Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 53: Prospering business
Two weeks passed just like that.
Nothing really happened in these two weeks since I had been confined to my courtyard.
This was an order that came from Liu Ao Xue on her authority as the sect master, so I had no choice but to follow her order. It seemed that this was a punishment for me being too wild in the city, but I knew that she was most likely angry over the collar comment. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Still, that didn’t apply to Lin Li Zi since the order for house arrest was only for me, so she was still able to go to the store every day.
The Transport Array worked perfectly and she was able to go to the city in the morning and come back to the sect at night.
I wasn’t able to follow her, but I made sure to grill the two lackeys every day on what happened.
Especially Wang Fu...
I couldn’t make a single mistake with him or else I would surely regret it when the time came.
But now that two weeks had passed and the house arrest had been lifted, I was finally able to go to the city with them to see how the business was going.
Though I could see from the look on Lin Li Zi’s face that she wasn’t happy that I was going along with her.
Was it because it was embarrassing to go with her big brother or if it was that she was afraid that I would spend even more money, I had no idea. However, I was happy that I was able to go and see the efforts of my little sister’s hard work.
When we stepped out of the Transport Array, I couldn’t help being surprised by the noise that hit me.
This wasn’t the scene that I had expected to see, but there it was in front of me.
When I looked out of the office, I found that the restaurant was completely filled with people and there were even more people waiting outside. Then looking out the window, I found that there were a bunch of people walking around in the street, going to the different stores that were on this street.
Just two weeks ago, this place had been completely barren.
But now...it was filled with people.
What was happening?
I looked at Lin Li Zi with a surprised look, but she just had a triumphant smile on her face and it didn’t seem like she was going to say anything.
So I turned to the manager who was working at the desk and asked, "What’s going on here?"
When the manager heard me, he looked up with an excited look and said, "Young master, business is booming because of the ideas of the young miss!"
"Huh?" I couldn’t help being confused when I heard this, but there was no denying what he said since I could see that there were plenty of people who were in the restaurant.
I just couldn’t understand what had happened.
So I said, "Tell me everything, start from the beginning."
The manager nodded before telling me the story.
It turned out that I had played a role in this...
When she had started this business, I had told her that I had one condition for her business.
That was to have everything be free for the first week.
I didn’t care how much she lost because I would pay for it and I had even thrown out a thousand low grade spirit stones for this.
It turned out that this was the start of this restaurant’s success.
After all, what people loved the most were free things.
With how good the food at this restaurant was, it only took a single person to start bringing in more customers.
By the second day, this restaurant was completely filled with people.
But of course, that alone wouldn’t have been enough to create this kind of phenomenon.
Lin Li Zi had doubled down when she recognized the effect that this free promotion had and before any of the neighbouring stores could realize what was happening, she had bought them out.
Though she didn’t give the same offer as me, her offer was still considered generous to the other stores.
So now, the entire street was owned by her.
With the money that I gave her, she had the other restaurants on the street give free service for the rest of the week as well which drew in even more people.
At the same time, she offered promotions for the other stores that would allow people to buy items at rock bottom prices during that week.
When the week was over, she returned the prices to normal and even if there was a small dip in the number of customers, most of them actually stayed.
That was because Lin Li Zi had found that the quality of most of these shops were quite good. They could even compare to the shops that were out there on the main street.
The only problem was how remote this store was, which meant that most of these shops weren’t able to get any customers to spread their fame.
Now that Lin Li Zi had found a way to bring customers in, that problem had been solved.
It was now time to rake in the money.
While I felt proud for my little sister capitalizing on my selfish request of trying to waste money to make this street a success, I was still worried since it meant that this store was starting to earn money.
This store was an asset that I had bought with the money from the system, so if she earned money...wouldn’t that mean that I would start losing points again?
I later learned that she had also bought the rest of the street with the money that I gave her, so it was also included in the amount that I had wasted. I hadn’t looked at the store for the past few days, but it seemed that my points had indeed increased.
So did that mean that the better the stores did, the more points I would lose?
There was a strong internal struggle inside of me until...the system spoke.
