White Online-Chapter 649: The Night of the Crimson Moon.
As Isaac grabbed the doorknob, he could hear the rapid, panicky breathing coming from the other side of the door.
He slowly opened the door and immediately heard ''bang''. It was all too familiar sound to him.
Oliver pulled the trigger of his revolver, which he held with two hands. As the recoil struck his hands, his fingers broke like fragile twigs. It was the result of using Legendary Weapon with his fragile mortal body.
''Ahhhhh!'' As his scream reverberated in the room, the bullet flew across the room.
Isaac's knees buckled as he suddenly ducked underneath the bullet. The bullet grazed past his snowy white hair and struck the wall at the end of the hallway.
Thud... the revolver fell down to the ground as Oliver's fingers were broken—he couldn't keep holding it.
After seeing the bullet missing, Oliver's scream of pain turned into despair. He fell on the ground, his face drenched in sweat. It was truly depressing to see everything failing at the finishing line. He thought he could finally get his revenge and finish off the bastard who ruined his life. However...
Isaac stopped before Oliver, his gaze growing colder as seconds flew by. He knelt on the ground, picked up the revolver and placed the muzzle against Oliver's forehead.
''You should have stayed in prison.'' Isaac said coldly as he placed his finger on the trigger. ''You could have earned forgiveness that way... but alas.''
''I-I don't want to forgive you!'' Oliver screamed. ''I want to ruin you! Like... you ruined me!''
''You... are indeed stupid!'' Isaac gritted his teeth and slammed his fist into Oliver's left eye, leaving behind an eye-sized bruise. ''This all happened because of you! You brainless ape, full of lust and resentment!
''You are not better than some brainless animal!''
''Then kill me!'' Oliver pushed his forehead against the revolver's muzzle. ''It's same as killing an animal, isn't it?!''
Isaac gritted his teeth and very much liked to pull the trigger, end this feud once and for all. However, he had a hunch that Oliver wanted it—to have a easy way out.
''No... not like this.''
''!?'' Oliver's eyes widened in surprise as Isaac suddenly grabbed his head and then both of them disappeared into a glowing specks of green light.
...
''Aah...'' Oliver screamed as the bright light slowly disappeared. He then saw a snow-filled city, with beautiful skyscrapers, bustling streets, and a bright atmosphere. They were back at Snowstar.
However, there was clear tensity in the air as the netizens didn't look that cheerful. They all had faces of worry, anxiety, and slight fear.
''W-Why... did you take me here?'' Oliver turned to Isaac, who stood behind him with a revolver in hand.
''I don't want you to ask for forgiveness from me.'' Isaac said. ''I want you to ask forgiveness from others who you have hurt.''
''E-Eh?''
Isaac grabbed Oliver by his collar and hopped off the roof of a small two-story building. They landed on a yard of modest-looking building. They were right in front of Amanda's house.
''T-This is?'' Oliver turned to the neighborhood building. It was where he lived with his family before ending up in prison. However, now it seemed like the building was empty. His family had moved away.
Isaac walked over to the door and knocked on it twice.
''What are you doing?!'' Oliver shouted and looked down at his ragged clothes. He looked like a beggar. He still had feelings for Amanda, so he didn't want to let her see him like this.
Isaac didn't listen to him and waited.
A few quiet footsteps came from the other side of the door, and the door was hesitantly opened. Anthony, Amanda's father, peeked out from the gap in the door and was surprised to see Isaac. But then, he saw Oliver and became angry.
Before he could rain profanities, Isaac blocked the view of Oliver and shook his head. Anthony's mouth closed and he frowned. He wondered why Oliver was here.
''Isaac, what is this?''
''He is here for a talk.'' Isaac said, and threw Oliver into the house.
As a loud thud echoed downstairs, Amanda and Amy walked down from upstairs, wondering what the sound was. As soon as they saw Oliver, they paled and looked over to the door. They were slightly relaxed after seeing Isaac and Anthony, but still confused.
Isaac lifted the hem of his jacket and placed the revolver between his trousers and his skin. Then, he hid it underneath his jacket. He entered the house and whispered to Anthony before they both moved over to the kitchen, leaving Oliver alone with Amanda and Amy.
Oliver's face was flushed in pink. He was incredibly embarrassed and felt like the death would have been better.
In the kitchen, Anthony asked for the reason why Isaac brought Oliver here.
Isaac sat on the wooden chair and said, ''At the last day of his life, I have hopes of him finally doing something good.''
''Hmm?''
Isaac didn't say anything else and waited. Anthony sat on the chair while peeking over to the living room. He saw Amanda and Amy, slightly frightened of Oliver.
Oliver didn't speak a word.
That lasted for an hour, before Amanda finally spoke. ''Oliver... can you leave?''
Hearing her, Oliver's heart finally shattered, and without thinking twice, he stood up and stepped out of the house while muttering. ''Sorry...''
Isaac stood up from the chair. ''All of you, stay safe. It's not safe anymore...''
Anthony, Amy, and Amanda nodded. They exchanged hugs before parting ways.
As Isaac left the house, he saw Oliver sitting on the snowy ground, looking over at the icy blue sky.
''Can you... let me see the moon one last time?'' Oliver asked. ''Let this be my last... request.''
''...fine.'' Isaac grabbed Oliver by the head and disappeared into glowing specks of light. They appeared on the roof of the tallest skyscraper in Snowstar. There, they could see the entire Snowstar and even beyond.
As the hours went by, the sky turned orange before it was dark. They looked at the starry sky and saw the destroyed moon. Oliver couldn't believe his eyes. The moon was destroyed?
Isaac's eyes looked pained, then he turned to the south and saw another moon looming in the distance. With his excellent vision, he could see three other moons. As far as he knew, they were inhabited, unlike the moon that was destroyed.
The three remaining moons, strangely glowed in crimson hue... It was a night of a Crimson Moon.
