VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn-Chapter 221 Surprise Title
Chapter 221 Surprise Title
Arthur's words were stopped in his mouth as he saw the notification.
He hadn't thought that he would get a notification at this time as they usually didn't pop up around the log out time. Not to mention, he hadn't exactly done anything to warrant it either.
'What is it?' He wondered as the notification changed.
~DING~
>Player Arzhur has obtained a title!<
——
[Title: One who survived 10 days]
Info: Only those who have spent 10 days without dying while also being involved in combat are granted this title.
Effect: The player's stats are boosted by 1% for each day they do not die. The maximum increase is 10%. If they die the stat increase is reset to 0.
——
"It… IT'S THIS!" Arthur cheered out loud. "AHAHAH AHA!" he would have jumped in joy if not for the fact he was stuck between the two boulders.
~SHUA~
And before Arthur could celebrate any more, he was forcefully logged out.
>Player Arzhur has been logged out!<
The flurry of colors filled his vision as he arrived back at the desktop screen.
But this didn't mean that Arthur's excitement had lessened at all. Wishing to celebrate it, he didn't wait and quickly got out of the Dream Pod V3. 𝑏𝑒𝘥𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑒𝘭.𝘯𝑒𝑡
~hiss~
"WOOHOOOOO!" The moment the lid of the Dream Pod opened, Arthur sprung out of it like a rabbit.
"HELL YEAH! I ALMOST FORGOT THAT I WAS CLOSE TO GETTING IT!" Arthur thrust his hands in the air and jumped around.
Thankfully his apartment had decent insulation due to the thick walls and sound proofing was excellent. Otherwise the people living below and next to him would have been quite bothered.
Especially since it was early morning and there would be no lack of groggy people at this time. Arthur had already experienced this in his previous tiny apartment.
But now he didn't need to worry about that and could enjoy as much as he wanted.
It took Arthur nearly five minutes to calm down but the excitement within his heart was still ever present.
'All this time I had been striving to not die for this very title, and I finally got it!' Arthur smiled like a cat that had gotten the canary.
The Title: One who survived 10 days seemed rather simple and straightforward to get… But it wasn't so.
It was a title that had hidden conditions and could not be acquired easily since most players failed the very first condition on the day that they logged in.
Many times, they failed the condition just a few minutes after logging into the game the very first session.
This basic condition was none other than to 'not die'.
Which most players obviously couldn't fulfill as they were new to the game. Even for experienced gamers, Morpheus Online was an entirely new experience and as such even they died a couple of times.
Of course, one would assume that they could simply turtle in the safe areas of the newbie village and simply not go out to get killed by the mobs.
But even that wouldn't work as their hunger stat would fall to 0 and then their HP would fall killing them before the 5th day. One could try to do some quests in the town to buy more rations, or get others to give them, but it would still not satisfy the second condition.
The second condition to get the title was to actively go out and face danger. One couldn't stay in the safe areas all the time, or they would still become ineligible.
The exact time of being in 'hostile' areas to satisfy the title's condition was actually unknown even now.
'They simply speculated that not dying for 10 days would be enough, and I was trying to make it last as long as possible.' Arthur thought to himself.
No one knew how much out of the 10 day span did one need to spend in dangerous areas and how much could be spent in safe areas. Arthur thus aimed to not die until he obtained the title.
He had forgotten about this goal of his in all that he was doing and hadn't even realized that he was so close to the threshold.
But these two were still relatively simple conditions to fulfill compared to the third one. Though this was also the condition that Arthur had fulfilled the earliest.
The third condition was none other than to simply be above level 10.
For most players hitting level 10 in 10 days was not possible… at least not in the past. Arthur's interference had skewed that and now more players were able to reach level 10.
Finally, there was the fourth condition that one needed to fulfill.
This was that one needed to be in an hostile area at the time of fulfilling the first three conditions in order to obtain the title.
As such, even if Arthur had fulfilled the first three conditions, if he was in a village or a town he wouldn't have gotten the title. But if he stepped out of it into the wild, he would have triggered the fourth condition and satisfied all the requirements.
With four conditions combined together, the title was indeed quite hard to obtain.
In fact, in Arthur's previous life the person who had actually gotten this title was a very late player. Even later than when Arthur started playing it.
Perhaps it was due to that very fact that this player managed to fulfill all these conditions.
'It was a player from one of the top 10 guilds… The Six Tree Guild. Or rather… the son of they guild master who was carried by the others since the start.' Arthur recalled.
Of course that was not the first time some privileged person had been carried by others to level up faster and in safety. With how the game was, there was no assurance of true safety and players could still end up dying.
As such, even with all that protection the players who were being carried by others still died.
