Who Said A Necromancer Can't Be A Priest?-Chapter 93: Rise!
That was it.
The moment Aaran had been waiting for.
The goddess was descending on earth. All problems would be solved now.
Not having met a god in a mortal realm, Aaran was excited to see the Goddess of Salvation. From the size of her foot, he expected her to be a true titan.
Not the little girl standing before him. And from the looks of it, no one expected that.
A girl wearing white drapes and glowing blonde hair stood before them. Her big blue eyes scanned the surroundings before locking on Aaran. With a smug face, she offered him her hand, expecting to be revered.
Instead, she got a look of absolute disappointment from him.
"…goddess?"
"Yes, my dear priest," the loli goddess puffed up her chest, basking in non-existent glory.
"…can you use your powers?"
"Not in my current form," she confidently replied. "Descending took away my powers. However, I trust you to feed me divinity so I can return to my prime."
Aaran couldn't take it anymore and smacked his head. His plan revolved around the goddess's strength. With that gone, there wasn't much he could do with her.
"Father, take her away, please."
Till then, Lucien was rooted to the spot. He never thought he would see a goddess in the flesh, let alone his son, would be the one summoning her. Still, when Aaran asked him to take her away, Lucien jumped at the opportunity.
"Goddess, if you will—"
"Who are you?"
"I'm Saint Lucien, the bearer of light—"
"Are you deaf?" Aaran scolded the goddess. "I addressed him as my father, did I not? Just go with him. We're in the middle of a war zone. You'll end up hurting if you don't leave."
"Oh!" the Goddess exclaimed. "You're worried about me. Hmph, it's good. At least you're faithful. Fine, I'll grant your wish and move away. But do not forget to spread my name far and wide, my dear priest."
After saying her piece, the Goddess walked inside the castle along with Lucien.
"What now, boy?" Dread asked, scratching his head.
Aaran sighed. He had a plan, but after what happened to his brilliant plan, he wasn't sure if anything would work.
"How long can you hold them off?" Aaran asked.
"indefinitely," Darius proudly replied. "Holding these cockroaches back isn't difficult. Defeating them is."
For once, Dread agreed with Darius. Between them, Darius could keep erecting barriers and Dread could keep tossing stones and boulders at the enemy to keep them at bay.
Their confidence brought some peace to Aaran. They had a chance. The soldiers would arrive by the morning. They had to wrap it up by then. Only then Aaran could continue his plan to take over the Empire.
"Do your best," Aaran instructed, jumping on Cerbie's back. "I'll be back soon."
"Where is he going?" Dread asked.
"To recover Aurelia's strength."
Darius smiled, knowing where Aaran was headed.

Aaran stood in the graveyard of kings, surrounded by countless tombstones. The resting place of Aurelia's greatest warriors. Most of them had died protecting Aurelia, and it was time for them to help their kingdom again.
Just like the time Aaran had tamed Darius's spirit, he manifested his five-star core, attracting the spirits. Yet, this time, no one approached him.
They sensed the vast amount of divinity in him and were afraid. They saw a trap set to eliminate them. Ignoring their apprehension, Aaran decided to force them into submission. There was no time to persuade them.
"Rise," he commanded.
The ground trembled slightly, but that was it. No spirits answered his call, nor any undead rose from their graves.
"Rise!"
Nothing.
Aaran gritted his teeth in frustration.
He was running out of time, and these fossils were throwing a tantrum. But, it should have been expected. Not every spirit or dead person has a heart filled with resentment, like Darius.
Most of them had made peace with their death, hence they wanted nothing to do with the living. However, they all had one thing in common.
Every one of them gave their lives for Aurelia.
Aaran let out a deep sigh before pulling out something from his vault.
The Necromancer's stone.
It would compensate for the lack of darkness, while his words would do the rest.
"Heed my call, great soldiers, kings, and queens of Aurelia. You, who once fought for this land with valor! You, who once gave your lives for this land… it demands your protection once again!"
"Proud warriors? Great rulers? All I see are cowards. Cowards who let the kingdom that bore their name be trampled under enemy boots."
"Show your loyalty to Aurelia! Show your fury, show your valor… and RISE!"
Darkness surged out of the stone, shrouding everything in it. The ground shook, cracks formed everywhere. The spirits rushed aside… and then.
Nothing happened.
Aaran looked around before turning back to the stone.
"…what happened?"
Aaran wondered. Suddenly Cerbie howled, feeling something Aaran couldn't.
His call was answered.

Meanwhile, the army struggled to break through the icy barriers. Yet, they kept pushing. Victory awaited them behind the wall.
However, the next moment, they were shrouded in darkness.
Their torches were extinguished. The mage's mana was drained in one go. The warriors could barely hold their weapons, and the priest? They were struggling to breathe.
"W-What's happening?"
"First divinity, and now darkness?"
"Fall b-back!"
A commander noticed the forces were losing morale, and intervened.
"Don't falter! This is a filthy trick from the enemy. They are devil worshippers! Keep pushing. We must end them tonight! Charge—!"

The next moment, the commander's world turned upside down. No… the world remained still. His head was upside down.
The enemies gasped as the icy wall crumbled, revealing a sight that shook them to the core.
Several figures appeared from the darkness.
There were hundreds of them.
Kings and queens who had ruled Aurelia for centuries.
Generals who had led its armies to countless victories.
Knights who had defended its walls until their last breath.
Every glorious hero of Aurelia had returned, and they were enraged, hungry for revenge.
