Villain's Rising-Chapter 74 74. Normal Family Dinner
The place Sam was flying to was a dorm. His brother’s dorm mansion.
Sam met him outside his dorm’s gate, and after a short greeting and a long thank you from Micheal, Micheal created a warp gate, and they both instantly got to his house.
Sam found out that his brother was actually living in a fucking villa. A villa that surpassed any other villa in size that Sam had seen.
It’s been around half an hour or so since Sam sat down to have dinner with his “family”.
The first few minutes were awkward, then Micheal started having a one-way conversation. That means only he was talking, and Sam was listening while her mother was smiling at them.
To be perfectly honest, Sam wasn’t even listening to what Micheal was babbling now. It was something about how Micheal always wanted to spend time with his brother like this and stuff.
Sam was occasionally nodding his head while pretending to hear everything that he was saying.
However, even after half an hour, Micheal kept talking.
‘This guy… Doesn’t he know how to shut up and eat in peace?!’
(Not to mention his table manners! I mean, sure, it’s your home, but please eat gracefully!)
‘Sigh, was coming here a mistake….’
(I don’t know, you tell me).
‘He’ll be important for my plan. I need him.’
(Wrong, you just need his ability)
‘You can’t conquer a world alone!’
(Why not? Remember, Progenitor almost did that!)
‘And look where that got him? 6 feet under! Sigh, you understand me. You know my plan. We will need ‘him’ and not just his ability.’
(I don’t know, Sam. You’re predicting way too far ahead. What if things don’t go your way?)
‘Didn’t you tell me not to doubt myself?’
(Sigh, I guess you’re right. Fine, I believe in you. Besides, If something goes wrong, then we’ll handle it together)
Nodding, Sam looked around the dining hall he was sitting in.
The dining table alone was bigger than his dorm bed, even though his dorm is a mansion. The dining hall was quite spacious too.
It was clear that they were living in luxury. Sam snuck a look at Michael, who was still babbling and found him to be quite well dressed too.
He couldn’t help but feel a little bit jealous of them.
Sam was by no means poor. He was a Supervillain. If he needed money, he would just mind control some rich dude and get his inheritance.
But the money you earn, or “take” from other people, couldn’t compare to spending your parents’ money.
And although Angie sends him quite a lot of money every month, Sam has never touched a single penny of it. He just burns all of it in front of some poor kid on the streets or donates it to the Villain Association.
Sam had to take care of himself since he was a kid. He learned how to tie shoelaces, how to use a knife and fork, how to ride a bike, and things that parents teach you.
Even when he developed feelings for a girl, who, although turned out to be a bitch, Sam didn’t know what to do.
He had no peers, no real friends except for Kiara, and no real family. f𝒓𝑒e𝙬𝒆𝚋𝘯૦𝘷𝐞𝑙.c𝑜𝐦
And if that wasn’t enough, then his father used to kill him every day in his childhood just to bring him back and repeat the process.
Compared to the childhood Michael must’ve had, Sam couldn’t help but feel jealous.
“Brother!”
Hearing Michael address him, Sam shook out of his daze and replied to him.
“Yeah?”
“You listening?”
(He was talking about some guy attacking him in the forest)
“Yeah, you were talking about some guy attacking you in the forest.” Sam copy-pasted the response.
“Yes, so like, this guy said something about being sent by his sire. I think he’s in your class, anyway, so we fought, and I had the lead at first….”
‘Oh, for the love of God! Just shut up!’ with a smile that would put even the best actors to shame, Sam voiced his frustration in his mind.
“Okay, okay, Micheal, I think you’ve talked enough. Let Sam talk too, haha.” With a chuckle, Angie cut off Micheal’s story.
“You tell us, Sam. Did you face any Supervillain during the special exam?” Angie questioned Sam with a genuinely worried expression on her face.
“I, uh, yeah.” Sam nodded before turning to Michael. “That Villain they’ve been talking about, the one that Starsuper defeated in the end. I fought him.”
“Really? Did you win?” Micheal asked.
Sam wanted to roll his eyes at that stupid question, but he held himself back.
“No, but I fend him off. Three lightning claw strikes– that’s all it took.” Sam boasted about a battle that never happened.
“That’s so cool! I’ve seen your speed, but now I know your strength is on par with it too!” Practically fanboying over Sam by this point, Micheal spoke.
“What do you mean you’ve seen his speed?” Angie broke into the conversation.
“Ahh, remember when I told you about my duel with that Akima girl? Big brother saved a girl from a misfire with his lightning-like speed. I’m sure with excellent speed and strength; big brother must’ve fought that Villain to his retreat!”
‘I’ve told him not to call me ‘big brother’! Also, tell her that was your misfire!’ clenching his fist, Sam rolled his eyes secretly.
“Ohh, I remember reading reports saying that Villain was actually a Demon.” Angie shared. Although this information was unknown to the general public, Angie was a sergeant officer.
Every police and military personnel was notified about Starsuper’s suspension of the Progenitor’s return.
The attack on the special exam Island only turned those suspicions into definite proof.
“Yeah, and the ones who were captured are being ‘asked’ for any information on the matter. If the Progenitor really has returned, then this Villain group is under suspicion of cooperating with him since one of their members was a Demon.” Michael commented.
“Well, the Villain group couldn’t have done it alone. I think, and don’t you lads tell anyone this, I think there is a spy among the Academy. There’s no way this third-rate Villain group knew about the Island trip otherwise.”
“So you’re saying someone leaked this information to them, mom?”
“Yes, and not only that, I think that spy is a stud-“
Before Angie could complete her sentence, Sam cut her off.
“Wow, this is a very normal family dinner.” Sam sarcastically commented after seeing them exchange military-level information like discussing Sunday morning news.
“Haha! Sorry, mom and I always brainstorm during our dinner! Hahaha!” Bursting out in laughter, Micheal replied.
“Haha, yes. It’s our habit. And even after we decided not to do it tonight, we just ended up doing it again, haha!” Giggling, Angie said.
“No, no, it’s fine. I don’t mind. I’m enjoying it, to be honest.” Raising his hands in defense and putting on his best innocent smile, Sam said.
However, before anyone could continue the conversation from that point, the smile on Sam’s face turned into a slight smirk.
(Do it! Tell him!)
With an amused smirk plastered on his face, Sam opened his mouth.
“Besides, I know who might’ve leaked the information. I know who’s the spy.”
