Void Cultivation-Chapter 211-
In the Sky Mist Sect, the cultivation arts of Foundation Establishment were only four. But these arts were extremely good arts that couldn’t be found in lower sects.
As Grey’s divine sense scanned the Jade Slip, he came to know of the first one. "Frost Butchering Art. This art leans into cold and extremely freezing territories. The purpose of the art was to seal cultivators magic power or Spirit energy in ice and frost. That frost will then be absorbed and used in finding nodes and breaking open future spirit perforations." That was the information of the first cultivation art.
"Life Demon Conqueror! This art uses mutated beasts, abominations or bizarre existences to break open future spirit perforations. The number of Spirit perforations opened is equal to the amount of Life Demons that have been conquered." Grey said without a rush.
"As for the third art, it is called; Soul Severing Dao. This art does not involve too much killing and can be cultivated over time. This cultivation art requires for one to severe their soul from their body, and use the power accumulated from it to find nodes and open spirit perforations." Grey sighed.
"The last one is the Ghost Phantom technique. This technique... is not well known because it requires for one to use the power of malicious spirits and ghosts to break open future spirit perforations. Although this method is the fastest of them all, it is also the slowest at the same time. And that is because malicious ghosts are always hard to come by, much less spirit phantoms that are very rare. From the description of this art, just one or two malicious ghost is enough to open a spirit perforation." Grey said before falling silent.
He decided to ponder on this matter before deciding which art to pick. Grey closed his eyes and remained seated for a long time.
It was only after four hours had gone by that he opened his eyes into a narrow slit.
"The Frost Butchering Art is good for those who practiced cold arts when they were in the Qi Accumulation realm. But to me who has no interest in learning any frost art, I would rather continue to cultivate my Cold Yin energy first before I do that. So that I would have great aptitude and my cultivation speed will be fast." Grey said softly. A bright glint shining in his eyes at that moment.
"The Life Demon art is very savage and requires for me for go out to hunt mutated creatures and bizarre existences. Although I’ve encountered them many at times, it would be better to avoid Bizarre existences than to search for them..." Grey did not say anything again before he turned his attention to the third cultivation art.
"The Soul Severing Dao may not seem powerful, but to me, it’s something that I can capitalize on. Although the description only said that it is used to severe the user’s soul and use the power to open perforations, I have a feeling that it can also be used on others as well." Grey thought inwardly.
"And as for the Ghost Phantom technique, I will not even bother to cultivate such art. If I am to guess right, then this art must have been created when malicious ghosts and phantoms roamed the land freely. But such things no longer happen anymore. And malicious ghosts and phantoms are very rare."
After thinking for a long time, Grey came up with a decision. "First of all, I will pick the Soul Severing Dao art. The Jade Slip did not say anything about picking two arts. But I guess there must be a reason why."
When Grey delved deeper into this, he found out that the arts were completely incompatible with each other. For example, the Frost Butchering Art was very incompatible with Soul Severing Dao art. While the Soul Severing Dao art was incompatible with the Ghost Phantom art.
But two of them could be cultivated at a time and did not affect each other. And they were the Life Demon art, and the Soul Severing Dao.
’If you’re on the dead sea, then the Life Demon art will be extremely useful. Because sea creatures also count as mutated creatures and many of them are abominations.’ Grey thought inwardly.
" The disciples of the Third Sequence are usually always on the sea, so I guess that the Life Demon art was made specifically for them. Once I’ve settled down as well, I’ll also return to sea, so it’s only wise for me to pick the Life Demon art. And I can also cultivate it with the Soul Severing Dao. The Soul Severing Dao does not need any external factors..." Grey said.
When a few moments passed, Grey had decided to pick the Life Demon art, and the Soul Severing Dao art. The Life Demon art employed the savage and brutal way of using the power of mutated creatures and abominations to break open spirit perforations, while the Soul Severing Dao employed a gentle method of Severing one’s soul and accumulating power to open each spirit perforations.
Both arts were very good, but the time the Soul Severing Dao art uses to severe a part of the soul and use the energy to break open a spirit perforation was very long. While the Life Demon art only needed mutated creatures and abominations to break open magic perforations.
With further ado, Grey requested for the Life Demon art and the Soul Severing Dao. And in less than ten breaths of time, it became available and in his own Jade Slip.
After taking a meaningful glance at it, Grey nodded his head before deciding to study the two arts later.
Before he left the cave abode, Grey changed to light blue clothes before descending down the mountain. He also had to report to the Detective Agency Department.
After being away for so long, someone else had taken his position as the Vice-captain. Grey was not upset though, his expression was calm as he stepped into the air and descended down the mountain towards the main city of the Sky Mist Sect.
As soon as Grey descended from the mountain, numerous gazes locked onto him.
They were not particularly powerful, most of them belonged to Qi Accumulation cultivators, but the sheer number of eyes watching him was enough to make the air feel tense. Grey let out a silent harrumph before calmly spreading his divine sense outward.
The instant those probing gazes brushed against his divine sense, they recoiled as if burned.
Shock. Fear. Reverence.
If Grey wished, he could locate every single person who had dared to observe him, tracing each gaze back to its source with ease. However, he chose not to pursue the matter. To him, they were insignificant.
The aura of a Foundation Establishment cultivator was more than enough to crush any improper thoughts before they could even take shape.
With an unhurried stride, Grey made his way toward the Detective Agency Department. As he walked, he gradually retracted his divine sense and suppressed his aura, sealing it tightly within his body. In doing so, he made himself appear ordinary, almost unremarkable. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Unless someone probed him deeply and deliberately, no one would be able to tell that he had already stepped into the Foundation Establishment realm.
Before long, the massive structure of the Detective Agency came into view.
As one of the core departments under the Sequence, it was a place most cultivators, and especially foreign races, instinctively avoided. Its very presence exuded pressure, as though the building itself had been stained by years of bloodshed and judgment.
Grey did not linger outside.
He stepped inside calmly.
The moment he crossed the threshold, countless gazes snapped toward him. Unlike before, these gazes were sharp, cold, and saturated with baleful auras. Dense killing intent filled the hall, heavy enough to make weaker cultivators freeze in place.
But this reaction was expected.
The Detective Agency also functioned as the sect’s Homicide Department. In truth, that was their primary role. Murders, disappearances, internal purges, these were the matters they dealt with daily. The name "Detective Agency" was little more than a veneer.
Their real duty was to handle all criminal cases, no matter how bloody or politically sensitive.
As the gazes bore down on him, Grey frowned slightly.
Without hesitation, he stirred the power of his Spirit Perforations. A faint trace of spirit power ignited within his body, like a spark catching dry tinder.
Boom.
A shocking aura erupted from Grey, surging outward in a silent wave. The oppressive killing intent in the hall was instantly crushed. One by one, the gazes locked onto him withdrew in alarm, their owners stiffening in shock.
Fear flickered in their eyes.
But mixed within that fear... was respect.
In this cruel and chaotic world, only one thing truly commanded reverence, strength. And Grey had already proven that he possessed it. He was no longer a mere Qi Accumulation cultivator. He had broken through and stepped into the Foundation Establishment realm.
That fact alone was enough.
With a cold, composed expression, Grey continued forward, heading straight for the Captain’s office. Although he was no longer the Vice-Captain, the bond between him and the Captain had not simply vanished.
Some relationships did not disappear just because a title was stripped away.
As Grey raised his hand to knock, the door opened on its own, moving unnaturally without any visible force.
Inside, the Captain sat leisurely behind her desk, her posture relaxed and her expression carefree, as though she had been expecting him all along.
Her long purple hair draped naturally over her shoulders, and she wore clean gray robes that subtly accentuated her figure without being ostentatious.
When she saw Grey, she didn’t act surprised.
Instead, she revealed a soft smile.
"It’s good to see you again," she said gently.
"Little Grey."
