What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?-Chapter 821: Scanning Psionics
It took them a while before they woke up again.
Rosalia sputtered, "Oh... What happened? I had a weird dream that there were two more Psionics in Tera’s crew..."
I looked down at the rabbit futa who was laying on my left thigh.
Friederike was also stirring as she laid on my right thigh, the goat girl letting out a groan, "Really? That’s weird because... I think I have the same dream as well..."
I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Sorry to disappoint the both of you but that wasn’t a dream."
The two of them blinked before suddenly sitting up at the same time to look at me.
"What?! That wasn’t a dream?! Do you really have another two Psionics on your crew, Miss Tera?!"
"Truly, Miss Tera?! You are not joking are you?! We not only get to see one Psionic in action but three in a single day?!"
I didn’t say anything and just pointed in the direction of my girls instead.
They turned to see Amber and Mara just nod at them instead of showing off their abilities this time, hopefully avoiding another fainting incident from them.
The two of them immediately leapt to their feet and I thought they would start asking Amber and Mara to show off their capabilities in the Testing Dome but... They were looking at me with wide eyes instead.
"Miss Tera? Who exactly are you?" Friederike asked.
I blinked at her, "What do you mean?"
"I mean... Your crew consists of three Psionics... I have at least heard of rogue Psionics that aren’t part of the Noble Families acting outside of their influence... But that is already something that is incredibly rare... For a crew to have two Psionics is practically unheard of unless they are related to each other. But three Psionics that aren’t nobles in one place? I think you would have a higher chance of winning the Galactic Lottery than coming across something like that..."
Well... I don’t doubt that... I’m quite surprised when they first revealed the fact that they were Psionic to me.
In fact... I would say both of them were hiding their Psionic abilities pretty well and I probably would never have found out if they did not admit it to me...
I would have believed Amber’s fire powers were a result of a gene mod instead of it being a Psionic power if she had used that excuse.
Also... When they say ’rogue Psionics’, I believe they’re referring to illegitimate children born from Noble Families who awakened their Psionic powers later outside of their influence.
They are different from me as their lineage could still be traced back to an existing Psionic lineage while I’m the literal start of a Psionic lineage.
I shrugged, "I guess I’m just lucky?"
Rosalia, "I would say that’s a huge understatement..."
"So do you want them to test their abilities in the Testing Dome as well?"
As if finally recovering from their stupor, Rosalia quickly turned to them and nodded excitedly.
"Oh yes please!! If either of you could just go in there and show us some of your abilities, that would help us with the design of your Exo-Knight!"
Amber and Mara shared a look, as though trying to decide who should go first.
Eventually, Mara stepped forward first and headed into the dome.
Rosalia and Friederike started the test where they also made targets appear and Mara simply tossed them around with her telekinesis.
She didn’t really do anything crazy so it was just business as usual for her.
The two researchers almost looked disappointed to see that Mara was just doing normal telekinetic stuff.
Mara then returned, prompting Amber to take her place as she floated into the Testing Dome.
She stood in the centre for a moment before she suddenly burst into flames, bending the fire around her as she used it as a booster to fly around the dome.
Both the goat girl and bunny futa let out screams of excitement as they watched her shoot out fire balls to blast her targets apart.
I was worried that the fire would damage the cubes but they seem to be quite resistant to flames as they weren’t even charred by her flames.
Or maybe Amber was intentionally holding back in order to limit the damage on them...
Either way, it was still an impressive sight and it made Rosalia and Friederike marvel at their screens while making impressed noises.
They did give her some specific instructions like having her burn some of the cubes and also making her maintain a large flame for a set amount of time before they called her back.
She flew out of the Testing Dome and landed on the viewing platform, looking at me with a proud expression on her face.
I suppose she was expecting a response from me so I reached out and patted her head, "Good work."
She let out a cute squeal before she pulled me in for a kiss unashamedly, though the two researchers barely noticed as their attention was completely captured by the data they were receiving on their personal terminals.
She let go of me at the same time Rosalia and Friederike looked up, their expressions looking confused for some reason.
"Miss... Amber, correct?" Rosalia called out.
Amber did a pose, "That’s me! Tera’s cute and adorable lover!"
... Ok, that was actually pretty cute. I kind of want to kiss her again.
Rosalia looked down at the screen again, "I take it that you are undoubtedly an Elemental Psionic, right?"
"That’s right. Is there a problem with that?"
"Hmm... Not really... Just... It’s interesting... I mean... There’s definitely some preconceptions about Psionics and how they work... But... I suppose Miss Tera is an outlier considering the fact that she’s a first generation Psionic so records of that could be different... But..."
The rabbit futa trailed off, sinking deep into thought.
Friederike took over and turned her gaze to me, "Why is it that Miss Tera has a much higher concentration and quantity of Psionic energy than you do? When she isn’t an Elemental Psionic?"
Amber shrugged, "Like you said, she’s a first generation Psionic and a naturally awakened one so that might be the reason why?"
I thought that might actually be the reason as to why my Psionic energy was more than hers until I remembered something pretty important...
Amber did not awaken her Psionic powers naturally... She was given drugs in order to get those powers...
Obviously she wasn’t going to tell them that so she had to just use this as a reason to explain it.
Fortunately the two of them seemed to accept that as the reason and went back to looking at their screens.
"This is... Really a lot of data..." Rosalia muttered, scrolling down her screen that was showing several graphs and charts.
Friederike nodded, "If this gets out... There might be a huge uproar over this..."
Mara spoke up, "Which is exactly why this will never get out, correct? Once this deal is done, every single piece of information you have here will be scrubbed clean, correct?"
The two jumped a little from Mara’s not so subtle threat before they quickly nodded their heads.
"Absolutely! We’ll make sure there are no traces of any of this will remain after we are done! You can leave it to us!"
Mara gave me a pointed look, not so subtly showing that she trusted this two about as much as she trusted her own family... Which is to say not at all.
I leaned towards my collar, "Renata?"
"Ehehe~ Don’t worry, Daddy! I’ll insert a copy of myself into their systems to make sure nothing gets out and everything is erased! If they even try to do anything with it, I’ll let you know!"
How reliable.
I still have a question though...
"So what are the results of my scan? I’m actually quite curious about it."
Rosalia flicked her hands to bring up another screen and took a moment to inspect it.
"Umm... Like I mentioned earlier... Your Psionic readings are quite literally off the charts...."
The screen changed to show a picture of a line graph where the line actually goes above and out of the graph itself.
And to supplement that, there was also a bar graph beside it where the bar stretches way past the boundaries and the numbers displayed underneath it was just a mess of squiggles because the computer had to squeeze all the numbers within that space, making it illegible.
I tilted my head, "Ok... But umm... What does this actually mean?"
Rosalia hesitated before looking in the direction of my girls, making me wonder why she would even look at them to begin with.
Mara was the one who answered me instead, "It means that you are special, Captain. That you are... Very different... From other people."
What? What do you mean-- Ohhh...
I’m someone not from this universe... Got it... I should just keep my mouth shut then...
