When Will My Childhood Sweetheart Marry Me?-Chapter 12 - 0: It Turns Out the Little Fairy is a Top Student
Tang Xing couldn’t contain himself and as soon as he returned to the classroom, before his seat even got warm, he dragged Jiang Shuyao aside and began to mutter his thoughts to her.
Jiang Shuyao thought her desk mate was probably talking about some ghost story, saying that Pei Yan had taken a liking to her.
Heh, if that jerk really liked her, would he deliberately turn on the air conditioning in the car to freeze her in the morning?
Seeing her indifferent, Tang Xing started to analyze the situation seriously, each point seemingly valid, and at the end, he didn’t forget to add, "I believe I’m not the only one here with this idea, Yaoyao, you’re just too close to see it."
Jiang Shuyao was helpless, she wasn’t confused at all, she was very clear.
The truth was, that grudge-holding jerk was purposely messing with her.
The more she pretended not to know him, the more he wanted to provoke her.
And that was the most detestable part, like a cat playing with a mouse, catching it but not in a hurry to eat it, instead toying with it first to satisfy its vanity, utterly twisted.
Jiang Shuyao would rather let everyone know she and Pei Yan, that bad egg, were childhood friends than to spur such ambiguous and unclear misunderstandings.
Misunderstandings are a scary thing; if everyone on the scene thought that way, it would be the end of it.
With about ten minutes left before class, Jiang Shuyao planned to use the free time before class to return an umbrella to Class Two, but after what happened at the snack bar, she hesitated.
The boy who lent her the umbrella was from Class Two, in the same class as Pei Yan.
By taking the initiative to go there, that little rascal would surely take the chance to show off. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
However, Tang Xing thought of a solution for her, which was to ask for outside help, and that help was none other than the class president, Lu Chen.
Speaking of Lu Chen, he was the pride of Class Six, not only great in his studies but also a good person. He was always eager to help with any big or small matter in the class.
Moreover, whenever the class president took charge, even the most difficult problems were solved in minutes, his value no less than that of the homeroom teacher.
After listening to Tang Xing exhaustively praising him, Jiang Shuyao simply smiled and said nothing. She actually knew about Lu Chen quite early on, having met him at the physics competition at Qi Middle School where they were in the same examination hall, and they had inadvertently gotten acquainted because of a 2B pencil.
Lu Chen had taken the morning off but was supposed to come back for the afternoon classes. Asking him to help return the umbrella shouldn’t be a problem.
With the umbrella issue resolved, Jiang Shuyao felt much more relaxed. The last period was math class, and as soon as she got the monthly test paper, Tang Xing immediately stretched his neck to see, "Wow, Yaoyao, you got full marks!"
The little desk mate was so excited he nearly bit his tongue. Before long, the classroom was filled with eyes all turned towards Jiang Shuyao.
As a rocket class, scoring full marks in math was nothing extraordinary.
But many people missed out on full marks in this exam due to that particular starred question—the correct answer wasn’t B, it was C.
In the class, only the class president, Lu Chen, and the transfer student, Jiang Shuyao, chose the right answer.
The teacher didn’t rush to explain. Instead, she left twenty minutes for everyone to think about the trap in the starred question.
The students of Class Six were all top-notch, with highly developed brain cells. Many of them, upon calming down and reviewing the question, had an epiphany.
During the exam, when time was tight, nobody would think to double-check a question similar to one they’d done before; being misled was normal. Those who weren’t misled were rare examples of humility among experts.
Only humble people are willing to spend an extra minute to scrutinize a question, especially one that appears deceptively simple.
In the end, the teacher asked Jiang Shuyao to go up and write the solution process for everyone.
The girl’s back was graceful as her porcelain-white wrist held the chalk and wrote line after line of steps on the blackboard. Her chalk writing was excellent, neat without losing fluency, a pleasure to the eyes.
After writing the solution process, at the teacher’s indication, Jiang Shuyao gave a simple explanation of the solving technique. As her voice fell, the classroom immediately burst into an admiring murmur.
"My goodness, so it can be solved like this, feels even more concise than the method the teacher explained before, the transfer student is amazing."
"Of course, she’s amazing. An old friend of mine goes to Qi Middle School, and she told me yesterday that Jiang Shuyao was the top student in her grade there."
"The top student from Qi Middle School transferred to Yunzhong? Are you sure your old friend wasn’t joking?"
"It’s true, you can check Qi Middle School’s honor roll on their official website if you don’t believe me, and see if the top name isn’t Jiang Shuyao."
With that said, it was definitely confirmed.
Qi Middle School in Rong City was almost like a sacred altar among all schools.
The fact that the transfer student came to Yunzhong was like a deity descending.
What they never imagined was that this quiet-looking, pretty girl who didn’t talk much was actually a top-notch academic master.
Indeed, appearances can be deceiving; just because someone is good-looking doesn’t mean they’re just a vase.
