Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 263: Delia Darden Did Something Outrageous
Thea Shaw waved her hand at Landon Ford, like the host of the party: "Landon, make yourself at home, have a seat."
Landon looked at her, amused.
But it was clear to him that Thea was much more relaxed in this home.
At the Sutton Family’s, she put on quite an act, or in other words, she was a bit stiff.
But here, she seemed much more at ease.
Landon sat down and chatted with Mr. Shaw, who naturally asked about some personal details.
Landon answered quite thoroughly, and in terms of work, he kept it consistent with what he had told Thea, saying his family runs a business, and he’s inheriting the family estate.
Mr. Shaw wisely didn’t ask about the scale of his family business.
Then Mr. Shaw got to the critical question: "How did you two meet and start dating?"
"..."
When they first started dating, she told the Sutton Family she fancied his looks, and now, facing Mr. Shaw, Thea was also honest: "I was just attracted by his good looks."
Mr. Shaw: "...Ah, this..."
It wasn’t unexpected.
Thea had liked good-looking things since she was a child.
Landon’s answer was much more serious: "We met at a family dinner at my place, and after spending time together, feelings developed over time."
Thea: "..."
There were clearly no feelings; it was just about your body.
"Oh."
Mr. Shaw looked enlightened, and then the atmosphere became a bit quiet. He probably didn’t know how to interact with his future son-in-law, so he said he’d go help Lauren Blair in the kitchen, leaving Thea and Landon to chat on their own.
Landon whispered to Thea: "Your uncle and aunt are pretty nice."
"Yeah."
Thea responded absentmindedly, just as a message from Marcus Lynch popped up on her WeChat.
Marcus Lynch seemed baffled, asking her: [Miss Shaw, did you say Delia Darden could attract creatures?]
Delia had her fortune told by Thea.
Thea suddenly remembered that the drama Delia starred in was airing tonight.
She had predicted this drama would likely flop midway, which neither Delia nor Marcus believed.
The incident hasn’t even happened yet, why is Marcus reaching out first?
Thea replied nonchalantly: [Yes, Mr. Lynch, is there any problem?]
Marcus Lynch: [...No]
Just... there’s no knowing how to describe Delia Darden.
Even though she didn’t believe Thea’s fortune-telling, she recently did something particularly outlandish.
Apparently, several fortunetellers told her she couldn’t become famous, so even though Delia was looking forward to tonight’s aired drama, her thoughts have shifted elsewhere and she’s been much less anxious these past few days.
And then Delia also received a phone call from her mother.
Her mom was just chatting aimlessly, as one would, but happened to mention this matter casually.
"Your second uncle hasn’t had much luck this year either."
Delia was half-listening to her mom’s chatter, and said: "How so?"
"Your second uncle opened a pig farm, and even though the market was good, there was an outbreak in a nearby city, affecting him. Recently, the pigs haven’t been growing as well as before, although inspections found no issues, but buyers refuse to believe it, or they’re taking advantage of the situation to offer low prices, so he can’t even cover the costs. Your second uncle refuses to sell at a loss, and there are thousands of pigs just sitting there, selling for nothing. He’s losing money every day, terribly anxious, and his hair is falling out in chunks. He’s considering handing over the pig farm."
Delia opened her mouth, then just said: "...Wasn’t my second uncle already bald?"
