Villain Simulator-Chapter 127: Nancy’s One-Sided Unconditional Love
The storyline replayed in my mind, and I couldn’t help but curse silently.
’Damn it! These weird storylines and protagonists! Why do these bastards always have screws loose in their heads?!’
First, it was the hopeless hogu John, then that spineless simp Richard, and now this misandrist bitch Rosalie, who hated men—each one of these protagonists was weirder than the last.
And to top it off, this world was unlike any other.
It was a world with a matriarchal society, where women held high-ranking positions and pursued men.
Other than that, it was exactly the same as a fantasy Earth with magic and awakened people.
Though, had it been one of those Gender Role Reversal worlds I’d read about back on Earth, with men wearing makeup and skirts...
’Fuck No!’
Just imagining it made a cold current run down my spine.
’Fortunately, nothing is like that.’
The men and women here were the same as on a normal Earth.
Most men still didn’t like make-up, preferred jeans, shirts, and suits, and still harbored the same love for guns, video games, sports, and race cars.
Women, on the other hand, wore skirts and delighted in cooking, knitting, and all things traditional. They also held men, who were in high demand but in low supply, in high regard, treating them as sacred creatures and simping for them.
’Hehehe, it looks like this world is going to be more fun than I imagined.’
I couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly at the thought of how this world’s setting would make many things easier for me.
Even so, while some aspects became simpler, the storyline itself was a difficult one due to my poor talent and background, which was in stark contrast to the overpowered protagonist with a monstrous family behind her.
Regardless, the matter related to the protagonist was a concern for later.
My current situation didn’t allow much contemplation of the future since I and the girl carrying me, named Nancy, were currently being chased by a Chaos Worshipper and his summoned monster from the Cypra family, trying to kill us.
The Cypra family was one of the strongest families on the continent and was also the family of the protagonist, Roselie Cypra.
For various reasons, the Cypra family had mercilessly eliminated countless lives and families over the previous several decades—Nancy and I were both two of the many remains of such destroyed families.
They couldn’t kill us earlier because of their internal power struggle, but now that everything had settled and the situation had stabilized, they came for us—to cut the grass and eradicate the roots so it couldn’t grow up and cause trouble for them in the future.
Looking at these circumstances, my current situation seemed extremely dangerous, but in truth, it was not.
Not only because I had the means to kill the Chaos Worshipper pursuing us, but also because, according to the storyline, Nancy, who had realized that escape was impossible, would soon hide me within a cave.
Then, by acting as bait, she would lure the Chaos Worshipper into a deadly confrontation alone, followed by a suicidal attack, with which she would take him down with her to the afterlife.
’I will be saved, but she will die in the process.’
The thought made my heart heavy for some reason, and I couldn’t help but deeply glance at the back of her head, her midnight-black hair curling in a braid.
"Huff... huff... huff..."
She was breathing heavily, her chest heaving up and down.
Even though my physique was weak and slender, being an 18-year-old boy, the burden of carrying me through the dense forest at full speed was no small feat. Yet, Nancy persisted without complaint.
She could have abandoned me, using me as mere bait to secure her escape. But she didn’t.
Her love for me burned with an intensity akin to a candle sacrificing itself to illuminate the world of the one it cherishes.
’She loves me more than anything.’
Realizing this made me sigh in my heart, as we finally reached the cave described in the storyline.
Entering the mouth of the cave, Nancy gently lowered me to the ground, her hands trembling. She spoke with urgency before I could voice my concerns.
"Stay here, Adrian. Trust me, just this once. No matter what happens next or what you hear, you must not come out."
"No!"
I rejected her proposition outright.
"I won’t allow you to sacrifice yourself."
Though the version of me from this world might have been naive in certain aspects, even he wasn’t foolish enough to miss the gravity of her words.
"Do you think I’m a fool, Nancy? Why risk your life for me? You could have—"
Before I could finish, Nancy dashed toward me in a blur, and she delivered a gentle blow to the back of my head.
Thud!
Instantly, darkness engulfed my vision as consciousness slipped away, and my body collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"I knew it would come to this. I should have acted sooner."
Nancy’s voice echoed with regret as she brushed my hair from my forehead, her gaze lingering on my serene face, betraying the turmoil raging within her own heart.

"I’m sorry, Adrian. But I have to do this... Only one of us can survive tonight, and I want it to be you. No matter what it takes, I’ll ensure your survival because... I love you. More than anything... So, live for me."
"I’ll protect you. Always."
Tears welled in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Her resolve solidified as she wiped her tears, and her mind focused solely on the task at hand—to protect me, no matter the cost.
She stood up, and with swift movements fueled by determination and a love that transcended her own safety, she left.
’Gone.’
The moment I felt her presence vanish, my eyes snapped open, and I sat upright.
That tap on my back was nowhere near enough to render me unconscious; I had been merely pretending.
Still, I couldn’t resist glancing in the direction she had fled.
For the first time since my transmigration, I found myself utterly speechless at someone’s unconditional love for me.
’Sacrificing oneself for a one-sided love. A love devoid of manipulation. It’s truly... something different but pleasant.’
It was a novel feeling, and a gentle smile couldn’t help but appear on my face as I placed my palm on my chest, savoring this unique beating of my heart.
Of course, I wasn’t the Adrian she loved, but that Adrian was a mere vessel with no soul, and since I had occupied this vessel, everything about him—his identity, his fortune, his misfortune, even his destiny—belonged to me.
The same went for Nancy and her feelings for me.
Truthfully, I hadn’t done a thing for her, and we weren’t even related by blood.
In spite of this, Nancy had always been there for me and had fiercely protected me from the brutalities of life out of love.
From the moment we met as children, Nancy had been my constant companion, a guiding light in the darkest of times—a pillar of strength in a world filled with malice.
Even during our time in the orphanage, after the tragic loss of our families at the hands of Cypra, she endured the taunts and jeers of other children to keep me safe.
"That bastard…"
I hadn’t endured it myself, but merely recalling the torment of the orphanage from the storyline made my blood boil—it was like how you would watch a movie and get enraged when the main character suffers injustice.
The abusive, wretched director and his followers—those jealous, violent boys—had turned my life into a living hell.
My small, frail, unawakened body was no match for their brutal assaults. Each of their punches and kicks seemed to shatter my bones and leave bruises that lingered for weeks.
There was even a time when my head hit the stairs due to a kick from the director, and I almost wandered around death.
Needless to say, I wasn’t even hospitalized.
I lost consciousness, only to awaken later.
My head was roughly disinfected and bandaged.
It wasn’t until later that I learned how Nancy had sacrificed her own sustenance, struggling relentlessly to save for my treatment.
She endured days of hunger to ensure my survival.
It was a miraculous situation that I did not die and opened my eyes—I really survived because of her, who always protected me.
Even when she got awakened, she didn’t leave to live a better life of freedom, but she worked tirelessly and risked her life countless times hunting monsters, eventually collecting enough money to buy my freedom from the orphanage—a place that resembled more of a slave shop than a shelter.
My life took a drastic turn for the better when I moved into a small rented apartment with Nancy, away from prying eyes.
But just as we began to savor the taste of peace, this incident shattered our newfound tranquility.
Nonetheless, once again, Nancy protected me like a selfless hero, and even now she was trying to ensure my life while sacrificing her own.
Truly, she was the only fortune in my life, filled with misfortune.
