I woke up the next morning to the familiar sight of Renata laying on top of me and acting as though she was fast asleep.

I yawned and tapped on Renata, "Time to wake up Renata."

She groaned and wiggled on top of me, "Unngghh... Why do we have to wake up this early? There’s nothing to do today for us, right, Daddy?"

That’s true...

Because of the attack yesterday, we do not have any Exo-Knight testing scheduled today or even for the next few days to be exact.

Obviously the reason was that they were expecting that there might be another attack and the station was going on full alert for the next few days.

Unfortunately, I realised that I was right in my assumption that the station was also using the Exo-Knight test pilots as part of the security team so they had to be rotated out into patrolling with the Exo-Knights in case of another attack.

Luckily, we weren’t scheduled for patrol since the Exo-Knights they use for patrols are personalised for each of the test pilots and we didn’t exactly have an Exo-Knight of our own.

Instead, we were just expected to use our ship to sail out to face the attackers in case they come back again.

But when there’s no attack... We basically had nothing to do.

Still... It felt weird to be so idle when everyone else is quite literally being busy with preparing for an invasion of sorts.

"It’s still not good to just lay around, Renata. Come on..." I chided her.

She wiggled on top of me again, making wet squishing sounds from underneath the blanket as she gyrated her hips on top of mine.

"Mmmm~ Could Daddy give me a quick load of your honey before we get up?"

I was just about to decide to go along with it before the door bell rang.

Renata turned towards the door with a look of dissatisfaction on her face, clearly not amused that she was interrupted.

I sighed, "Come on, Renata. Let’s go..."

She grumbled a little before she melted into a puddle to cover my entire body while I swung myself out of the bed, my eldritch maid reforming herself back into my usual clothes right as I slid out of bed.

I walked over to the door, heeled boots forming over my feet as I moved until they were fully covered as I reached the door.

I pressed on the control panel to open it to see Theresa standing behind it, the modded dragon girl looking quite restless for some reason.

She jumped a little when she saw me, as though she was not expecting me to answer the door to begin with.

Honestly, I was actually expecting to see Amber or one of my lovers instead so I was quite surprised to see her there.

I tilted my head at her, "Theresa? Do you need something?"

"Ah... Miss Tera! I... I apologise for coming here so early in the morning! Umm... I hope I’m not disturbing you?"

I felt Renata squirming around me, clearly wanting to tell her that she was indeed disturbing me but she managed to hold her tongue.

"Not at all," I assured her before gesturing at myself. "As you can see, I’m already properly dressed and awake. Is there something you need?"

She poked her hands together, "Well... Umm... I just want to preface this by saying that I heard this from others and I’m not sure if it’s true or not... But if it’s true... Umm.. Sorry... I’m rambling a little but... Ahhh... Where do I start?"

I raised an eyebrow at her, "Seriously, what is it? Is there a problem? Did I do something bad yesterday or something?"

She quickly shook her head, "No, no, no! That’s not it at all! Umm... Ahhh... I don’t know if I can even ask this... Screw it! Miss Tera! Is it really true that you have a Verlandi in your possession?!"

I blinked at her, "Eh? Umm... Yes? It’s my personal ship actually."

She gasped, "Really?!! You really have a Verlandi?! What variant is it?!"

"Err... It’s the original variant."

She froze up and her eyes went as wide as saucers.

"The... The original variant? It’s... It’s not one of the modded variants?"

I shook my head, "No, it’s the original variant. Why?"

She suddenly reached out and grabbed my hands to hold it in hers, "You really have an original variant?! Please, please, please!! Let us see it!!"

I was about to ask if she’s a fan of the ship when I remembered that Yumiko mentioned it was harder to find someone who wasn’t a fan instead.

My pause in responding, however, made her misunderstand that I was not willing to show it and she tightened her grip on my hand.

"It’s not for free, Miss Tera!! It’s not just me who is interested, the Head Researcher and Head Engineer are also interested!! I can get them to personally help in designing and making your personal Exo-Knights if you let them see it too!!"

"Oh, you mean Rosalia and Friederike?"

"You’ve already met them? That would make things easier! The word has already spread around the station that you have one and I’m quite literally being begged to ask you to let those interested see the ship! If... If I don’t give them a proper response... They might actually kill me!"

Err... I know that this is you trying to get sympathy and emotionally manipulate me to accepting it... But honestly this isn’t really that big of a deal to me so I don’t mind showing you guys the ship, you know?

Now that you’ve also thrown in the promise of getting those two to help with our personal Exo-Knights, there’s even less reason for me to reject.

Sure, those two might be a little off the rails but after I spent time with them yesterday, I figured out that they’re actually really competent in their work. The only thing is that they haven’t had good testers until now.

So if I were to be personally involved... I believe they would do a pretty good job.

I raised my hand, "Alright, alright... No need to panic. I don’t mind showing the ship as long as it doesn’t get damaged..."

She nodded her head quickly, "On my life, I will make sure that it remains in pristine condition!!"

"Although... There’s no way I’m going to let a whole bunch of people on board my ship just to see it... I suppose I could fly it out of my ship’s hangar but is there a place where I can dock it so that people can see it?"

"Of course, of course! We have plenty of space in the ship hangar that you can use! Just fly it there and I will make all the arrangements!!"

"Then I’ll leave it to you I guess. When do you want it?"

"Right now, if possible!"

"Really? Even with all the things happening right now? I thought we are on full alert in case those insurgents show up again?"

She shook her head, "There’s no need for you to worry, miss Tera!! Those that are on duty will do their work properly! Your ship will come under no harm!!"

I’m actually more worried about the station and people getting attacked than my ship getting attacked, girl... You’re speaking as though you’d much rather throw people in front of the ship to prevent it from getting damaged than the other way around...

Whatever... She must really like the ship I guess.

"In that case, I’ll head over to my ship right now and fly it to the hangar. Can I leave the rest to you then?"

"Yes!! Please leave it to me!!"

Without waiting for an answer, she rushed off, presumably to tell the others the good news and to arrange for a spot for my ship to dock within the hangar.

Renata’s voice came from my collar, "She’s weird, Daddy..."

"I’m literally wearing you as my clothes right now, Renata... I think on the weirdness scale, we overshadow her by a big amount."

I smacked my chest, "Behave. We’re in public."
