Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Aunt Chase the Best

Mrs. Blair felt some relief upon hearing this and smiled, "Your dad and I pretty much have everything sorted out at home, we’re coming soon."

This kind of news couldn’t be hidden from the neighbors, and Mrs. Blair said, "I just told them that Chloe’s got a promotion and a raise and might settle in Aethelgard in the future. So, we’re planning to go to Aethelgard to take care of her, and they’re all quite envious."

A person’s whole life is about their children making something of themselves.

In the area where Mrs. Blair and her family lived, the trend of favoring boys over girls wasn’t too severe; it all depended on whether the kids in each family were capable or not.

Putting aside Thea’s past issues, Chloe herself transitioned smoothly from university into society, and she’s currently standing out in terms of salary and prospects locally. Even though Chloe hasn’t married yet, Mrs. Blair isn’t worried about her.

She clearly sees how excellent her daughter is. With her own health not being great, if Chloe had married and had kids early, she probably wouldn’t be of much help anyway. It’s better to let her daughter develop freely.

Not to mention, now Thea has also gone to Aethelgard. Although Thea didn’t say much, Chloe vaguely hinted that Thea seemed to have changed, and Mrs. Blair wants to see just how Thea has changed.

She’s not worried that Thea, having returned to the Sutton Family, would ignore her. After all, if Thea really didn’t want to come back, she wouldn’t have encouraged Chloe and Mr. Shaw to move to Aethelgard with her.

Instead, she’s met Chloe quite a few times; they never seemed to have had such a good sisterly relationship before.

All Mrs. Blair thinks is that after returning to such a family, her vision and perspective must have broadened, naturally causing her to change. She hopes to see Thea grow even more outstanding.

"Of course, just look at how excellent your two daughters are."

Thea wasn’t arrogant; if it weren’t for that miraculous occurrence in Qirenia, she wouldn’t stand a chance against her sister upon returning to the Sutton Family.

Her sister, a college graduate, hasn’t worried the family since, having entered a company and advancing through hard work rapidly; her competence is evident.

Mrs. Blair, hearing this, laughed heartily: "Did you finish all the stuff your dad brought you last time? We’ll bring more for you next time."

"Next time you’re flying here, you can’t bring much. No need to bring it; you can just send it by mail first." Thea spoke to Mrs. Blair in a soft, slightly teasing tone, "The strawberries were quite tasty. The pickles you made, Mrs. Sutton also enjoyed them. When you’re in Aethelgard, you can make them there too. No need to bring them."

"Alright."

Mrs. Blair smiled, ready to chat with her daughter a bit more, when a voice called from outside: "Lauren Blair!"

Mrs. Blair’s smile faded, and she whispered, "Aunt Chase is here again. I’ll hang up now and talk to you another day."

Thea, knowing Aunt Chase’s nature, said, "Mom, don’t pay too much attention to her. We’ll be leaving in a while, so we don’t have to deal with her anymore. Just let her words go in one ear and out the other."

"Okay!" Mrs. Blair understood, ended the call, and turned with a faint smile to the approaching Aunt Chase, "Aunt Chase, is there something you need?"

"Were you on the phone with your daughter? I could see you smiling from afar."

Aunt Chase was still thin, with high cheekbones making her appear harsh and stingy in her demeanor as well.

Mrs. Blair gave a light laugh: "Is there something you need from me?"

Prompted by this question, Aunt Chase directly stated her purpose: "Oh, it’s just that thing I mentioned before. Have you thought about it? I’ve been considering; the younger one has a boyfriend, but isn’t the older one said to not have one? How about letting my nephew and your Chloe meet? It so happens that my nephew is transferring to Aethelgard for work soon, which is quite a promotion!"
