Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 216: Holding an Early Meeting to Cook for Her
Phillip Lane already knew Thea Shaw’s identity, so he smiled warmly and looked at her: "Miss Shaw, welcome. I’m Landon Ford’s secretary, Phillip Lane."
"Young Master Ford is in a meeting now. He asked me to wait for you here. What would you like to eat for lunch? He has his meals delivered to the company. You can order whatever you want."
Thea smiled too: "No worries, I’ll eat whatever he eats. I’m not picky. Just order an extra portion."
Phillip nodded: "Miss Shaw, you can look around the company if you’re bored. Here’s an access card that lets you enter all areas of the company."
Phillip handed over a black sensor card and added: "This floor is all Young Master Ford’s offices. There’s a study and entertainment room at the end. You can wait for Young Master Ford there."
Landon Ford has no defenses against Thea Shaw.
The office of this core management level must have many confidential files, surrounded by surveillance. Normally, those without sufficient clearance can’t even come up here. For Landon to let Thea wander around implies he has no doubts at all.
Perhaps if Thea asked for passwords to the secret places in Landon’s desk, he would give them to her.
Thea isn’t someone who likes to trouble others, so she nodded immediately: "Alright, I’ll look around myself. Secretary Lane, if you have things to attend to, go ahead."
Phillip replied: "Okay, Miss Shaw. If you need anything, you can call the desk phone on Young Master Ford’s desk, dial extension 111 to reach the secretary team, and they will follow your instructions. I’m heading into the meeting now."
Even when going to a meeting, leaving the important secretary behind to welcome her, Thea’s heart was touched.
Once Phillip left, she certainly wouldn’t be so impolite as to wander recklessly, knowing how secretive big companies can be.
She checked out Landon’s entertainment room. Goodness, not only were there many science fiction-styled gaming consoles, but also a huge movie projection screen.
Thea idly started a movie to watch.
Originally, she wanted to see how a domineering CEO goes to work. Well, it turns out he has no time at all, constantly in meetings, unable to be seen.
While watching the movie, it was Secretary Lane’s team who sent someone over to ask if she needed lunch, reminding her she had come to see Landon for lunch.
But since Landon was still in meetings, she was naturally too embarrassed to call him out. So, she ate the delivered meal herself. Honestly, it tasted like the work of a professional chef.
She ate, drank, and continued watching the movie until about 1:30, when she finally saw Landon come to find her.
Landon saw Thea quietly watching the movie without leaving and felt quite pleased: "You’re watching movies here. Let’s leave together at 4 when I finish work."
Thea asked him: "You are so busy? Meeting until 1:30, you haven’t eaten?"
"Not yet." Landon said, "Some meeting data needs to be sent out this afternoon, can’t afford delays. I just came out to grab a bite before going back to continue the meeting."
Considering that some management members are older and can’t handle long meetings without a break, they had to be let out to replenish their energy.
Thea couldn’t help but comment: "You guys have it too tough."
Landon chuckled lightly: "If I weren’t thinking of making dinner for you tonight, I wouldn’t be rushing it."
Thea immediately objected: "Hey, don’t say that! I’m not forcing you. On the contrary, as someone who cares for you, you don’t have to cook dinner for me tonight considering how busy you are."
