Within My Sect, All Realms Unite-Chapter 20: Taking a Disciple
Just as Lin Xiao Tian was deep in thought, a cold mechanical voice suddenly echoed within his mind.
Ding! Mission Activated.
First Mission: Accept the Half-Beast girl before you as a disciple.
Mission Reward: Heaven-Tier Item — Fragment of the Half-Beast Sect Legacy.
Lin Xiao Tian’s eyes narrowed slightly. A fragment... of the legendary Half-Beast Sect’s legacy?
His gaze toward the girl slowly softened.
He stepped closer, raising a hand carefully as if approaching a wounded animal. When his fingers finally brushed her shoulder, the girl shuddered violently, trying to pull away, struggling against the invisible fear that bound her far tighter than the chains ever had.
Tears trembled at the edge of her eyes He gently but firmly lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him.
His voice was calm, carrying an unquestionable authority yet beneath it was an unexpected softness. "Stop crying."
The girl froze. The tears that were about to spill suddenly halted, as if even they were afraid to fall.
With a faint surge of spiritual power, the chains binding her shattered like brittle glass. Dust and rust scattered across the ground. A moment later, another gentle wave of energy washed over her, cleaning away the grime and dried blood that covered her frail body. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
He looked at her silently as his heart ached.
By any standard whether on Earth or in the cultivation world she was nothing more than a ten-year-old child. Yet this child had spent her entire life being chased, beaten, and sold like an animal. She had watched the few companions she had die at the hands of cultivators.
All of it... just because somewhere in her ancestry flowed a trace of half-beast blood.
Then he slowly picked her Up and took her to a seat. looking at this everyone was even more shocked no on treats half beasts in a good way they were all hunted or enslaved
Then he gently picked her up and carried her to a nearby seat.
The moment everyone saw this, the entire hall fell into stunned silence.
No one treated half-beasts kindly. In this world, they were nothing more than prey—hunted down like animals or captured and sold as slaves.
Yet the Sect Master had personally lifted one and treated her with care.
Looking at Lin Xiaotian, the crowd could not help but reach the same conclusion.
The Sect Master must be grooming her for the future.
Several people shuddered at the thought. Their gazes toward him became strange, filled with subtle understanding.
Feeling those looks, Lin Xiaotian felt as if his conscience was being stabbed from all directions.
Just as Han Leu was about to speak, Lin Xiaotian suddenly spoke first.
"I want to take you as a disciple of my sect," he said calmly. "Your status will be equal to that of my other disciples."
The little girl, still overwhelmed by the unfamiliar kindness she had received, could only stare at him in shock.
But the others were even more stunned.
Taking a half-beast girl and grooming her as a future concubine was nothing unusual. Many depraved young masters from powerful families did such things.
But taking a half-beast as a disciple and allowing her to walk the path of immortality...
That was nothing less than blasphemy against the heavens.
Just as Han Leu stood up to speak, "Master Xiao, you might not know the conse—"
Lin interrupted him before he could finish. His gaze shifted toward the girl as he asked calmly once more, "Would you like to become a disciple of my sect?"
The trembling girl looked directly into Lin Xiaotian’s eyes, her gaze hazy with fear.
"M-Miao Miao doesn’t know what you mean by a disciple, Lord," she said softly. "Just... please don’t kill Miao-Miao and my brother. We will serve you well."
She lowered her head nervously before continuing, "Miao-Miao can wash dishes and keep your place clean. My brother is also very strong. After he heals, he can help you with anything, Lord."
As she finished speaking, tears began to fall from her eyes once again.
Seeing her pitiful state, even the cultivators who despised half-beasts could not help but feel a trace of sympathy for her suffering.
Lin Xiaotian quickly realized that speaking directly to the girl would not get him far.
Turning slightly, he looked at the steward and asked calmly, "Who is the brother she is talking about?"
The steward hurried forward and bowed deeply. "Master, there is indeed another half-beast slave. However,... he is already dying."
He hesitated before continuing.
"During their transport, the girl was going to be sold midway. But that beast attacked the buyer and was badly injured by the buyer’s guards. The buyer then ordered us to let him slowly die and suffer and even paid ten thousand low-grade spirit stones for it. That is why we kept him instead of throwing him away."
The steward forced a weak smile. "Saving that beast is simply not worth it, Master—"
Before he could finish, he suddenly felt a cold, predatory gaze lock onto him. His heart trembled as he instantly realized he had angered Lin Xiaotian.
The steward hurriedly dropped to his knees. "B-But if Master wants him, I will bring him immediately!" As he spoke, he quickly turned and ordered someone to fetch the injured half-beast.
Lin Xiaotian sat calmly in his seat as he waited.
Han Le looked at him and spoke with a serious expression. "Sect Master Lin, it might not be the best decision to take them as your disciples."
He paused before continuing, his voice lowering slightly. "Even though no word will get out for now, we do not know what may happen in the future. If this matter is discovered... you might be pursued by many cultivator forces and sects."
Lin Xiaotian nodded slightly at Han Leu. "I understand your good intentions, Daoist Leu," he said calmly.
He leaned back in his seat, his expression unmoved. "But I never go back on my words or my beliefs."
His voice turned colder. "And if someone wishes to meet their doom by targeting a disciple of my sect... then let them come."
Just as he finished speaking, the clanking of chains echoed through the hall once again. The door creaked open, and a figure dressed in black was roughly pushed inside.
The state of the figure was horrifying. Blood and pus oozed from wounds scattered across its body, and its clothes were soaked dark red. The most terrifying injury was a gruesome wound in its abdomen, as if something had torn straight through it.
Lin Xiaotian was slightly shocked that it was still alive. As he slowly approached, the figure’s downcast head lifted.
Its gaze met Lin Xiaotian’s and within those eyes... there was something terrifying—ancient, cold, and filled with a silent fury.
