Wealthy Beauty in the 60s-Chapter 692 - 695: The Performance of the Grandchildren
Feiyi’s son’s formal name was Gao Zhiyin, but everyone called him Duoduo. Duoduo had a hearty appetite, and Li Manzi’s milk was simply not enough to satisfy him, so he often needed additional milk to be full.
Li Manzi was quite frustrated, too; this was her second child, yet her milk supply was even less than before, not enough for the baby’s needs.
Adding to Li Manzi’s distress was that despite all the nourishing she was doing in her confinement period, she had put on a lot of weight. When she saw her own figure, Li Manzi couldn’t help but wail in dismay.
Once the baby had reached his one-month milestone, everyone, except for Feiyue and Shitou who were abroad, returned.
Duoduo, blessed with a good appetite, grew strong and chubby, with plump arms and legs and a round, cuddly face that was utterly adorable.
Feiyue, Ye Jia, and Shitou took turns video calling to see Duoduo. Unable to return, they resorted to keeping up with Duoduo through videos and photos.
Nevertheless, to help Li Manzi recover, Feiyi insisted she complete a two-month confinement, which really wore her down.
Two months later, Li Manzi resumed work. Since she didn’t produce much milk, Li Manzi could only feed Duoduo once in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Gao Jiaxing and Xia Xiao cared for him the rest of the time, which meant Duoduo mostly consumed formula.
This time, Xia Xiao and Gao Jiaxing skipped their travels; they had nearly covered the whole of China domestically. Besides, with a new grandson to dote on, they spent every day revolving around the little one.
With all the other grandchildren studying away from home—Beibei and Xiaoshu were in university, and Shitou was pursuing a PhD—Duoduo brought great joy to Xia Xiao and Gao Jiaxing.
Feiling’s children, Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin, lived nearby and often came to play. They preferred their maternal grandparents’ home over their paternal grandmother’s.
However, Jing Chengyuan, the daughter of Jing Hao and Wen Shufei, felt a particular fondness for her older cousins. If Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin didn’t visit her, she would often go to play with them and sometimes stayed at the Gao family’s home.
Wen Shufei was currently very career-driven and didn’t have much time for her daughter. However, if Jing Chengyuan’s grades slipped, she was sure to get lectured. Beyond school, Wen Shufei had also enrolled Jing Chengyuan in various hobby classes.
Calligraphy, painting, piano, guzheng, dance, music...
Jing Chengyuan was pushed to learn all these things every day and would rush to play with her cousins whenever she got the chance.
Although Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin had never had their IQ tested, the siblings all had good grades and learned with ease, which even left them time to play.
They would visit Tianyu International or go on set to observe filming, act in television shows, or write scripts for novels. Despite being young, they showed a keen interest in these activities.
Especially Yangyang, who at fourteen, had started writing online novels, delving into the mystery and detective genre. While his work still showed room for improvement—the first one was somewhat immature—the second showed clear progress and had even attracted interest for its rights.
Yangyang didn’t tell his family until a publishing company approached them, hoping to purchase the rights to his second mystery novel; that’s when Jing Yao and Feiling found out.
Since he was a minor, his guardians had to sign off on the contract. At the time, Feiling didn’t think much of it; she thought it was good for her child to have fun and didn’t pay much attention, not expecting the child to produce anything significant.
But to their surprise, Yangyang’s writing was quite good, making his parents incredibly proud.
Liangliang, stimulated by his brother, thought daily about how to make money, and naturally, his thoughts turned to gaming. Although aware that Yangyang wrote novels, whether they were good or not was one thing; Yangyang was already making money, while Liangliang was not.
Liangliang’s favorite pastime, however, was playing video games. Gaming was a shared passion among Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin, and the siblings often played together in the gaming world.
Once Jing Chengyuan caught a glimpse of the fun, she insisted on joining in. Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin then included Jing Chengyuan in their games. As one might guess, given Jing Chengyuan was only twelve, she became somewhat addicted to gaming. When Wen Shufei found out, she became dissatisfied and even spoke directly to Feiling, hoping that Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin wouldn’t lead Jing Chengyuan astray and affect her studies.
In Wen Shufei’s eyes, Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin were smart but they were not focusing on the right things, and Jing Yao and Feiling weren’t supervising them. Such children, if left unchecked, what could they become?
As a result, Yangyang, Liangliang, and Xinxin stopped taking Jing Chengyuan along to play games. Jing Chengyuan felt lost for a while, but soon, under the impetus of Wen Shufei’s strong encouragement, she immersed herself in her studies.
Wen Shufei intended to raise her daughter to be a lady of high society, to marry well in the future, so naturally, she didn’t want her daughter to waste her talents by being frivolous.
In 2018, Beibei graduated from university and joined the military, followed by Si Hexuan who also enlisted.
That same year, Xiao Shanyue graduated from university, took the TOEFL exam, and went abroad.
In this year, Weilin’s daughter, Fang Xiqing, turned eighteen and was also studying abroad.
Shitou, Gao Peize, seventeen years old.
Beibei, Gao Liyi, seventeen years old.
The children were all independent, leaving Feiyang and Li Min free from worry, allowing them even more time to dedicate to their responsibilities in the military.
Xiao Shu, Gao Jiashu, seventeen years old. Both Feiyue and Ye Jia were very busy, so Xiao Shu often hung out with Shitou. Proximity to red makes you red; proximity to ink makes you black. After sticking with Shitou, Xiao Shu benefited a great deal. His progress in his studies skyrocketed. Although he didn’t match Shitou’s achievements, his performance in school was outstanding enough to turn heads.
Huanhuan, Gao Zhiyao, sixteen years old.
Lele, Gao Zhiqi, sixteen years old.
The two sisters focused primarily on sports with music as a secondary pursuit. Aside from training and competing, they enjoyed studying music together, creating songs, and even releasing new pieces online.
While Li Manzi was proud, she was at times speechless regarding her daughters because sometimes they released their works without consulting her first.
Therefore, Li Manzi hired assistants for her two daughters. Initially, she wanted to share a manager with them, but Huanhuan and Lele both refused.
Although the two sisters had been athletes for a few years and had won numerous awards in various competitions, when it came to music, they were still newcomers.
Moreover, they didn’t want to reveal their relationship with their famous mother just yet, as they were still new to the music industry and didn’t want to lean on her fame.
For Huanhuan and Lele, their focus was mainly on being athletes, and music was merely a way for them to decompress and spice up their lives. Hence, their attitude towards music was very casual, resulting in creations that appealed to the youth and were beloved by many.
Jianjian, Gao Yurui, fifteen years old.
Kangkang, Gao Yuchen, fifteen years old.
They didn’t exhibit the same prodigious acceleration in their education as some of their older siblings, but they also performed very well in school. However, teachers had extreme opinions about the twins.
They found Jianjian to be the most troublesome, but Kangkang the most endearing.
