Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 506 - 347: The City Lords Yearning for NTR
Chapter 506: Chapter 347: The City Lords Yearning for NTR
That day, Gong Qiying said a lot, and so did the City Lords.
Some ideas seemed astonishing at first, but when it came to real implementation, issues were discovered. The City Lords spent almost an entire day discussing the feasibility of various plans.
Gong Qiying witnessed firsthand what it means to experience the myriad facets of life.
Some City Lords felt that the difficulty of the proposed plans was a bit too high for adventurers and wanted to lower it.
Others loudly protested that it wasn’t enough, finding the difficulty far too lenient for adventurers.
Unsurprisingly, these two factions ended up arguing, which culminated in a challenge of dungeon battles to temporarily resolve the dispute. Who knew their martial spirit was so robust!
The conduct of the City Lords was closely tied to their regions; the one advocating for increased difficulty hailed from the Warrior Country with a simple and honest folk, while the one asking for decreased difficulty belonged to a peaceful and prosperous region.
Of course, amicable discussions still made up the majority.
"I don’t think Meteor Fairies have a variant with different coloring, should we paint them? But with high-speed movement, the paint might easily come off. Maybe we could switch to another monster."
"What’s the meaning of that achievement title? Oh, it’s a reward for adventurers with special contributions... But why does it show glowing characters above their heads? Never mind, it’s kind of interesting. I happen to have permission to do this very thing; I thought I’d never use this permission in my lifetime. Please, let me be in charge of awarding titles."
"How should adventurers be ranked? By the number of Meteor Fairies captured? And considering cross-ranking across more than forty dungeons? If that’s the case, my permission could just come in handy."
As the number of Dungeon Lords grew, a variety of permissions emerged. Some that were originally thought useless found a purpose, providing technical support for the ’whimsical ideas’ proposed by Gong Qiying.
There were talents among the City Lords, and they spoke pleasantly. Gong Qiying truly adored being here.
Besides normal discussions, there were some frivolous ones too.
"Should we add catalyst Slime Meteors? I can provide catalyst Slimes!"
"Hey, then my hand monster pitfall trap must be included. Slimes and hand monsters are a perfect match."
"Hey, hey, watch your manners. How can you old folks be so indecent? Count my goblin tribe in as well."
"Are you really discussing event plans?!" Rainbow Horn loudly teased.
"Alright then, count me in with a Dream-inducing Tapir."
"Gedwin, even you aren’t serious!"
Contrary to expectations of a solemn meeting with a group of millennium-old foxes, the atmosphere was filled with boundless imagination and friendly camaraderie, like attending a con. Eventually, several universal events were finalized.
One, the otherworld’s Quidditch remains unchanged, but the capture target shifts from [Meteor Fairy] to [Little Meteor] brought by the Sain Dungeon. This isn’t just to replace the fast Meteor Fairies with the slower Little Meteors for a wider range of adventurers but also because Little Meteors have inherent different colors. These colors can only be discerned by breaking the outer shell, adding randomness and fun to adventurers’ captures.
Two, an increase in encounters: adventurers capturing more Little Meteors have an elevated chance of encountering elite monsters when returning to exchange rewards. Each dungeon decides the monster types autonomously.
Three, adventurer ranking; four, achievement titles; five, a world-class boss; six, the Red Teeth Dungeon awards Dungeon Lords according to adventurer rankings from different dungeons; seven...
When Red Teeth proposed the seventh point, Gong Qiying couldn’t help asking, "Won’t this disrupt the world view of the dungeon?"
The seventh point allows each dungeon participating in the event to freely provide corresponding rewards, and adventurers can trade rewards from any dungeon for rewards from other dungeons as they wish.
Cross-dungeon exchange of resources!
Moreover, it was proposed by Red Teeth, a native City Lord of this world!
Gong Qiying thought of this but didn’t voice it, fearing it might alter outsiders’ views of the dungeons’ worldview, unsure if it was good or bad.
But Red Teeth seemed quite open-minded about it and said:
"Since we’ve managed to gather to do something significant, and God even sent down a genius like you, we must aim for the biggest impact! We are Dungeon Lords; Demon Kings and Heroes will fade with time, but dungeons are eternal, the entire world relies on them for their livelihood!"
"If we can’t have confidence in our actions, who else in the world can have confidence?"
"As for how outsiders view or interpret our anomaly and what reactions occur post-anomaly, that all doesn’t matter..."
Red Teeth blinked, revealing a hint of pride and slyness in his eyes, and said:
"If they dare, they can just cease coming to the dungeons."
The Red Dragon’s wings suddenly unfurled, sending a powerful gust mixed with scorching heat billowing through the air, showcasing the confidence and pride of this veteran City Lord!
Dungeons have long been deeply embedded in the daily lives of people in this world, entering a dungeon was as normal as eating and drinking.
The influence of the more than forty City Lords present spanned the entire continent, and suddenly avoiding these dungeons due to a short anomaly? How is that possible? Over half of the world’s population relies on dungeons for sustenance, and for dungeons with substantial activities, the adventurers’ commitment is beyond imagination.
Moreover, within humanity, scholars are automatically refreshed to provide reasonable explanations for all changes in dungeons.
Gong Qiying also smiled with relief, suddenly feeling that his previous careful maintenance of dungeon worldviews was a bit too conservative.
Looking back, all the present City Lords were eagerly preparing, seemingly bursting with vitality and resurgence, as if these old hands had found a new lease on life.
Everyone realized the true implication of the seventh rule—using their dungeon’s unique rewards to lure adventurer traffic from other dungeons here!
This isn’t a boon for adventurers, but a boon for dungeons, or rather, a boon for capable dungeons.
This will be an unprecedented campaign!
The City Lords will transform into the most wicked Minotaurs and steal the foot traffic from other dungeons!
Gong Qiying hadn’t felt this fired up in a long time. He glanced at his dry palm, which had unconsciously clenched tight.
"I *swear* I’m going to dazzle the adventurers with some fantastic items."
Cursing isn’t lack of class, it’s about being spirited!
Scratching his head, Gong Qiying felt as if yellow hair suddenly sprouted on his bald animated corpse’s head, and everyone he saw seemed green with envy.
Red Teeth was very satisfied with everyone’s reaction, thinking that this was the kind of spirit a new-age Dungeon Lord should have. He immediately shouted, saying:
"Alright, everyone, hurry back to prepare! Once you’re ready, send me a message."
"Before the meteor shower streaks across the night sky tomorrow night, we must make our meteors shine brightly!"
After exchanging contact info with several City Lords who stayed to consult him on dungeon design, Gong Qiying returned to Sain to begin the frenzied preparation.
From one to seven, all events are supported by the authority of corresponding City Lords, so he didn’t need to worry about more.
He was responsible for event five, the world boss arrangement, where the City Lords would display their powerful monsters for voting to decide whose monster could act as the world boss.
Since the Red Teeth Dungeon would provide the spiritual power to summon monsters, Gong Qiying picked some of his terrifyingly high spiritual power monsters, each somewhat connected to meteors.
[Swift Dragon]
[Esti]
[Sky Comet Dragon]...
Swift Dragon: ??? Do I really fit in here?
It’s worth noting that the monsters mentioned above are not in their strongest forms, just ordinary types or even with some defects.
Sain Dungeon can summon monsters based on the period, like how Gong Qiying can summon the Abyss-corrupted and crippled "Abyss Wanderer" Artorias, but can’t summon the "Wolf Knight" Artorias in his prime.
The Esti that appears here is the most common Esti, not the "Dark Abandoned Child" Esti who destroyed the Eternal City in the Elden Ring storyline, let alone the stronger "Dark Stars" Esti.
The Sky Comet Dragon isn’t the peculiar type or the mysterious red light whose combat power is uncertain compared to its main form. The one Gong Qiying can summon even has some flaws, like being smaller and more prone to explosion.
Interestingly, Red Teeth’s eyes went wide upon seeing the Sky Comet Dragon, immediately pushing away the female dragon beside him.
After a series of votes, the role of the world boss ultimately went to... Esti!
This was somewhat unexpected; Gong Qiying thought everyone would prefer the dashing silver-winged fierce meteor Sky Comet Dragon.
In the end, it seemed the City Lords favored the eerie style of Esti over the flashy.
Although curious, none of the City Lords asked Gong Qiying how these monsters came about, only gazing at him with more respect.
"Alright, today’s focus is on Esti and miscellaneous designs."
Time passed, and after a night of hard work, Gong Qiying and the other City Lords’ results were finally presented.
Thus, as dusk approached today and the meteor shower had yet to arrive on this land, all participating dungeons experienced the prelude to a transformation.
In Red Teeth Dungeon, adventurers yearning to slay dragons and bathe in dragon blood looked up to the sky, exclaiming in shock:
"Meteor!"
The same scene was playing out in numerous dungeons, where the dungeon’s meteor shower outshone the meteors outside, leaving adventurers witnessing the spectacle speechless.
In Unihorn Dungeon, a sweet couple watched a little meteor fall beside them and squealed at the sight of the cute creature.
In Sticky Dungeon, an adventurer had their head enveloped by a falling seductive Slime meteor, immediately charging towards their teammate with eyes ablaze in red light.
In Giant Stone Dungeon, a middle-aged man with a seven-to-eight-tenths resemblance to Leon was struck by a high-speed meteor and gloriously returned to the Resurrection House.
"Oh no! How did I set the meteor shower to be real meteors!" The Giant Stone City Lord was frantic, scratching his head.
In Sain Dungeon.
Fingerley, sworn to the Dark Moon Sword, transformed into an invader and arrived at Yilushier, just in time to see a Fallen Star Beast launch a cute star that wiped out the grunts of the Light Eagle Group with a crash, grabbing Eliphas playfully and running off, as the captains chased after, shouting and hollering.
No one noticed him.
"Am I here at the wrong time?"
Fingerley stood there, bewildered, as a Little Meteor passed by him, curiously staring at him.
"Cute little guy, what’s brought you to such a dangerous place?" He patted the Little Meteor, which felt no different from touching a rock, and then he picked it up, gently tossed it far to safety.
"Don’t come running back here, okay? It’s very dangerous."
After saying that, he drew his sword and joined the chase for the Light Eagle Group.
Fingerley never guessed that the little meteor he just threw would become a prized possession for adventurers to crazily pursue in the coming days.
