White-Robed Chief-Chapter 1191 - Reject
Chapter 1191: Reject
As the matter stood, Chu Li inhaled and exhaled before he sat on the cattail hassock.
“Close your eyes,” Master’s Junior Hua instructed.
Chu Li closed his eyes.
Master’s Junior Hua retrieved a shiny black stone that looked like a mini inkstone that had a hint of strange brilliance.
He held onto the stone, then shut his eyes slowly.
On the other hand, the others stared at him without blinking.
Apart from Chu Li, the rest had experienced this before. They knew that they would end up in a dreamland where they would remember their deepest memories. By the time they awakened, the stage that reflected their conscience was completed. It was just like a dream, but they would never remember what was asked.
Eventually, the black stone shone so brightly that a black and shiny light spread out to wrap around them. They began to dream and they were slowly led to their deepest, most memorable memory.
Unknowing of the time, when the others woke up, they saw that Chu Li was bowing at Master’s Junior Hua with a fist salute.
Master’s Junior Hua furrowed his brows at Chu Li, then pondered.
Earlier when Master’s Junior Hua had operated the Conscience Stone, those within roughly 0.3 miles entered a dreamland where they had opened their hearts for his interrogation.
Master’s Junior Hua was able to enter their dream, where he could clearly see everything as if he had experienced them personally.
This was the wonder of the Conscience Stone. It was said that it did not belong to this word, and came from the Outland instead.
The dream that Lu Guangdi had was about his deceased mother, as well as his father. There was a strong display of his mixed feelings for his father. Lu Guangdi was grateful for the Primary Heaven Pill given by his father but he also hated his father for being merciless toward his mother and for being harsh toward him. Lu Guangdi was determined to master martial art skills to defeat his father so that he could live in exaltation for his mother.
While the dream was very ordinary, Master’s Junior Hua somehow felt that something was odd. It was an indescribable feeling that Lu Guangdi was in a strange state.
Even though it was minor, Master’s Junior Hua handled it cautiously as this was the first time in hundreds of years that something like this happened.
He trusted the wonder of the Conscience Stone such that nobody could resist its power. Even if the sect leader were to face the Conscience Stone, he could not resist it at all. Therefore, Master’s Junior Hua who wielded the Conscience Stone had sworn to never leave the cliff.
Master’s Junior Hua stayed on the cliff in his thatched cottage to maintain a pure and peaceful heart. He was so thorough and sharp that nothing could escape his eyes. He had sensed the strangeness on Chu Li, and he was certain about his intuition even though he could not figure it out.
“You may leave.” Ning Caiyi waved his hand. “I’d like to speak to Master’s Junior Hua.”
“Yes.” The disciples left the thatched cottage before they fluttered down the cliff.
Chu Li was concerned.
He could tell that Master’s Junior Hua had sensed something unusual about him.
The Conscience Stone was so mysterious that a peculiar force had forced Chu Li into an unconscious state. However, at that crucial moment, both the Maha-Vairocana’s Immobility Scripture and Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture were channeled, thus removing the strange force.
Chu Li imitated the others around him by pretending that he was dreaming. When Master’s Junior Hua interrogated him, Chu Li tried his best to answer Master’s Junior Hua the way others did. While it seemed like there was nothing uncommon about Chu Li’s behavior, he might not have fooled Master’s Junior Hua.
Chu Li noticed that Master’s Junior Hua was an expert in the cultivation of mental force, and had a very sharp sense. This was Chu Li’s first encounter with a difficult figure like Master’s Junior Hua. Without the Maha-Vairocana’s Immobility Scripture and Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture, Chu Li could not have passed the test.
Nevertheless, an imitation was still an imitation. Chu Li could deceive others, but he might not have been able to deceive Master’s Junior Hua.
“Junior Brother Lu, congratulations!” Zhao Tianxing tapped on Chu Li’s shoulder and smiled brightly. “You’re the first person in a hundred years who has succeeded in advancing from the outer cliff to the inner cliff. Although the rest of us will be punished, we’re very happy for you.”
Chu Li looked at him. “Senior Brothers, I’m really sorry, but am I already in the inner cliff? I wonder what’s the result from Conscience Hall.”
“Don’t worry. If something’s wrong, you would’ve been suppressed earlier,” Zhao Tianxing said with a smile. “Besides, you’re Master’s Junior Lu’s son, you’re family.”
“Him…?” As Chu Li’s face darkened, he walked away.
Zhao Tianxing thought to himself, ‘His face changed so quickly, he must’ve been so pampered thinking that’s he’s favored by God. What a terrible temper!’
Afterward, Lu Zhengjun approached Chu Li with a big smile.
Chu Li said, “I want to go back.”
“Where?”
“The outer cliff.”
“You’re an inner cliff disciple now, why do you want to go back to the outer cliff?” Lu Zhengjun was puzzled.
Chu Li replied, “I just want to take a look.”
“Mm, go then.” Lu Zhengjun waved his hand. “Do you remember the way?”
Chu Li nodded.
While there was a formation that hindered one to go from the outer cliff to the inner cliff, one could simply go from the inner cliff to the outer cliff.
After watching Chu Li leave, Lu Zhengjun turned around and saw Ning Caiyi.
When Ning Caiyi looked at him, he shook his head. “He can’t.”
Lu Zhengjun’s face changed at once. “Master’s Junior Ning, what do you mean?”
“Xiao Lu didn’t pass the test at Conscious Hall, he can’t enter the inner cliff,” Ning Caiyi explained.
“What? He didn’t pass the test at Conscious Hall?” Lu Zhengjun was in disbelief. “How is that possible!”
“What can be impossible?” Ning Caiyi asked, “Let me ask you, how often do you see him?”
“Once a year,” Lu Zhengjun answered.
Ning Caiyi asked again, “Did you notice anything unusual about him?”
“Unusual?” Lu Zhengjun frowned. “He only stayed in Tide-listening Pavilion to cultivate in isolation, which led him to his current cultivation level. Among my children, he’s the most hardworking one.”
“But something about him is off.” Ning Caiyi shook his head. “Master’s Junior Hua said that something about him is strange, so he’s not fit to enter the inner cliff. He should just remain as an outer cliff disciple!”
Lu Zhengjun quickly asked, “What exactly is wrong?”
Ning Caiyi replied, “Master’s Junior Hua can’t describe it too. He said that it’s just an intuition. You must know that Master’s Junior Hua’s intuition is very accurate.”
“No, I won’t be resigned to the outcome unless I get a proper explanation.” Lu Zhengjun was dissatisfied. “He has suffered a lot of hardships in order to get into the inner cliff. Now that he has finally succeeded, you’re telling me that he’s rejected? That’s too unreasonable!”
Ning Caiyi responded, “Do you think you can change Master’s Junior Hua’s mind?”
“But he can’t do that just because he’s an honorable master. He must make things clear.” Lu Zhengjun added, “This can’t be, I’ll go look for Master’s Junior Hua.”
“Go on if you’re so unwilling to accept the outcome.” Ning Caiyi expressed, “You can’t change Master’s Junior Hua’s mind!”
“I’ll try!” Lu Zhengjun scoffed.
After he gave Ning Caiyi a fist salute, he arrived at the top of the cliff. At the thatched cottage, Lu Zhengjun knocked on the door before he entered.
Master’s Junior Hua was sitting on the wooden floor at the moment as if he was asleep. It was extremely mentally draining to activate the Conscience Stone. Besides, he had experienced twelve dreams before this, which was even more exhausting.
Lu Zhengjun sat opposite to Master’s Junior Hua, then greeted him, “Master’s Junior Hua, I’d like to know what’s unusual about my son?”
“How about this, ask him to come again tomorrow,” Master’s Junior Hua responded.
“Yes.” Lu Zhengjun did not press further upon hearing that.
