Villain: The Play of Destiny-Chapter 142
Sunday, April 14th, 2041
Antorina Island, Seychelles, Indian Ocean.
The plan was to only stay on the Island for a week, but something unexpected happened that kept them there for this long. And they were not sure how long they were going to stay there.
Keith entered the bedroom after taking breakfast, and he found his beautiful Fiancee still in the same position that she had been for the last nine days.
Rebecca was sound asleep, mysteriously floating in the air, right above their bed, and there was a beautiful purple Aura surrounding her that emanated from the pendant that she was wearing on her neck.
The pendant had started shining and oozing out this Magical Aura as soon as Rebecca had managed to open all of her 81 Aura Nodes.
With Keith's help, it only took four days for her to open all her Aura Nodes and Channels. This speed was ridiculously fast, but he knew that it was not because she was very talented in Cultivation, but was all thanks to his Special Physique which was heaven-defyingly outrageous in this regard.
He silently walked up to her and gently ran his fingers through her golden hair that were hanging down.
Keith could not help but marvel at how comfortingly cold the Magical Aura surrounding her was. As soon as his hand came in contact with it, he felt very connected to nature all around him. And the Aura inside his body seemed quite excited as well.
He had a guess what it was, and even if a part of him was tempted to absorb it as it could help his Cultivation, he did not do it. After all, it was a gift for the Inheritor of Hectate, and the recipient of it was none other than his beautiful lover. How could he steal it from her?
A light smile crept on his face as he found her brows slightly furrowed. He knew that she learning a lot of things in the dream that she was having. And then his eyes inadvertently glanced at her right ring finger, where the Hectate's God Ring was visible.
It had appeared as soon as she fell into her days-long sleep, and all the Gods associated with their Pantheon in this world and beyond had sensed it.
"Let's go, Void." He turned to look at the cub that was sleeping on the bed, right under its owner.
The black cub opened its golden eyes when it heard his words. It got up on its feet, and it cutely yawned and stretched its back before jumping in his arms.
"Eee!" It sweetly called out to him, and Keith understood what it wanted.
He gently started combing its fur with his hand that was covered in the black flame, and the cub moaned in satisfaction before closing its eyes again and absorbing the Mana and Aura from him.
"Wow." Keith could not help but sigh helplessly at lazy Void was.
Luckily, it was not too gluttonous and only needed to be fed Mana and Aura once a day to two. It was not really necessary for its survival as it could live on food as well, but it was quite beneficial to it, so Keith fed it whenever he could.
After reaching the living room, where Yingying and Marianne were sitting across each other going through the daily Intel they received from the Demiliore and Grayson Family, he placed the cub right next to the girl with the Bob cut.
"Is everything okay back home?"
"Yes!" Both the girls nodded to him.
"Alright, I am going out on a run. Will be back in a couple of hours." He smiled and said, and then stopped his Shadow, who was about to get up. "Stay here."
Yingying frowned at his words but nodded, complying with his command.
He had just reached the door when his watch suddenly vibrated, and he curiously smiled when he read the name of the caller.
"Hey, Love!" He said as he picked up the phone from the table and answered the call.
"Keith, Aunt Celine was found unconscious in her home by Qingyue. She's being taken to the hospital right now, and Mother and I are on our way to the Sovienna Health Clinic." Amelia calmly informed him about what was going on.
"What happened?" He seriously asked.
Celine was in perfect health two weeks ago, and it could not be due to the ailment he was treating her every month for as he had completely suppressed it.
"We are investigating it." She said. "But Aunt Celine went to the Lin Mansion in the morning, and instead of coming back to our Manor, she went straight to the Robin's Nest. Also, Lin Meiyin informed Mother that Aunt Celine fought with her husband..."
"I see." He ended the call and then immediately dialed the number of the Director of the Sovienna Health Clinic. "Dr Ethan." He said as soon as the call was picked up.
"Heir Demiliore!" The man on the call seemed elated to hear his voice. "How may I be of help?"
"The lady of the Lin Family is being taken to your Clinic. She was found unconscious in her home, and I want you to send me the reports as soon as you have run a check on her."
"I have already been contacted by Miss Qingyue, and rest assured, Heir Demiliore, I will see Lady Celine myself."
"Thank you." He gratefully said. "Also, if Lin Houtian contacts you or arrives at the Clinic, you must not give him any details or let him meet Lady Celine. I am afraid he's responsible for whatever has happened to her." He meaningfully said, and the man on the other end tensed up.
"I understand, Heir Demiliore." Ethan seriously said.
Ending the call, Keith frowned and then walked towards the study.
An hour later, he received a call from Qingyue, and he sighed when he heard her cry.
"Keith, Mama..." She could not even speak, and he was relieved to hear Amelia's voice from the call, who was comforting the grey-eyed girl.
"She will be fine." He assuredly said after the girl on the phone calmed down a little.
"Please..." She wanted to say something but then stopped. However, he knew what she wanted to say.
"I will be there as soon as possible." He promised her and then ended the call when he saw the notification of Ethan calling him. "Yes, Dr Ethan?
"We have run the preliminary tests, and Lady Celine's life is not in danger. She had a minor stroke, and it was most likely caused by stress and emotional distress."
"I see. Has she woken up?" He asked.
"She's sleeping right now. I will inform you as soon as she wakes up and will send you the reports of the final tests."
"Thank you, Doctor."
"It's my duty, Heir Demiliore."
Keith then made a call to Qingyue and informed her about what Dr Ethan had told him. He assured her that Celine would be fine, and then asked her to contact her Grandfather to find out what exactly happened at the Lin Mansion.
Time passed, and Keith, who made several calls and received more at that time, finally put his phone aside.
Yingying knocked on the door of his study to inform him that lunch was ready, and he asked her to bring it to him.
The last call he had received was from his wife, and she informed him that Qingyue had angrily rushed to the Lin Mansion to confront her father about something that her grandfather had informed her about.
It was bound to be something very serious since Qingyue was even reluctant to talk about it to him and Amelia. But Keith had guessed what might have happened.
Lin Houtian had finally revealed his true self to his family, and now, things were going to take a very bad turn for him.
Had it happened after the passing of President Lin, things would have been different. But since old man Lin was still alive, Lin Houtian was going to lose a lot.
After taking his lunch, he made a call to Caesar to make the necessary arrangements.
"Uncle, I want you to keep an eye on the old man of the Lin Family and his son. Lin Houtian might try something against his father in the next few days."
"Rest assured Young Master, I will arrange for people to protect him..."
"No." He cut him off. "There's no need to make too many efforts to protect old Lin. He is a sharp man, and he has perhaps already taken measures to protect himself. I just want the evidence against Lin Houtian for whatever he might try to pull. If he does make a move on his father's life, I want the evidence."
"And if the plan succeeds and old Lin's life is in danger?"
"We will see about that after assessing the cons and benefits. And that's why we must be aware of every move that Lin Houtian might try to pull off."
"I understand, Young Master!" Caesar nodded to his words and then ended the call to get to work.
