Villain Simulator-Chapter 133: Persuasion, Storyline, Overlook and Overconfidence
"I do... I want to go to the Lumina Magic Sword Academy!" I declared.
"What?!"
Nancy let out a loud exclamation, her face showing bewilderment.
She was shocked, but I didn’t lose my cool and replied calmly.
"Yes."
"Why?!"
’Because it is the setting of the main storyline, and I need to be there to leverage my future knowledge, duh.’
Obviously, I did not tell this to Nancy.
For her, I already had a reasonable excuse prepared.
"Because only at Lumina Academy can I not only grow stronger but also make connections with individuals who will hold real power in the future. I also need to uncover the truth behind everything, including our parents’ deaths and recent attacks, and without support, we can’t do anything."
I reasoned in a steady tone, but Nancy rejected me firmly with a loud outburst.
"Are you out of your mind? It’s too dangerous! It’s like walking straight into the lion’s den. You’ll also risk exposing your Chaos energy skills. Absolutely not; I won’t allow it."
"But I want revenge, Nancy. I want to kill everyone who has caused us so much suffering for so long."
My fists were clenched tight, and I gritted my teeth, as if trying to hold down the raging emotions inside me.
"Think about it for a second, Nancy. We don’t have a choice; if both of us disappear at the same time as that Chaos Worshipper, the people behind this incident will definitely send more people after us to find out about us or chase us down; they might even frame us as terrorists or worse. But if I go to Lumina, where the world has its attention, things will be different."
I grasped Nancy’s hand firmly and continued to persuade her with an unwavering voice.
"No matter how powerful our enemies might be, they have to think twice before taking action in Lumina. The academy will protect me, and since it will only be me, our enemies will think you’re dead and only I survived. You can use this to live and operate safely outside with a fake identity, grow stronger while I make connections inside, find more information, and think of a better plan."
Ending everything in one breath, I looked intently at Nancy and patiently waited for her answer.
Our options were dwindling—either we continue running for the rest of our lives, living in constant fear, or confront the problem head-on and find a way to survive.
To be honest, my plan was feasible, and I had no doubt that Nancy understood this too, but she couldn’t accept it because it carried certain risks and problems that I might have to face.
"..."
For a moment, Nancy remained quiet, and a heavy silence settled upon us before she finally opened her mouth.
"You have changed."
I shook my head, maintaining my serious expression.
"I just realized my weaknesses. The helplessness and despair I felt when I couldn’t do anything, even though your life was in danger… And you still saved me. I… I don’t want to feel that again."
But the more I spoke, the redder my eyes became, and by the end of my speech, I was stammering, barely holding my tears.
"... I... I don’t want to be a burden on you... I want to."
Before I could finish my sentence, though, Nancy suddenly pulled me into her arms, hugging me tightly and gently rubbing the back of my head.
"Silly. What are you saying? You’ll never be a burden to me."
"Mmm, but I want to protect you too."
"I know."
She responded, holding me silently for a few seconds before pushing me back and asking,
"Then, since you’ve decided to go to Lumina, have you thought about how to get admission there?"
Lumina Magic Sword Academy, or simply [Lumina], was one of the most prestigious Magic Sword Academies on the American continent.
It was a place where the top rising stars of the younger generation, who would become the pillars of humanity in the future, were taught.
Consequently, admission requirements for Lumina were also exceptionally challenging.
Of course, the children of powerful families and Awakens could gain admission relatively easily, but commoners must fiercely hone their skills and compete on merit.
Furthermore, the tuition fees were so high that if there was no scholarship, it could crush a middle-class family into debt in just a few months.
Regardless, I wasn’t the least bit worried, especially about money.
I had brought along enough precious metals and monster cores stored within my system storage to purchase an entire guild with cash, let alone cover some tuition fees.
Yet, even that was just the tip of the iceberg. I couldn’t even begin to count the number of weapons, potions, magic scrolls, artifacts, and other items I brought in one sitting, let alone their immense value.
Of course, I couldn’t say these things to Nancy, so this time I pretended to hesitate.
"I...."
Noticing my hesitation, Nancy interjected.
"You know, Adrian, you only have basic education, and considering the handful of students getting admitted every year in Lumina from the thousands applying, it can be seen that the entrance exams are no joke."
"Since you also once belonged to a well-established family and your parents were both awakened, you don’t even belong to the Social Welfare Category. So no subsidies for you."
"Moreover, you will have to face discrimination from those spoiled brats who will try to bring you down and from those snake-like bitches who seduce young men and destroy their lives."
One by one, Nancy continued to outline the challenges I would undoubtedly face.
"In elite society, an orphan with no background is always looked down upon. Those from wealthy families do so to satisfy their vanity, while those from poorer backgrounds often use others beneath them as scapegoats to gain favor with those at the top."
"No one else would serve as much of a human shield as you there, who will be at the bottom there, and these are just some of the challenges you’ll encounter. Do you still want to go?"
Nancy questioned, expecting me to waver.
But this time, I nodded without hesitation.
"I do. I’ll study hard and get admitted; trust me."
"Even with only a few months left until the entrance exams?"
Nancy’s pressed further, but despite her persistent attempts to dissuade me, I remained resolute, firmly holding her hand as I reassured her.
"Yes, even with only a few months left, I’ll make it happen."
My unwavering determination made Nancy bite her bottom lip in frustration, knowing she would be unable to talk me out of it.
She fell silent for a moment, then sighed in resignation.
"Sigh..."
Finally, she acquiesced to my plan.
"Okay, since you’re resolute in your decision, I won’t stand in your way anymore. I’ll support you to the best of my ability."
"Woohoo! Now we’re talking!"
I shouted out loud in joy, leaping up from the bed in excitement and planting a kiss on Nancy’s cheek.
Flustered by my sudden display of affection, she quickly redirected the conversation.
"There are no other requirements as long as you’ve cleared the practical and theoretical entrance exams and paid the fees on time."
"I’ll study and train hard for the tests, and let’s not worry about the money. With you and me hunting together, we’ll be able to collect it soon." I suggested optimistically.
But Nancy immediately shot down the idea.
"No! You need to focus on studying and training. You don’t have much time left and a lot to catch up on. Leave the matter of money to me."
"In that case, I’ll look for some scholarships on the side and work hard to clear the entrance exams."
"Good, keep up that spirit."
Following the compliment, Nancy unexpectedly planted a sudden kiss on my lips and then hurriedly averted her gaze, trying to conceal her flushed face.
"It’s getting late; I’ll hunt us something to eat nearby. You can rest till then."
Stating that, she didn’t wait for even a second more and directly left to hunt, as if running away in embarrassment.
Sensing her presence outside the cottage disappear, I smirked and chuckled inwardly.
"Finally, some alone time to myself."
The innocent expression on my face vanished, replaced by my usual sharp gaze as I lay down on the bed, staring at the wooden ceiling, and contemplated the storyline that I hadn’t had the chance to explore.
This was a story with a female protagonist, but it was not yuri.
Hell, it was not even romance.
Instead, it was more of a wish fulfillment and action-oriented novel set in a female-dominated world, featuring the main character, Rosalie Cypra—a prodigious talent with a monstrous background and astonishing luck, ensuring her journey was smooth sailing.
The main plot of the story takes place at the Lumina Academy, where Rosalie meets new people, makes comrades, defeats the villains, defeats her rivals, and comes out on top.
Later in the story, she ascended to the head of the Cypra family by slaying her own father, stopped a Chaos invasion to save the world, became the world ruler, eradicated all men, enslaved all women, and inadvertently destroyed the very world she once protected.
"Damn!"
It was truly a messed-up storyline in which I played the negligible role of a small villain, a pitiable existence to whom nobody gave a second thought.
When I was young, the Cypra family kidnapped my mother, who had a unique physique, and sacrificed her to Rosalie, who had the ability to absorb certain unique physiques under specific conditions to enhance her own talent.
After learning of this through his connections, my father became furious and gave his all to retaliate against the Cypra family.
But, unable to even realize the immensity between heaven and earth, he met a pathetic demise, failing to even scratch the Cypra family’s surface.
The rest was history, as I, along with Nancy, who was my childhood friend and whose family too was a victim of the same atrocity, were consigned to an orphanage.
Ironically, the orphanage itself was under the control of a faction within the Cypra family that was opposed to Rosalie’s faction, intending to gather individuals like us as potential troublemakers against Rosalie in the future.
Yet fate favored the protagonist.
In a twist of events, Rosalie’s father ascended to head the Cypra family, uniting both factions with an iron grip. Seizing control of the entire family, he wasted no time in eliminating perceived threats, including us.
This was also the very reason we survived that catastrophe years ago and found ourselves hunted to the brink of death yesterday.
Perhaps the only stroke of luck in this tragedy was that the Cypra family underestimated us, sending only one low-level Chaos Worshipper in secret.
In the storyline, I only discovered this truth after conducting a thorough investigation into Nancy’s death.
Infuriated, I sought revenge, became a Chaos Worshipper myself, and launched an attack on Rosalie Cypra during one of her school events.
And the outcome?
After suffering all my life because of Rosalie, I eventually died an unjust and pathetic death at her hands, just like my father.
To be honest, whether my death was just or unjust held little significance for me.
In a world where the weak had no rights against the strong, this was a bitter truth I had long accepted. And compared to the true atrocities occurring daily all over the world, my story was far from the worst.
I wouldn’t hypocritically condemn Rosalie’s cruelty, for I knew well that in her place, I might have done the same for my own advancement.
Yet, with each passing day, stories like these eroded my belief in karma.
I mean, if Karma were real, all the wicked would meet gruesome ends, while the virtuous would bask in eternal happiness.
Unfortunately, reality paints a different picture.
"That’s why I am not a righteous monk but a selfish villain. Sigh!"
Just processing this all made me sigh deeply, and I removed it from my head for the time being, focusing on the future.
’Now that I have solved Nancy’s matter, I will have a reliable errand girl outside the academy. I should also try to increase her affection for me to Tier 3 in these few months before entrance exams.’
In all honesty, I wasn’t the least bit worried about these entrance exams—I had a thousand ways to clear them.
My primary concern was maximizing the benefits from this storyline and choosing the best course forward to earn the highest possible evaluation.
Speaking of evaluation, there was also this system notification earlier that I forgot to look at.
[The evaluation ranking system has been expanded.]
[Two more evaluation grades have been added above S grade: SS grade and SSS grade.]
"What’s the point?"
[Back to the host: The corresponding grades would have increased rewards.]
"Hoo! Now you’re talking about something."
The news of the rise in maximum rewards was undoubtedly welcome, but it also meant I had to redouble my efforts.
"Fortunately, I have enough time to plan and prepare many things before the academy starts."
But as I spoke, a nagging feeling crept over me as if I had overlooked something, and then suddenly the realization struck.
"Huh? Time... Oh shit! System, what is the time dilation of this world?"
[Due to not receiving any command from the host, it has been set to the last changes made, which was Daisy’s world of 1:12]
"Duck me!"
With everything going on, I completely forgot to change it.
"System, keep Daisy’s world settings the same as before, but set this one to the maximum difference."
[Order Received]
[The new time difference between the main world and this is 1:730]
Phew~!
Only after the system confirmed the change did I finally relax visibly, as if a weight had lifted off my shoulders.
Thankfully, I caught the oversight before it was too late.
’If I had spent a year here without even realizing it, it would have equated to about a month in the main world.’
I shuddered to even think of the changes that might have taken place in my absence.
’This lapse was a mistake, but I must never overlook even the smallest details. Lately, I’ve become too confident, especially after everything went so smoothly during Rachael’s event. But that’s not a good sign.’

"Confidence is good, but overconfidence is the first step towards one’s downfall."
With this warning in mind, my spirit sharpened and my resolve hardened.
"Now that I have only a few months left, I must devise various plans in advance. I need to extract maximum benefit from this situation and this world."
"Rosalie Cypra, just wait. So what if you are a woman? Since you too are a protagonist, I will give you the most horrible death of them all."
