Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System-Chapter 106: Saving From Desperate Situation
The Colossus lifted him higher, preparing to tear him apart completely, and in that moment, Imran understood, if nothing changed, this was the end.
Memories began to surface. He remembered how he first arrived here, the moment he awakened, the battles he fought, and how his bond grew stronger with Raghav, Neha, and the others.
He closed his eyes, hoping for a peaceful end. But it never came.
A blast of fire struck the Colossus’ arm, direct and violent. Flames spread instantly across its armored surface, forcing its grip to loosen.
Imran dropped down on the ground hard, coughing as he rolled to his side, gasping for air. Even before he looked, he already knew who it was.
"Thanks, Pooja sis... if you hadn’t come, I’d be gone by now..."
"Tch."
Pooja glanced at him with clear annoyance, "Only I get to bully my teammates. Not some zombie."
Her flames flared again, hotter and sharper. The Colossus let out a low, heavy roar as its attention shifted from Imran to her.
"Stay back if you can’t move," she said without turning. Imran forced himself up, his legs shaking.
"...I’m not out yet." He stepped forward again, empty-handed now, his shield gone, relying only on his reinforced body.
"I’ll hold it. You attack."
Pooja smirked slightly, "Good. Don’t die this time."
The Colossus moved faster than its massive arm swinging toward her. But she vanished and reappeared to the side, "Too slow."
Her hand ignited. "Blazing Impact!"
She slammed fire into its side. Flames burst outward, searing through the cracks in its armor and forcing it to stagger.
"Now!" she shouted.
Imran moved. Despite the pain, despite his battered body, he charged forward, grabbed its leg, and locked it in place.
"Move, you damn monster!!"
His muscles trembled as he pushed, managing to restrict its movement just enough. The Colossus reacted instantly, swinging its other arm down toward him. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
The blow landed.
"UGHH—!!" Imran coughed blood but didn’t let go.
"...Not... moving..." Pooja’s eyes sharpened.
"Good." Her flames condensed again, this time focused and precise. She aimed directly at the cracks in its armor.
"Piercing Flame."
A narrow stream of fire shot forward like a spear, piercing through the gap and driving deep inside.
The Colossus froze for a moment, its body trembling before it let out a violent roar.
"GRRRRRRAAAAAAA—!!!"
Heat spread through its body, glowing faintly red from within.
"It’s working!" Imran shouted.
"Then don’t let go!" Pooja raised both hands again, flames intensifying. "Let’s break you completely."
But the Colossus didn’t fall. Its body pulsed again, and the cracks slowly began to close. He started regenerating, even under intense heat.
"...Annoying," Pooja muttered. In the next instant, the Colossus moved again. With a violent motion, it shook its leg free and backhanded Imran.
"BOOOOM!!!" He was thrown away, crashing across the ground.
"IMRAN—!" Pooja shouted. The Colossus turned fully toward her now, its focus absolute.
Pooja stood still as flames rose around her once more, her expression turning completely serious.
"...Fine. You want me?" Her flames surged violently, growing brighter, hotter, more dangerous. "Then come."
The Colossus charged at her.

While Pooja saved Imran, Raghav saw it out of the corner of his eye.
A small sense of relief crossed his face. "...Good... he’s alive..."
But that moment of relief cost him. The Hulking was already in front of him.
A massive punch slammed into his guard. Raghav barely managed to raise his arms, but the impact crushed him and sent his body flying backward.
"THUD—!" He crashed across the ground, rolling several meters.
Before he could even get up, the Hulking was already there. Its leg came down with force.
Raghav rolled to the side just in time as the ground exploded where his head had been.
"...Damn it!" He forced himself up, but his movements were slower now.
The Hulking grabbed him again. This time, it didn’t slam him immediately. It began to beat him. A punch drove into his ribs. Another struck his back. One hit straight into his chest.
"UGHHH—!!" Raghav’s body shook with every impact. His breathing broke, his vision blurred. He tried to fight back, throwing a punch of his own.
It barely did anything to Hulking. The Hulking didn’t even react. "...This... damn monster..."
Another hit came. This time, he was slammed into the ground harder than before, the earth cracking beneath him.
He grabbed his launcher desperately and fired upward at point-blank range.
"THOOOM!!!" The explosion pushed the Hulking back slightly, just enough. Raghav dropped to the ground, gasping for air.
"...Haa... haa..." But even that didn’t last. The Hulking stepped forward again, unaffected, its body already regenerating.
It grabbed him once more, this time by the neck.
"GRRRR—!!" Raghav’s eyes widened as his feet lifted off the ground. The air stopped flowing.
"...Ngh—!!" The grip tightened slowly, crushing. The Hulking raised him higher and began slamming him again into the ground.
Lifted and slammed again. Again. And again. Each time, his body bounced weaker, slower. Blood spread across his armor as cracks formed. His strength was fading.
A weak laugh escaped him. Because now he wasn’t holding it anymore. He was being played like a ragdoll.
The Hulking raised its fist again for another crushing blow, and this time, Raghav wasn’t sure if he would be able to stand again after it.
So he closed his eyes. For a brief moment, his mind went blank.
"...So this is it..."
A faint thought crossed his mind. If only someone would save him like Imran had been saved. With that, he let go of resistance and waited for the punch to land. But it never came.
"...?"
A second passed. Then another. No impact. No pain. Raghav slowly opened his eyes. And what he saw froze him.
The Hulking’s arm, the one meant to crush his face, was gone, completely blasted apart. Flesh and bone were scattered across the ground.
"ROOOOOOOAAARRR!!!" The Hulking roared in fury, its arm already beginning to regenerate.
But before it could fully reform, "THOOM."
A distant shot echoed. The regenerating arm exploded again.
Raghav’s eyes widened. "...No way..."
Enraged, the Hulking swung its remaining arm, aiming to smash him instantly.
"THOOM." That arm was blasted apart mid-swing as well, fragments raining down around them.
Now both arms were gone, even if only for a moment.
Raghav slowly turned his head.
Far across the battlefield, he saw James. Lying calmly, sniper steady, scope still locked.
Raghav raised his hand weakly and gave a small salute. A silent thank you.
In the distance, James saw it.
"...Tch. Don’t give me salutes. Finish it fast."
He muttered while adjusting his aim again, though the distance was too far for Raghav to hear.
Still, Raghav understood. He let out a slow breath. But there was no time to rest.
Right in front of him, the Hulking’s arms were already regenerating. Raghav wiped the blood from his mouth, tightening his grip as a bit of strength returned.
"...Alright..." He stood up again, barely steady, but his eyes were clear.
"Let’s finish this... before he runs out of bullets."
The Hulking roared once more, its arms reforming as it charged forward again.

While Imran and Raghav were saved, the battlefield around Neha and Vikrant had already collapsed.
Vikrant struggled, but this time he was caught.
The Shadow Lurker had him.
Its long, distorted limbs wrapped tightly around his arm, unnatural and suffocating. Its face hovered close, twisted into something almost mocking, as if it was enjoying the moment.
Vikrant gritted his teeth.
"...Damn...!"
He tried to move, but his body wouldn’t respond properly, because even now he couldn’t tell what was real.
Behind him, Neha watched.
Her eyes were wide, her breathing uneven. In her vision, multiple versions of Vikrant existed, some standing, some falling, some already dead.
"...Which one...?"
She saw his arm being pulled, slowly and brutally, about to be torn apart.
"...Vikrant—!" She raised her gun, but hesitated. She didn’t know which one to shoot.
The Shadow Lurker tightened its grip, pulling harder as the strain increased.
"CRRRR—" The tearing had begun. It pulled with full force, but nothing happened.
"...?" The Shadow Lurker froze and confused. Why did nothing happen?
It looked at its own arm. In the next instant, "SHHHK—!" Its arm slid off, cleanly severed, falling to the ground.
The illusion flickered as the Shadow Lurker slowly turned its head and saw Arjun standing there, his sword lowered, his expression calm and cold. He hadn’t made a sound, just one movement, one clean cut.
The Shadow Lurker roared in fury, its body flickering violently as it tried to disappear again.
Behind him, Neha blinked as her vision stabilized slightly. The illusions weakened.
"...Arjun..." Vikrant dropped to one knee, clutching his arm. It was still there. Still intact.
"...Damn... you took your time..." Arjun didn’t reply. He simply adjusted his grip on his sword, his eyes locking onto the Shadow Lurker.
