Zhou Yan smiled and followed the show’s format. "We’ve already seen your VCR and gotten to know you a little. Yi Ru, did you bring a talent to perform for us today?"

Tan You readily agreed. "Then I’ll perform a dance for everyone. I’m not the best dancer, so please bear with me."

The male contestants immediately believed her and made up their minds. Even if her dancing was completely mediocre, they would lie through their teeth and praise her anyway.

Normally, overly difficult dance moves can feel like mere showboating, sacrificing beauty and artistry. But Tan You’s performance was different. Her routine was nearly impossible to imitate, and the ethereal grace in her every move was utterly captivating.

The entire performance lasted only about five minutes, but it seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Before they knew it, she had finished and was bowing to the audience.

Zhou Yan walked onto the stage, amazed. "That was absolutely stunning. I have never, ever seen a dance so beautiful. Are you a professional dancer?"

Slightly out of breath, Tan You replied, "No, I just studied dance in the past. It’s a hobby of mine."

"To reach this level as a hobby is incredibly impressive." Male contestant number 7 spoke up before Zhou Yan could cue him, his gaze burning as he looked at Tan You. "Can you do modern dance? Would you be willing to perform a duet with me?"

"Modern dance?" Tan You looked a little surprised. "I know a little, but this outfit isn’t really appropriate for that, is it?"

Zhou Yan immediately jumped in. "That’s no problem! We can give you time to change your clothes. Besides, the male contestants could use a break. I think a few of them had their hearts skipping a beat while watching you."

Tan You didn’t turn down the offer. "In that case, give me ten minutes."

The moment Tan You went backstage to change, filming paused, and the male contestants began to talk amongst themselves in small groups.

Number 8, Xu Yuchen, looked at number 7, Sui Chao. "You’re... interested?"

Sui Chao didn’t hesitate. "Yes. She’s an incredible dancer, and she seems to have a great personality."

Sui Chao then turned to Zhao Zhao. "Brother Zhao, what about you? What’s your impression of her?"

Zhao Zhao fell silent for a moment. "She’s a very captivating contestant, but..."

He didn’t finish his sentence. He just had a feeling. ’This contestant seems too cold, as if she’s just here to go through the motions, not to actually find someone.’

Sui Chao said, "I agree, she’s incredibly captivating. She’s not the bubbly, extroverted type, but for some reason, I can’t take my eyes off her."

Contestant number 6 chimed in, "You feel that way too? She has this sophisticated poise, the kind that comes from worldly experience."

While the contestants were talking, Tan You quickly changed out of her classical dance costume. This time, she wore a simple t-shirt and jeans. Her recently styled hair cascaded over her front and back in loose, lazy waves.

When she walked back on stage, the host and the relationship experts at the side showered her with praise. By then, contestant number 7, Sui Chao, had already moved to the center of the stage. He looked at Tan You and said, "I really like the song ’Summer Wind.’ Are you okay with that one?"

Tan You understood. She let out a small sigh of relief. ’Thankfully, it’s not that overly intimate duet I was worried about.’ "I can do that," she said. "My modern dance is just so-so. You’ll have to lead the way."

Sui Chao chuckled. "That sounds familiar."

Someone in the audience laughed. Just ten minutes earlier, she had said the exact same thing, and everyone had taken her at her word. The result was that they had all been left completely mesmerized.

So now, everyone just assumed Yi Ru was being modest.

And sure enough, once the upbeat, youthful song began to play, Tan You matched every single one of Sui Chao’s moves. Despite it being their first time dancing together, their chemistry was undeniable. However, because her foundation was in classical dance, she carried traces of its unique elegance even while performing modern choreography.

Her smile was radiant, her movements light and rhythmic, yet the shadow of her classical training was still visible in every gesture.

This kind of upbeat dance was perfect for livening up the atmosphere, and the studio soon filled with cheers and whistles. Sui Chao was clearly enjoying himself. ’She’s beautiful from a distance,’ he thought, ’but even more stunning up close.’

Sui Chao gently lowered Tan You to the floor. Zhou Yan walked back on stage at the perfect moment. "Was that really your first time dancing together? The relationship experts, Teacher Hu and Teacher Xia, and I are all speechless. Your chemistry is off the charts!"

This time, Tan You was genuinely out of breath. She took a moment to recover, then said, "Perhaps it’s just the natural chemistry dancers have. Plus, I’ve seen the choreography for this song before. He is very professional. Thank you for leading the dance."

"No way! You’re the most handsome guy here," number 8 said, surprised. He immediately raised his hand, and Zhou Yan called on him.

Number 8 was very direct. "We can all see that you’re gorgeous and an amazing dancer, and we know you’ve never been in a relationship. So I’m really curious—what kind of guy do you like?"

Tan You paused to think. "I’m not going to talk about vague things like ’instant connection’ or ’love at first sight.’ Ultimately, we all have to come back down to reality."
