Chapter 100: Chapter 94: Life Perception

Murphy gently laid Aurora on the soft bed, gazing at her flushed cheeks and the fine beads of sweat on her forehead.

He carefully tucked her in, an indescribable sense of satisfaction welling up inside him.

Suddenly, Aurora slowly opened her eyes. When her gaze focused on Murphy’s face, her azure eyes instantly softened, rippling with tenderness.

"Do you want to continue?" Murphy asked in a low voice.

Aurora quickly closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly. "No, I’m tired. I want to sleep."

Murphy smiled.

He understood then that Aurora must have noticed something. Purely from a physical standpoint, with her constitution as a Knight’s Attendant, it was impossible for her to feel this tired.

But they both knew without saying a word. It was a silent understanding unique to them.

With her eyes still closed, Aurora whispered, "Kiss me."

Murphy leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on her smooth forehead.

Aurora’s expression immediately turned to one of contented bliss as she murmured, "I love you."

With those words, her breathing gradually steadied and deepened, and she finally fell fast asleep.

Murphy smiled again.

He then sat to one side, took out a dose of Knight’s Secret Medicine, placed it under his tongue, and began a new round of Cultivation.

As the Secret Medicine dissolved in his mouth, his blood began to warm. A faint Black Light emanated from his body—the Black Light Energy working with the medicine to strengthen the Qi within him.

Compared to eight years ago, Murphy’s single-arm strength had reached an astonishing seven hundred kilograms, and the Qi in his Dantian was more than double what it had been.

It could be as soon as tomorrow or as far off as ten years, but a border war was bound to break out eventually.

And it was a war between faiths that not even the King could mediate.

Facing the coming turmoil, Murphy knew full well he couldn’t increase his domain’s military strength in a short period.

So he chose a more direct Path: to constantly improve his own martial power.

Indeed, Murphy had long been prepared for the worst.

If war broke out and the enemy reached his gates, he wouldn’t choose a futile resistance. Instead, at the first sign of danger, he would take Aurora and her child and flee his domain.

To Murphy, survival was what mattered most, and he had to ensure they could all live on in safety. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

...

Leon’s figure flickered in and out of sight amidst the swirling snowflakes. The Shadow Ring on his finger emitted a faint glow, its light weaving through the pale luminescence of the snow.

Like a true wisp of shadow, he silently closed in on the ice-encrusted stone walls of the Baron’s Castle.

His fingertips brushed against the rough, cold stone. He whispered a Spell, and an invisible ripple spread out from him in all directions.

This was his Knowledge Magic, [Life Perception], which allowed him to pinpoint the location of every living being within the castle.

’Two guards on the east side... three on the west... and two servants in the kitchen...’ Leon silently recited the information in his mind, a disdainful smile touching his lips. ’Mere mortals. How could they possibly resist a great Wizard?’

He recalled his perilous experience in the Rosenia Kingdom. If he hadn’t removed the mark on him in time, he would have been caught by those Bishops long ago.

But tonight was different. Life Perception clearly showed there wasn’t a single decent Wizard Apprentice in the entire castle.

’That spineless Baron... so pathetic he ran to the Truth Church Court, and he didn’t even receive a Blessing of Truth.’

Leon scoffed internally, his form drifting past the patrolling guards like smoke.

The guards were completely oblivious, still methodically walking their predetermined routes through the wind and snow. The white puffs of their breath dissipated instantly in the frigid air.

As he moved deeper into the castle, Leon began to focus on finding his specific target.

He adjusted the precision of his Magic, filtering out the life signals of ordinary servants. At last, in a small room on the castle’s fourth floor, he sensed a life aura that was different from the rest.

The aura was strong and vibrant, clearly that of a well-trained Knight’s Attendant, yet it also possessed a unique, delicate softness.

’Found her...’ Leon’s breathing hitched, and a glint of avarice flashed in his eyes.

He recalled the lovely figure he had glimpsed from afar during the day. Aurora’s delicate features, graceful bearing, and curvaceous figure replayed in his mind, refusing to leave.

’A peerless beauty like her... if I could just have a taste...’ He licked his dry lips as desire spread through him like wildfire.

The Shadow Ring seemed to sense its master’s longing, the faint light it emitted growing deeper.

Like a black panther that had locked onto its prey, he silently scaled the castle’s outer wall.

The power granted by the Shadow Ring let him move as if on level ground. The stone wall presented no obstacle whatsoever.

Soon, he arrived outside the fourth-floor window.

Through the half-open window, he could faintly hear steady breathing from within.

Life Perception told him there was only one person in the room—his new prey.

’Soon...’ Leon suppressed his excitement. He was just about to climb through the window when he froze.

Years of experience lying in wait forced him to suppress the impulse to act. Instead, he cast [Detection Magic].

The feedback from the Magic only strengthened his conviction. There were no traces of Protective Magic in the room, much less a Blessing of Truth.

’Mere mortals...’ Leon cackled internally, yet he maintained a final shred of caution.

He took out a specially crafted Rune Stone and gently placed it on the snowy windowsill.

This was his fallback, a way to trigger an explosion if needed, creating chaos to cover his escape.

Having done all this, he hesitated no longer.

His form slipped through the window, landing silently on the carpet inside.

Moonlight filtered through the curtains, faintly illuminating the sleeping figure on the bed.

Aurora lay on her side on the soft bed, her long, golden hair cascading across the pillow. In the moonlight, her delicate face looked all the more enchanting.

She slept soundly, a faint, blissful smile on her lips, as if lost in a beautiful dream.

To be honest, Leon hadn’t seen many sights like this.

The circles of nobility were always a chaotic mess. The noblewomen he’d defiled often didn’t care. Some even shamelessly invited him back for another visit, which always left him with a strange sense of emptiness.

But Aurora was different. Such a peaceful, happy expression could only belong to someone who held a true love in her heart.

And what he enjoyed most was destroying precisely this kind of sincere love.

The thought of this beautiful young woman’s despairing expression when she awoke to find herself defiled made him tremble with excitement.

Leon held his breath and drew closer.

Just as he was about to reach Aurora, he suddenly sensed something was wrong.

It was his Spiritual Power, screaming a frantic warning.

The thought had barely crossed his mind when a terrifying force slammed into his back. Agony instantly consumed him.

CRACK!

His spine snapped.
