fate bunny above his head and contemplated fusing with it. Suddenly, he frowned as his instincts told him not to. Many ideas flashed through his mind. He followed his instincts. His voice rang out as he ordered:

"Bloomed!"

After which, the bunny appeared behind him, floating a little bit above his crown, then morphed into a shimmering black star.

Shing!

He then sat down on his path as he worked out the stages of his 8th-tier rank.

The lustful one reappeared where the battle had just taken place. He scanned the surroundings. The vacuum had already returned to normal no trace of the previous battle. His bomb of envy had cleansed all trace of laws. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Suddenly, a pendant appeared in his hand. It flashed, then a stellar gate appeared. He stepped inside.

And reappeared in a domain of pure forests, with small winged creatures flying around. At the center was a wooden table with a billion-layered chess-like game floating above it.

He calmly walked to the table, sat down, and then calmly stretched out his right hand, took a rabbit-like chess piece, lifted it up, and placed it at another spot.

Tap!

The moment he did, eight wolf-like chess pieces that had surrounded the rabbit-like piece crumbled into dust.

Pash!

He then gazed at the smiling figure at the other end of the table and spoke in a deep voice:

"Your move!"

The Hanging Tree whose real form he could now see was the complete opposite of the warm and welcoming form he was used to seeing. It was grim and bloody, and if he didn't know better, he would have thought he was gazing at a damned one.

Hanging tree smile morphed into laughter:

"Good! Good! Good! I should have never underestimated you, oh, fateless one." As he laughed, memories of their last discussion flashed through his mind.

"You are being hunted by entities known as path Hunters… It would be best if you stay inside your realm while I take care of them."

"No need. I will take care of them by myself."

"Are you sure? I forgot to add that these entities are all at least middle-level 8th-tier, and they have successfully hunted pathfinders before."

"It matters not."

He thought Apexion was overconfident in his strength. Although he believed it wouldn't be a problem for Apexion to clash with two, or probably three, newly ascended 8th-tier entities because of his fateless nature, but when it came to eight of them… he had no chance. But evidently, he was wrong. Very wrong.

He had observed the battle from start to end, and almost every single action of the Hunters seemed to be in Apexion's calculations or within his schemes.

He deduced that Apexion's scheme started the moment he sent his clones into the outside world.

The envious and lust clones traveling so boldly it was to force the Hunters to split up, and the act of his wrathful clone creating a lot of noise in the Realm of Doom was to draw the attention of the Hunters.

Forcing them to split up, thus lessening the number of hunters his true body had to face.

For him taking a beating for most of the battle, the purpose of that was to allow his fate rabbit to secretly devour the fate that the battle was producing for his killer move: Karmic Retribution.

The Hanging Tree started to look at Apexion in a new light. He felt Apexion was dangerous and might even have the ability to fatally threaten him, a feeling he did not expect to feel so soon. Maybe in a million years, but not this soon.

He felt that he had made the right decision in allying with Apexion.

And just as he was about to make a move on the chessboard and explain something to Apexion, he froze as he suddenly lost all control of his domain. It was as if someone had casually grabbed his domain from his existence. His mind trembled as he thought of the type of entity that could do such a thing to a being like him.

An instant later,

Slice!

A ten-meter-long split seamlessly appeared twelve meters to the right of his table, and, an instant later, two ethereal figures calmly walked through the split. With each step they took, the most beautiful sound he had ever heard rang out:

🎼Dong! Ding! Dong!

His eyes flashed with recognition as he gazed at the figures and subconsciously muttered their titles in his mind:

'True Sound.'

Apexion's eyes shone brightly, and his existence subconsciously screamed at him as he gazed at the figures that suddenly appeared beside him. He thought he would never feel the feeling of death again now that he had stepped into the 8th tier, but it seemed that he was extremely wrong.

He felt like he was looking at the embodiment of sound itself. One of the figures was ethereal but a simple, average-looking male. The other was the opposite: an ungodly beautiful female the likes of which he had never seen before.

And he also felt the aura of a path radiating from her, and his lustful nature started blazing like never before, but he didn't dare act on it for he knew that she could slap him to death.

Typically, in a situation like this, he would already be in the process of escaping or self-destructing, but he didn't, for that was just how extreme the threat he was feeling was.

He knew those actions would all be futile and Most importantly, he didn't feel any killing intent within all that threatening danger.

He felt that his main self would be lucky to survive a head-to-head confrontation with these figures.

He truly felt that the female could grant him true death in every sense of those words not the one that 8th-tier beings grant lower beings. No, something far more terrifying. Something like what the Wise One granted to one of his companions who answered the Time Question wrong inside the Forbidden Echo.

And he couldn't help but wonder were they among the five entities who triggered the Primal War of the End?

With no other possibility, he waited patiently to see what their purpose was.

Suddenly, the female's eyes locked onto him and did something he deduced would almost never, never happen. She and her companion bent their upper bodies to a 90-degree angle, bowing to him, then spoke. Her voice soothing beyond description:

"I submit to the Alpha."

Boom!

Instantly, a ethereal contract manifested before them.

"?!"

"What?" Apexion questioned, for he was truly shocked. He could not understand why a pathfinder so strong would willingly submit to him for no reason whatsoever. Many possible schemes flashed through his mind. Even the Hanging Tree was startled.

"I am willing to submit a portion of authority over my path to you," replied True Sound, in a firm tone her head still bowed.

Apexion gazed at her deeply and questioned,

"Why? At your level of existence, why would you lower yourself to me?"

"My path has come to an end. I can see no way forward. There is no future for me."She answered in a calm tone.
