Villain's Second Heart: Trapped in A Fantasy Novel (BL)-Chapter 130: Night on the Mountain Part 2
As Ezra wandered through the estate back to Oberyn, it wasn’t the Nephilim he encountered first - it was the Ferin.
Sprawled out on the floor on a fluffy carpet, Rav rolled onto his stomach and looked up at Ezra as he walked by.
"And where are you off to in such a hurry, hm?" the Sage smirked.
"You’re looking better already, Rav!" Ezra said, his spirits high.
"Yes, well..." Rav grumbled. He wasn’t feeling strong enough to get up off the floor, but he was happy to play off his incredible natural healing. "When you’re a Sage like me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a fall from 1700 feet or even getting cut in half. I’m...ah, how do they say? Built different?"
Ezra rolled his eyes. "You do have some sort of expedited healing though, don’t you? I’ve noticed the same thing with Ezra. With me too, honestly..."
"Yes, yes - none of the three of us are quite ’stock human’ after all, are we? Though I fear I do look a bit better than I feel. Perhaps you could...cheer me up?"
"Cheer you up?"
Rav’s tail curled up behind him in the shape of a little heart - Ezra was astonished at how flexible that tail was.
"Well, I did save an entire country single-handedly...maybe I’ve earned a single-hand from you?"
Rav winked flirtaciously but Ezra was already halfway out of the room.
"Wait, wait!" Rav yelped. "I was just kidding!"
"It’s like all you ever think about, I swear..."
"Not ALL I think about," Rav whined. "I also think about how incredibly suave I am. Did you see me extinguish an entire volcano!? Pretty cool, eh? Though I must admit, I can’t remember it too clearly..."
Ezra facepalmed. "How could I forget? You nearly killed both of us after."
Rav swiped his hand dismissively. "Semantics. We’re both alive now, aren’t we?"
"I hate to cut this short, Rav," Ezra said, changing topics. "But I want to go check on Oberyn. I’ll catch you later?"
"You boys have fun," Rav smirked. "But not too much fun! I seem to remember you suggesting that ’too much fun’ may involve me in the near future, hmmmm?"
Ezra blushed.
He did make a somewhat suggestive comment to Rav...but that was in a definite moment of weakness. He’d been hoping Rav would have forgotten.
But of course Rav didn’t forget.
"Ta-ta, Ezzie boy. You take care of that little Nephilim for me. Make sure he’s in tip-top shape when we have our inevitable rendezvous."
Ezra was bright red when he finally left the room and left Rav to his own devices.
’I thought he’d be a little more tame right now - isn’t this the house of the guy who he wanted nothing more than to convince he was a straight shooter?’
[Rav will always be Rav, for better or worse.]
’I figured, Alcor...hey, thanks for the assist earlier. I guess we never really got to talk about it.’
Ezra pondered back, his thoughts flowing into Alcor’s domain freely as he walked through the hallway to the room where Oberyn was resting.
[It was a delight for me, Ezra. Even if just for a short while, to have a body again...]
The words sent a tinge of hesitation down his spine.
Once, long ago, Rav warned him to never let Alcor ’out’. What would Rav think if he knew about the ’Starbeast’ that Ezra created?
He supposed it didn’t matter - it was a secret he’d keep close to his heart for now. Nothing bad happened as a result. Without Alcor, he wouldn’t have even been able to worry about this. He’d be dead.
"Hey, Oby," Ezra said quietly as he opened the door to the room. "Are you awake?"
"Yeah."
The Nephilim laid on his side, facing away from the door, despondent and in excruciating pain.
Yet even through all that, only one thing was on his mind.
January Madera.
"What’s on your mind?"
Oberyn stiffened as Ezra sat on the bed next to him.
"She...seemed so real..." Oberyn said, his voice barely a whisper. "I believed everything she said. We shared memories...she even remembered Tiana."
"Rav said she was being possessed by something, didn’t he? Your real aunt was..."
Ezra bit his tongue. Saying the words wouldn’t help, not in this moment.
Plus, he had something a bit more urgent to address.
Ezra withdrew the Corestone from his pocket and placed it around his neck. He took a deep breath and resolved himself as he looked at Oberyn’s curse mark.
It was highly developed compared to any time he’d treated it prior. It would take a long time for him to drain all the corrupted mana out of him.
"Hey, Oby..."
"Hm?"
The Nephilim turned to face him, perplexed.
"I’m gonna drain that curse mark for you, okay? Just...lay back and relax."
"But your mana - "
"Don’t worry about it," he said, reaching for Bree’s pendant. "Let’s just get you better, okay? Once we fix all that mana, you’ll be back to 100% in no time at all!"
"A-alright..." Oberyn groaned. Ezra smiled and pushed the Nephilim onto his stomach, mounting him from behind.
Ezra traced his fingers along the bulging veins of the curse mark, a flicker of sadness in his eyes.
"It’s going to be okay, Oby. Let’s get that healed up."
Ezra leaned down over Oberyn and bit the back of his lover’s neck, draining the evil out of him. His fingers laced around Oberyn’s hips to hold him steady as the Nephilim squirmed from the sensation of being drained.
For Oberyn, the feeling was profound - healing, as the searing pain of the curse left his body, and arousing because of who was doing the draining.
Oberyn gasped, finding himself in a new state of being. Before he met Ezra, he could never get aroused like this...but now, as a much more biologically similar being to Ezra, Oberyn also had burning desires within him.
Ezra bit and sucked, draining every last bit of the corrupted mana, guided along by the font of power inside Bree’s pendant. And finally, when he was done, Oberyn turned over and smiled, breathless.
"I feel better already," Oberyn smiled, color returning to his face. And then he wrapped his arms around Ezra’s neck.
"So...maybe it’s time for me to return the favor, Ez?"
