Who Said A Necromancer Can't Be A Priest?-Chapter 105: Dodgeball (2)
Team had already been formed by the time Aaran was picked. Either by coincidence or planning, Alicia and the Marki brothers were on the same side, while Aaran was on the other team.
The professor had already explained the rules, so the game started without any delays. But before that, two appointed captains were called to the center for the toss.
"Heads."
"Tails!"
The professor smirked as Aaran's team lost. It meant Alicia's team would get the ball first.
"Deor, launch the ball," Alicia said, tossing the ball to him.
Deor looked at Theo, who nodded. Theo was the appointed leader, but it seemed everyone wanted to follow Alicia, so he didn't bother arguing with her. Besides, as long as she took Aaran out of the match, nothing else mattered.
Deor launched the ball over his head as asked. Alicia ran at it before jumping in the air and kicking the ball with all her strength. Everyone was surprised by her ferocity. No one expected the saintess to have such monstrous strength.
The ball flew straight towards Aaran. Theo smirked, thinking it was over, until it wasn't.
"Chapter One: Hymn of Strength!" Aaran mumbled, and hit the ball back.
The ball came to a halt when it touched Aaran's fist, before flying straight back at the opposite team. Alicia was too stunned to react, but then someone jumped before her.
The ball hit the guy in the face and he was sent flying away to the other side of the gymnasium.
Absolute silence followed the impact.
The Markis, Alicia, and even the professor were stunned. Only Aaran was surprised, not at his strength, but at their reaction.
They should know about the trial by now. Why are they acting so surprised?
He defeated Leon with no one's help. That alone should have proved his strength. Yet there they were, acting like they didn't know about his abilities.
"Professor, you should check on the guy."
Aaran reminded him. The professor shook his head and rushed to the boy's side. It was a gruesome sight. The boy's cheek bones had sunk into his face, ten teeth were missing and his nose was bleeding like a broken faucet.
"Aaran, you've been disqualified!" the professor yelled at the top of his lungs.
"What for?"
"Excessive force—"
"Did you mention it while explaining the rules?" Aaran asked.
The professor was speechless. Indeed, he mentioned nothing about using excessive force, and Aaran didn't break any rules that were already mentioned.
"Take him to the clinic," the Professor instructed his assistants before picking up the ball. "Excessive force is allowed, but only on the ball. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Professor!"
Just like that, the game resumed again. This time, it was Aaran's turn to throw the ball, but he handed it to the guy next to him.
"Go for it," he said.
People thought Aaran was feeling guilty after causing such injury and didn't want to continue. Unfortunately, they thought too highly of his character.
Aaran didn't throw the ball because he had negligible strength. Outside of his ability, all his stats were stuck to zero. Why would he even try to throw the ball in that case?
The Markis might not pick it, but Alicia will. I don't want to risk anything.
Now that Aaran had many enemies, even the smallest actions would be noticed by them. It was better to only show off his strength, not any weaknesses.
Meanwhile, the boy threw the ball with all his strength. It seemed he put too much strength in it because the ball went straight towards the roof. The people on the opposite side scoffed and laughed, but all it vanished when the ball suddenly flew towards one guy at the back.
Telekenisis…
The boy tried to run, but the ball kept following him, until it hit him. Just like that, another person was eliminated from the other side.
"Deor, throw the ball again," Alicia said.
Once again, she jumped and kicked the ball. But this time, it was surrounded by divinity. Aaran didn't even bother paying attention to the ball and yawned, casually murmuring something.
The next moment, a barrier appeared around him. The ball harmlessly bounced off the barrier, hitting yet another guy next to Alicia.
Alicia's frown deepened. No, it was better to say she was frustrated. Aaran kept using divinity based spell to counter her and there was nothing she could do about it.
The farce continued and eventually, Alicia and the Marki stopped targeting Aaran only. The round was nearing its end, so there was no point in eliminating him anymore. Besides, Aaran had sufficient points to qualify for the next round, unlike them.
But Aaran would target Alicia every time he could. However, none of his attacks succeeded. As a saintess, she had many admirers who loved to protect her, hoping to gain her favor.
Unfortunately, Alicia had her eyes on Aaran, not in the loving way, but the boys didn't care. Perhaps it was her strategy, because the more she looked at Aaran, the more people began targeting him.
It was as if those people didn't want someone like Aaran to defile their idol. Theo and Deor fanned those flames. That way, they kept getting points from targeting others, while everyone targeted Aaran.
It was a genius move. Until it wasn't. Slowly everyone got aware of their non-existent points and that's when true chaos broke out. Everyone wanted points for themselves and began hitting the weaklings.
Deor tried his best to protect Theo, but in the end, he couldn't anymore, and one of the brothers was eliminated from the first round.

Deor was distracted and was eliminated by Alicia, and in the end, only she and Aaran remained standing. However, it was well over the time limit.
Alicia looked at the professor as if telling him not to end the round. However, the Professor had already broken too many rules. He was afraid if he showed any more hostility towards Aaran, it would come to bite his butt later.
He blew the whistle, calling the end for the first round.
