VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn-Chapter 243 Delaying Players And Taking Advantage
Chapter 243 Delaying Players And Taking Advantage
Players could go to the first city on their own of course, but that was not the official way of going there.
Plus, it would also be risky for them as they would have to face the dangers all on their own as well as have a great possibility of getting lost. As such, the game provided a standard method of reaching a city.
When a sufficient amount of quests were fulfilled in a town, a new mission would be issued. This was a mission to escort surplus goods that were gathered through the players to the nearest city.
This way, not only would the players learn the way, they would also progress.
Of course, there were towns where players had already figured out how to go to the city, but these were mostly towns with higher ranked players who had good skills. There were other towns that didn't have players that were as skilled and they would be stuck without being able to go out for too long.
As such, to not make their progress stagnant, such a mission provided an opportunity in an organic way that didn't provide any undue advantage or become a crutch to the players.
But with all this, Arthur knew this mission was supposed to happen at least a month or two later.
'My guide in leveling up as well as gathering the coins seems to have charged the progress much more than I thought. If they are ready to do this in just a couple of weeks, the progress has been skipped by at least two months.
Hmm… if they can reach Samson City in that time, I'll have to speed up too. I'm already at level 25, so getting there shouldn't be as much of an issue if I add my free stats. And I might just be able to hit level 30 by then too.
Let's see… if it's two weeks, that's about fourteen days… which turns to about a little over 4 days in the real world. That's gonna be real fast.' Arthur started to analyze how he would go about this.
If he only had four days of login, he might be cutting close.
'I guess I can just rush to Samson city first and grind there. The areas there are dangerous but will also grant me levels— WAIT! There are Draconids there too… lower population but I can still hunt them for more stats!' Arthur smiled under his helmet.
With that in mind, Arthur looked at Caleb again while the man continued to speak.
"You will be sending a shipment in two weeks then?" Arthur interrupted the man.
"It is highly likely." Caleb nodded his head. "The warehouses in the town are almost filled up. With the rate of harvest we have of materials, we will need to export or we'll just be wasting them. Of course, we can halt that, but that also means the stopping of coin flow. I doubt the merchants and shopkeepers would like that." He explained.
"Of course." Arthur nodded his head. "What about the path? You know the otherworlders have no idea how to get to Samson city, right?" he asked.
"Yeah… I've seen them getting lost in the town. I don't know how much worse it can be once they're out." Caleb sighed.
"Do you have any maps to Samson city ready?" Arthur asked. "You'll definitely have to supply them for their work."
"We do have a few, but they're all official maps with more details than should be given to others. We certainly cannot show those to the Otherworlders… they are not all as trustworthy as you." Caleb stated.
"Why don't you get some people to start making 'basic maps' to Samson City by then?" Arthur suggested.
"We can… but I don't think we have enough skilled people to make a sufficient amount," Caleb replied. "With the people we have, it'll take at least three weeks to do so." He added.
"Then it's simple. Have them start making maps, and also slow down the quests or at least reduce the output just enough to not harm the cash flow, but reduce the supply. I'm sure delaying it by a week won't be much of an issue.
That way, the supplies will be stocked enough to prepare shipments as well as the maps to guide the Otherworlders." Arthur suggested.
"Hmm… that does make sense. It'll also give us more time to prepare for contingencies. After all, Captain Fredric is still not here." Caleb replied. "I think we'll do as you suggested. I'll talk with the others and get things started." He added.
"Great, I'll also work on some things till then." Arthur said in a pleased tone.
'There we go, I got another week to level up.' Arthur smiled under his helmet.
This way he could prevent the players from reaching the city and he'd still be able to exploit the advantages that he wished to keep.
"Yeah sure, I don't have much for you to do right now anyways," Caleb replied.
"I'll head off then, goodbye." Arthur left the room and went to find Val.
'I can take Val on a grinding tour today and then I can head to the city tomorrow.' Arthur thought to himself.
"I'm here!" Suddenly Arthur heard a voice as well as someone waving furiously from afar.
He looked there and saw Val standing on a stool and waving at him. With her small stature, she would have been hidden in the crowd of players and NPCs alike. Arthur gestured with his hands and asked her to come outside.
"Ok!" Val made a thumbs-up gesture.
The two quickly met outside with slightly better privacy and could talk without having to shout over the noise.
"Here!" Val took out a small coin pouch. "This is what I got from the sale of the corpses. It was a loooooot of hauling, though." She said.
Arthur glanced at the pouch and found them to be around 40 Silver coins.
"40 silver coins?" Arthur asked.
"Whoa! How did you do that?" Val was surprised.
