Warlock Apprentice-Chapter 1423 - Section 1424 Rewards
Chapter 1423: Section 1424 Rewards
Chapter 1423: Section 1424 Rewards
This is what it means to lose control.
The phrase echoed continuously in Angel’s mind as he pondered the scenes previously described by Frost—ordinary undead, special undead, Legendary-Level undead, and even the spirits of fallen deities had appeared.
Such an uncontrollable mysterious object, should you step in carelessly, would entrap you in these reincarnation cycles.
Not everyone is as powerful as Frost, able to break through twenty reincarnation cycles. Many more would be assimilated by the cycle, eventually becoming part of its scheme.
Angel dared not imagine, if he entered this chaotic Reincarnation Casket, whether he could ever leave?
The answer was negative.
Even though he possessed the Samsara Overture, it was practically useless against Legendary undead and spirits of fallen deities.
What’s most important is that such disordered mysterious objects are like landmines.
Hidden in darkness, you wouldn’t know there was an unexploded bomb beneath you until you stepped on it. And once you did, the consequences need not be spoken.
And according to Frost, there wasn’t just one of these uncontrollable items.
They were scattered across various domains, with different methods of triggering them. Once ensnared, there was virtually no chance of escape. Only those like Frost, who sought out uncontrollable artifacts, could possibly evade their grasp.
“However, even for Mystic Hunters, the chances of reclaiming uncontrollable artifacts are actually not high,” Frost remarked with a sigh. “When it comes to those semi-unsolvable artifacts, you have no choice but to run; and if it’s an unsolvable one, not even escape is an option.”
“Unsolvable artifacts? What is that?” Angel asked curiously.
Upon the mention of unsolvable artifacts, it seemed that Frost thought of something, his expression tinged with an indescribable melancholy and sorrow, taking a long while before replying, “Due to confidentiality agreements, if you join the Orderly Guild in the future, you will naturally learn of these secrets. The only thing I can tell you is that each of these unsolvable artifacts has annihilated a miracle.”
Annihilated a miracle? Angel didn’t react at first, then suddenly his head shot up, his pupils filled with disbelief.
“To annihilate a miracle, could it mean…” Angel’s voice trembled inexplicably.
“You’re not wrong, that’s exactly what it means,” Frost nodded and said softly, “Let’s change the topic. Having too good a memory isn’t always a blessing for a wizard; a single term can make me think too much.”
Frost paused: “Let’s talk about the reward given by the Reincarnation Casket. Haven’t I mentioned before that my visit to Black Castle is also related to this uncontrollable mysterious object? The main reason lies in that reward.”
Under Angel’s curious gaze, Frost continued: “This reward isn’t particularly great, it’s even fair to say it’s pretty poor.”
“After breaking through twenty reincarnation cycles and freeing myself from the Reincarnation Casket, a set of coordinates formed in my mind.”
“These coordinates led to Black Castle.”
Hearing this, Angel was still a bit muddled—wasn’t this supposed to be a reward? Just a coordinate offered as a prize? What kind of reward was that?
Frost said, “The significance of this coordinate is not just the location it points to, but rather it signifies that there is something at this location. Now, do you understand what I mean?”
Angel paused, recalling a recent time when Isabel had asked Frost if he had come for Princess Mandhela. Frost had affirmed, indeed he came for Mandhela, and he had stressed, “I am here only to verify something, and I have already found the answer.”
To verify something and to have found the answer—originally, Angel hadn’t grasped what that meant. But if it’s connected to the reward given to Frost by the Reincarnation Casket, it seemed that the answer was vaguely taking shape.
“The reward given by the Reincarnation Casket, is it Mandhela?!” Angel exclaimed.
Frost replied, “To be precise, it awarded me with a special undead’s coordinates.”
“To break through twenty reincarnation cycles only to give me a set of coordinates, that obviously doesn’t adhere to the principle of proportion,” Frost muttered to himself. “But there’s no helping it, an uncontrollable mysterious object having the notion to grant a reward is fortunate enough. If it can be successfully reclaimed and handed over to those old fellows of the guild to restore order, perhaps they would just directly gift a special undead…”
Angel looked somewhat troubled: “Should I return Mandhela to your honor?”
Frost shook his head: “No need, I have said, my coming to Black Castle was just to verify the reward given by the Reincarnation Casket. I am not a Soul Witch, and I have no need for a special undead.”
Frost’s refusal also allowed Angel to breathe a sigh of relief.
He had not yet studied much of the data on Mandhela and was reluctant to just hand it over to someone else.
Angel now understood why Frost had appeared at Black Castle. Isabel had originally misunderstood, thinking it was because of Princess Gumman and King Gumman’s relationship that Frost came, but it was not so.

Everything was a matter of karmic affinity.
However, destiny had seen to it that this karmic affinity be laced with a coincidental twist of fate.
“You just asked me if my task was to fight against the disaster and then overcome it, didn’t you? Now you should understand, my task indeed is to fight against the disaster, but to overcome it, that is far too difficult,” Frost sighed quietly to himself. While he was meant to be explaining to Angel about losing control, it was he himself who was more moved by the sentiment.
Frost composed his complicated feelings and steered the conversation back on track, “Above all, these are the three states in which Mysterious Objects are categorized by their level of stability, each tier implying the necessity for higher-level intervention. But this represents only the higher intervention by Mystic Hunters, not the strength of the Mysterious Objects themselves.”
Angel nodded, gaining much from Frost’s words.
Although Frost touched upon many topics only briefly, the more genuine face of the Wizards’ Realm began to unfold before Angel’s eyes in a new tapestry.
All of this would be part of the new world that Angel would touch upon and ultimately explore in the future.
After this topic was temporarily concluded, Angel had intended to continue inquiring along the lines of Frost’s explanations, “How is the strength of the Mysterious Objects classified?”
But before he could voice the question, Frost preemptively said, “Let’s leave today’s topic there for now.”
“In a while, you’ll have other matters to concern yourself with…” Frost’s last sentence was very soft, almost as if he were talking to himself.
Before Angel could grasp the meaning of Frost’s words, he saw him stand up and methodically pack away the carved Coufeng bottle from the table, “The water I gave you earlier, called Black Randi Soft Water, has miraculous effects when combined with Coufeng. You’ll know soon enough.”
After a pause, Frost continued, “Just escaped from the Reincarnation Casket, I’m too exhausted. I’ll be staying at Black Castle for a while. I hope you’ll reconsider my earlier proposition, as the Southern Domain is too barren; going to the Origin World would provide you with much greater opportunities for development.”
“Before I leave Black Castle, if you change your mind, feel free to come to me.”
After Frost had said his piece, he turned and left, leaving a bewildered Angel behind.
…
Angel took a moment to gather his thoughts and pulled out his notebook, recording everything Frost had told him.
Once he’d finished making notes, he planned to check on how Popota and Hua Que were getting along in the bracelet then go look for his Mentor, to see Mandhela trapped in Gravity Garden…
Angel had made good plans, but unexpected events always seemed to occur first.
Just as he was preparing to extend a Spirit Tentacle out of his Spirit Sea, before he could even create an exit within the Spirit Sea, a spasm suddenly spread throughout his body.
Without warning, Angel bent over and collapsed onto the sofa. His entire body trembled slightly, and veins bulged on his forehead as though suppressing something.
He felt as if his Spirit Sea was about to explode, with waves of spiritual vibrations undulating like tides.
It was not just his Spirit Sea; this painful state was spreading elsewhere.
As Angel felt discomfort, sudden footsteps reached his ears.
“Are you alright?” The low, hoarse voice carried a hint of urgency.
The person was none other than Sanders, meticulous in his dress and demeanor.
Just a short while ago, Frost had sent a message to Sanders, asking him to check on Angel. Taken aback, he immediately set out.
This observation startled Sanders.
He saw Angel’s whole body trembling, the veins on his forehead standing out, and a subdued energy about him, like a prelude to an uncontrolled release of power.
“What has happened? Did he do something to you?” While Sanders spoke, he activated his True Sight to inspect Angel’s condition.
