Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 258: Lorraine York Pushed Monica Cole
That was jealousy.
Thea could feel it.
Lorraine’s appearance could only be described as average, quite ordinary, neither ugly nor particularly attractive.
Mediocre and common.
The jealousy hidden deep in her eyes was well-concealed, but Thea, having seen countless sharp individuals, could spot it instantly.
She could recognize Lorraine’s type at a glance. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Not only was Lorraine jealous, her fierce demeanor hinted at a tendency towards malice.
Thea naturally wasn’t afraid she would do anything, as she was only staying here for one day.
The reason was easy to guess, probably because she was indeed too beautiful, arousing Lorraine’s jealousy.
Others naturally couldn’t see this expression. At the table, everyone was slightly curious about the extra girl, but the owner said it was because something happened at home, and the parents temporarily sent her here to stay.
As for what happened, the owner didn’t say, and the Sutton Family naturally wouldn’t ask more.
Monica looked gentle and well-behaved, with a timid but sensible personality, and Mrs. Sutton seemed to like her more.
After the meal, Mrs. Sutton even gave Monica a big red envelope, and since Lorraine was also there, she also got one.
Monica didn’t refuse; Thea guessed it was probably given every year.
Lorraine was silent for a moment, then quickly took the envelope, saying "thank you" seemingly against her will.
Honestly, even Mrs. Sutton wasn’t fond of her attitude.
Taking the envelope without even a smile, it seemed like she believed others owed her something.
Zia, who was usually straightforward, opened her mouth as if to say something, but Aurora pulled her sleeve, preventing her from speaking.
Mrs. Sutton’s smile faded, but it was still the sweet Monica who first expressed her thanks.
At night, the night was silent; everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
The farmhouse rooms weren’t as luxurious as five-star hotels but were still clean and tidy.
The Sutton siblings each had a room; Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were at the far end, with Thea and Aurora in the middle.
These houses were built by the river, providing a different flavor to sleep accompanied by the quiet sound of flowing water at night.
In the middle of the night, Thea faintly heard a sound of arguing.
Her ears were sharp, so she heard more clearly; Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were probably sound asleep, not hearing anything.
Thea got up and looked towards the window.
Facing the house where the owner lived, the third floor was where they lived privately.
Thea saw a room on the third floor with the light on, two silhouettes in pajamas arguing in the hallway outside.
It was Lorraine and Monica.
From far away, it was hard to hear their words, but Thea saw them argue for a couple of sentences before Lorraine pushed Monica.
A piercing scream escaped from Monica’s mouth, and Thea saw Monica’s body flip over the hallway, straight down into the river below.
Thea: "..."
The scream was ear-piercing, accompanied by the sound of falling into the river, waking everyone up immediately.
Thea opened her door to go out, and the owner of the opposite building also woke up. Upon seeing Lorraine, he paused, then immediately jumped into the river when he saw a figure flailing in the water.
The owner, who could swim, quickly pulled Monica out of the river.
Opposite, Lorraine watched with a blank expression throughout.
She wasn’t even flustered when she saw Thea peeking over here; her eyes were full of malice in the silent night.
