[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor-Chapter 252 - 251 - Akaramaria kingdom VS Ariona church – Part 8.

"Shit! The hell is going on?! How the hell that large army got here without us noticing?" – said the vampire general on top of the wall as he gazed at the massive church army that approached the city.

(The city repairs aren't done yet and there is straight up way too many of them. There are also 2 holy beast with them!)

(Shit! Defending the city at it current state will be way more troublesome than head on fight!)

(We have no choice but to abandon the city.)

With the sudden attack of the church forces on the vurnable city, the organization forces had no choice but the flee.

However, the church forces were way too close and were able to purse the organization army and attack it, damaging it before they finally managed to get away.

And in the end of the day, the recently conquered city of Grax was taken back.

"Dammit! The hell is going on?!" – said annoyed vampire soldier.

"How the hell church soldiers got here without us noticing?"

"He is right. This doesn't make sense." – said another soldier.

"The directions where the church forces came from shouldn't had been possible without detecting them…. Unless they took an way around though one of the conquered territories."

"And both of these territories are controlled by the kingdom two generals….. By the look of things one of them had turned traitor and let the church armies though our detection and led them straight to us."

"That is the only logical explanation."

"What do we do?" – asked Thanatos.

"Should we inform the king about the betrayal?"

"Yes… But the problem is that we cannot wait." – said the general.

"We still don't know with one of the human generals are the traitors."

"If we launch an attack and attack our ally, we will be playing right into our enemies hands."

"We cannot take any actions until we find out with one of the generals are the traitors."

Upon receiving the quest, Thanatos had instantly detached herself from the army and began traveling in secret while the forces of the church gave chase after the organization army.

Thanatos carefully traveled though the territory under the controlled by the general Oukan and had finally managed to arrive near the city of Kari, an city of the church that was currently being occupied by the forces of the general Oukan.

(Something doesn't add up.) – though Thanatos who was on top of the tree and was using telescope to spy at the city walls.

(The city fortifications are in way too good state... I mean, I came here to find out whenever this bastard is traitor or not, but already the state of the walls…. Yea, it makes him already look sus like hell.)

(But this isn't enough of a proof. I need to go inside the city.) – though Thanatos before then merging with her shadow and then traveling towards the city gate.

Thanatos traveled quietly in secret towards the city and approached the gate that was being watched by the two guards, however both of them did not noticed the moving shadow slipping past them and entering the city though the gate.

(I'm in.) – though Thanatos as she reemerged from the shadows located in the back alley.

(Okay. Yea… He is definitely hiding something!) – though Thanatos as she looked around and saw the perfectly fine building everywhere.

(I literally don't SEE ANY DAMAGE AT ALL!)

(What the hell happened?! This place was taken over with the siege, so there should had been SOME damage done by the siege weapons…. But nothing?)

(Yea…. Everybody would instantly think that this bastard is the traitor.)

(Still, I don't see any of the church forces or the people wearing their armors. All I see are the kingdom soldiers.)

(I need an define proof that the general had allied himself with the church.) – though Thanatos as she used her stealth skill and began traveling though the city unnoticed while also looking around and trying to find anything suspicious.

(…. The soldiers are also in the good health…..And the control over this place is great…. But this makes them look even more suspicious.)

(However, I still haven't found any traces of the church among them and that makes thing problematic for me.)

(Looking around the army won't do. I need to spy on the higher ups if I wish to find anything.)

"…. I still don't get it." – said the knight A as he walked around.

"Why would the church full abandon this place?"

"Did the church just didn't see any value in defending this place? We did came here with an huge army, but still, they have those fire bird things, yes? So shouldn't they…. Well, be tougher opponents now?"

"Hell! We even scouted the territory around, but nothing came up."

(So does that mean that the church forces really abandoned this place?)

(…. But if that was the case, then why the hell the report stated that the siege battle took place?)

(I guess I have no options but to find the general and find out what is going on directly from him.)

(Well, I think the best course of action would be to check the castle first, since this is the most likely location where I will find the guy.) – though Thanatos before stopping fallowing the knights and starting to head straight towards the city castle.

(The castle has barely any defenses…. Well, no surprise there. There is no reason to defend it right now or anything.)

(If anything, isn't this place more like an large church? I mean based on the design it looks like an church…. Well, this place was founded by the church and stuff according to the informations.)

Thanatos in her shadow form slipped past the gate and easily entered the castle.

Upon entering the castle, Thanatos began wandering around, trying to find anything out of place.

(I mean, I get that there is no point of defending this place at all or anything, since it wouldn't serve any purpose.)

(But even so, shouldn't I encounter some people? Be it just servants or regular soldiers just wondering around?)

(The castle is way too quiet as well. I straight up don't hear anything.)

Thanatos wondering around the castle upper floor, checking out different rooms as well as storages, only to find nothing at all that would be an proof of the general betrayal or even some people.

(The hell is going on?)

(I checked almost all of the castle by now. I even checked most important rooms as well like the throne room and gathering room, but nothing.)

(And not only that, but I had not found an single living person at all.)

(Not even regular soldiers or that general.)

(Just why the hell is this place so quiet?)

(The only place I have yet to check is underground…) – though Thanatos as she traveled in secret through the castle, before then arriving at the underground parts of the castle.

(Still nothing?) – though Thanatos as she wandered around in the unground corridors.

(Honestly, I don't even want to undo my stealth right now since things are creepy like hell right now.)

(I honestly wouldn't be surprised that as soon as I would undo my stealth I would end up getting ambushed by some people just waiting around.) – though Thanatos before carefully door that led downwards towards the underground prison.

(Nothing here as well, eh? Even the cells are clear as if they were never used before.) – though Thanatos as she walked around prison.

(If anything, they look bit…. Comfy? I mean, there is somewhat proper beds in here and even rugs here and there…)

Thanatos suddenly stopped and noticed something off about the nearby prison door.

(Wait…. Why this one is opened?) – though Thanatos as she approached the bar door that was very slightly opened and pushed it, confirming that the door is opened, before then approaching different bar doors and checking them, only to find them locked.

Thanatos carefully entered the prison cell and started looking around, turning around the bed and lifting up the rug, only to not find anything.

(Tch. So, somebody just forgotten to lock it? Really?)

(God dammit. I thought I hit the jack pot finally.)

(Wait….) – though Thanatos before leaving the cell and then walking back into it.

(Why this room is only room with chains hanging around?)

Thanatos grabbed the chains and began messing around with them, before then pulling them, causing an weird noise to be heard behind the wall that alarmed Thanatos.

Thanatos began slowly pulling the chain while observing the wall and as she saw it slowly moving its bricks around before then completely removing them and revealing an hidden passage leading downwards.
