World Version Updates-Chapter 520 - 321: Fallacy! The God Protocol! (Part 2)
Following an unprecedented global purge, the entire world was swept into chaos. Many high-ranking officials of the Universal Giant Corporation, who had either secretly used the Heavenly Dao Code for illicit activities or harbored dissatisfaction with the Intelligent God, were captured and executed swiftly.
All the cities under Universal Giant Corporation's control faced brutal suppression and cleansing.
Billions were forcibly sent into the newly constructed Soul Towers for various reasons, becoming the fuel for the Intelligent God to draw computational power.
"In that global catastrophe, only our City No.14 miraculously escaped unharmed, without direct cleansing by the Intelligent God."
"Afterwards, the Intelligent God began gathering resources and manpower from around the globe, sparing no expense to construct the Celestial Dome that would cover the entire sky.
It connected the intricate Spiritual Energy circuits above the Celestial Dome with this world's most primal Sea of Spiritual Energy, eventually creating the unparalleled wonder that is the Celestial Dome."
Lu Yan's gaze slightly narrowed, as he keenly captured a crucial detail in Director Gais's words.
"Director Gais, you just mentioned that City No.14's Heavenly Dao Code did not become ineffective during that upheaval?"
Director Gais scratched his already thinning hair, revealing a troubled expression:
"Logically, the Heavenly Dao Code was originally propagated from our City No.14.
However, after the codes in all other locations suddenly failed, only the Heavenly Dao Code within our City No.14 continued to function with its original effectiveness, unchanged."
"I see two potential reasons for this peculiar phenomenon."
Director Gais extended two fingers, continuing his analysis: "The first possibility is that the Intelligent God was never truly affected by the Heavenly Dao Code.
The previous incidents were merely a strategic maneuver by the Intelligent God, an elaborate ploy to lure out and eliminate all dissenters in one fell swoop."
"The second possibility is that there may be some subtle differences between the Heavenly Dao Code used within City No.14 and the copies spread to other cities, which we have yet to discover.
It is this difference that has led to the drastically different outcomes when faced with the Intelligent God's counteractions."
As he spoke, Director Gais retrieved a hefty stack of documents from a safe behind him, handing them to Lu Yan.
"We have conducted extensive research and comparisons regarding the proposed second possibility."
Director Gais indicated the documents: "Over the years, we have collected samples of the Heavenly Dao Code used in different regions and organizations worldwide.
We compared them in detail, line by line, even character by character, with the most original version of the Heavenly Dao Code from within our City No.14.
Regrettably, we did not find a trace of difference.
Structurally, logically, and even in the most minute parameters, they were completely identical."
Lu Yan frowned slightly as he took the weighty documents and began to meticulously review them.
He knew that the essence of the Heavenly Dao Code was truly a fundamental protocol for the special existence known as the Soul Computer.
These documents densely recorded over ten thousand groups of Heavenly Dao Code transcripts, written by different people with varying notes and styles.
Even after an initial browse, he could not discern any apparent discrepancies between these different versions of the Heavenly Dao Code.
"What exactly is the difference between the two?" Lu Yan fell into deep contemplation.
"If there is a significant difference between the Heavenly Dao Code within City No.14 and the copies spread out, then..."
A thought suddenly flashed across Lu Yan's mind.
"The original versions of the Heavenly Dao Code used within City No.14 were remnants from Zhao Huowang.
And it was only through me that they eventually spread out."
"Whereas in other cities, the Heavenly Dao Code primarily involved simple copying and retranscription of our disseminated original versions, followed by second and third iterations."
"Could it be that the difference between the source and the replicas is the pivotal reason for their varying effectiveness?"
Lu Yan recalled how he once, in the cyberpunk version, controlled fierce ghosts in the Soul World, using Soul Power as ink, constructed the massive Heavenly Dao Circle, successfully isolating a part of the Soul World from the Intelligent God's control.
At this point, he instinctively extended his right index finger, slowly sketching a Heavenly Dao Code from pure energy in the void with Magical Power.
Suddenly, just as he was about to complete a crucial character, his finger froze with a jolt.
He clearly felt a nearly imperceptible deviation in the trace of the Heavenly Dao Code he had just written in the void.
Director Gais, standing by, also keenly noted this detail.
He promptly reminded, "Chairman, it seems you made a mistake writing that Heavenly Dao Code just now!"
"Made a mistake?" Lu Yan was startled upon hearing that.
He carefully examined the trajectory of the code he had just drawn using Spiritual Energy characters in the void.
One of the Spiritual Energy characters' form was entirely different from any recorded Heavenly Dao Code in his memory or the documents.
Lu Yan understood that so-called Spiritual Energy characters were not merely simple words or symbols.
They are more like core programs of the Spiritual Energy version, with each character's form and structure showcasing profound mathematical rules and logical relationships to some extent.
This is precisely the wondrous nature of the unique existence known as the Soul Computer.
Though Director Gais claimed he made a mistake in writing.
In Lu Yan's memory, he had manipulated fierce ghosts to write the Heavenly Dao Code countless times in that Soul World.
Every detail of this code had long been imprinted in his mind, how could he make such a basic error at this critical moment?
With this thought, Lu Yan's heart stirred dramatically.
He sank into his thoughts, retrieving a piece of paper stored for a long time, slightly yellowed, from his Storage Space.
This piece of paper was where Lu Yan had recorded the Heavenly Dao Code the last time he left this cyberpunk version.
Due to changes within different versions, Lu Yan even distinctly remembered that after entering the urban version later, the Heavenly Dao Code recorded on this paper spontaneously evolved into a computer programming language belonging to that urban version.
Now, upon reentering this simultaneously familiar and strange cyber version, everything he encountered felt oddly dissonant and eerie.
This instinctively made Lu Yan recall this paper, possibly containing some critical secret.
On the paper, it still displayed that basic computer programming language comprised of countless 0s and 1s.
Lu Yan focused his gaze, inputting the paper's content into an absolutely secure portable computer in the research facility.
In the next moment, with a faint electrical sound, a string of text gradually appeared on the computer screen.
