Witty Wife, Better Life-Chapter 851 - 841 Jealous
Chapter 851: Chapter 841 Jealous
"Mr. Han, you’ve really worked hard today, having never done farm work before. I see that your palms have even developed blisters. I’ll have the doctor come over and look at them in a bit," said Shen Yunfang as the cameraman took the heavy equipment off his shoulder and approached Han Gexing to offer some kind words.
Although Shen Yunfang had insured everyone on set against accidents before the shoot, Mr. Han was different from her own family members. After all, he was a guest, and a star, precious and delicate. If he were to be injured just like that, it would be troublesome. She decided to express some concern.
Han Yinhao looked at his hands; due to the morning and afternoon labor, several blisters of various sizes had already formed. With his other hand, he touched the largest blister and hissed in pain, "Without you mentioning it, I didn’t even realize how painful these blisters were. Thank you so much for your arrangements. If my hands are still like this tomorrow, I can’t imagine the agony I’ll have to endure just to hold up chopsticks when facing delicious food." Considering that scenario, Han Yinhao quickly shook his head.
Shen Yunfang couldn’t help but laugh at his remark. He really didn’t act like most stars do; during dinner, he used those scarred hands to pick up food with chopsticks, and she didn’t see any sign of pain on his face.
"Yunfang, are you ready?" Li Hongjun’s voice suddenly came from the doorway.
He had known that his wife was shooting a show with their child and a star from Stick Country after finishing work today. So, after eating in the cafeteria, he came directly to the farm to pick up his wife and child and also to check out the filming.
When he arrived, he saw the two adults and two children eating at the table. Since they were filming, he couldn’t speak and just watched quietly; however, the more he watched, the more uncomfortable he felt. It seemed as though they were a family of four.
Later, as a few of them were watching the stars and the moon on the terrace, he felt even worse. That place was supposed to be his. How had someone else taken his spot?
He waited, face darkening, for the filming to end and before he could assert his role, his wife had run off to speak to that Stick Country man and was laughing non-stop. He couldn’t take it anymore, so he walked in.
"Why are you here? Did you come to see us shoot? How is it, all good?" Shen Yunfang turned around, smiling happily as she saw her husband. "Come, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Han Yinhao, invited by our company to participate in the filming." She turned her head and introduced her husband to Han Yinhao.
She hadn’t expected today’s shooting to go so smoothly. If it continued like this, they could finish shooting tomorrow’s show.
The two men shook hands amiably; as Li Hongjun’s English wasn’t very fluent, he didn’t like to speak much, so naturally, the two couldn’t communicate much.
"I see the shooting’s done, and the kids are tired too. Can we leave now?" Li Hongjun asked his wife gently.
In front of another man, he naturally wanted to show his best side.
Shen Yunfang turned to look at her children, who had gone crazy running around all day and even harvested wheat with them. It was impressive that the little ones had lasted until the end of the filming. They were already asleep on the terrace.
"Yes, let’s hurry home," Shen Yunfang turned back to Han Yinhao, "I’m sorry, Mr. Han, my children are tired, and now I need to take them home to rest properly. You’ve also had a long day, have a good rest tonight, and I hope you have a warm night here."
Seeing Han Yinhao nod, Shen Yunfang then gave a few instructions to the staff members next to her before she and Li Hongjun each carried a child home.
Along the way, neither of the children woke up, seemingly exhausted. Shen Yunfang felt a pang of distress and began to waver about the decision to involve the children in the filming.
Li Hongjun had noticed this, of course. He pulled his wife back to the bedroom and started to massage her as soon as they laid down on the bed.
"Don’t overthink it. The kids getting to participate in this activity is a form of exercise. Although we come from the countryside, up to now, our kids basically can’t tell one crop from another. This is a good opportunity for them to learn something they can’t at school and to experience the hardships of being farmers."
"Yes, I felt the same during the day, but now seeing the kids so tired makes me feel sorry for them. You’d say we’re well-off now, right? We have houses, cars, and money. Sometimes I wonder if there’s any meaning in this hustle. Wouldn’t it be better to just live a simple life?" Shen Yunfang moaned comfortably. It had been years since she last did any farm work, and doing it all day had made her muscles sore.
"Don’t think too much about it; I’ve always said I’ll provide for the family. You can live life how you wish," Li Hongjun always supported his wife no matter what. As long as she was happy, he had no objections.
The bedroom fell silent because Shen Yunfang had fallen asleep.
The next morning, Shen Yunfang woke up early. Because she had gone to bed late the previous night and they had to go to the farm early to continue filming, she didn’t have time to make breakfast and simply took some food out from their storage. The family of four had a quick meal.
"Today we’ll probably be filming all day. If you’re busy, you don’t need to come over. I’ll drive the kids back in the evening," said Shen Yunfang while getting dressed. "Manman, hurry up with your clothes. We need to deliver breakfast to Uncle Han."
How could Li Hongjun be at ease? He wished he could take the day off to stay with them the whole time.
"It’s okay, I have nothing to do at home after work. I’ll pick you guys up in the evening."
Seeing that he insisted, Shen Yunfang didn’t say anything more. It’s probably every married woman’s hope to have her husband pick her up after a tiring day. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
That morning, Li Hongjun drove his wife’s car to drop the three of them at the farm and then drove back home. He would need to pick up his wife in the evening.
At the farm, when Shen Yunfang arrived, it was almost time to start shooting. She arranged the breakfast she brought on a table with plates and bowls, before the kids even had a chance to call anyone. Han Yinhao, enticed by the smell of food, got out of bed.
Then the day’s filming officially began.
Since the theme of the episode was wheat, their task that morning was to harvest enough wheat from the wheat fields to exchange for their noon and evening meals.
The enthusiasm from the day before had faded and after arriving at the wheat field, everyone began to cut the wheat earnestly. The two children helped by carrying the cut wheat, load by load, to the cart.
