...
Lin Yi stared at the panel for a moment.
Level 37.
Nine levels gained within minutes.
Even Lin Yi himself had to admit the speed was outrageous.
"Hazardous dungeon..." he murmured quietly The Celestial Emperor’s Abode truly lived up to its reputation.
Lin Yi then closed the panel with a thought. Then his gaze moved toward his inventory. More specifically, toward the newly acquired weapon.
The Celestial Lord Blade.
Lin Yi tapped the item, and the weapon materialized in his hand in a flash of golden light. The blade was breathtaking. Longer than the Abyssfang Blade, its metal was a deep radiant gold. Ancient celestial runes flowed along its surface like moving rivers of light, and a faint pressure radiated from it. The kind of pressure only high rank weapons carried.
Lin Yi tested its weight. It was heavier than his previous weapon, but thanks to Titan Grip, controlling it felt completely natural. He gave the blade a slow swing.
Whoosh.
The air itself seemed to split slightly under the weapon’s edge.
Lin Yi’s lips curved faintly. "My attack power just skyrocketed."
Even without looking at numbers, he could feel it. The Abyssfang Blade had an attack power of 195. The Celestial Lord Blade carried 405 attack power. More than double. Against monsters at his level, that difference was enormous.
Lin Yi sheathed the Abyssfang Blade. From this moment forward, the Celestial Lord Blade became his primary weapon.
Then his gaze lifted.
Ahead of him stood the massive golden gate the guardians had been protecting. Now that the Celestial Guardians were gone, the path forward was completely open.
Lin Yi walked toward it slowly. Each step echoed across the jade courtyard. The massive doors towered above him like the entrance to a heavenly palace.
Lin Yi placed his hand against the gate.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then the runes suddenly lit up.
A deep rumbling sound echoed through the palace.
BOOOOOOM.
The gate slowly began to open, and golden light poured out from within the chamber. Lin Yi narrowed his eyes slightly and stepped forward. The doors parted completely.
And Lin Yi entered.
.....
The space beyond the gate was enormous, far larger than the courtyard outside. It was a grand palace chamber.
White jade pillars rose toward the ceiling, each one carved with intricate celestial patterns. Golden lanterns floated in the air, bathing the room in soft light.
But what struck Lin Yi the most was the spiritual energy.
The entire chamber was saturated with it. The air itself felt heavy. Every breath Lin Yi took seemed to fill his body with pure energy.
"This place..."
Lin Yi nodded slowly.
"This must be the Celestial Emperor’s chamber."
At the far end of the room stood a massive platform. And atop it was a bed. An enormous golden bed carved from celestial jade and surrounded by flowing silk curtains.
The Celestial Emperor’s bedroom.
Lin Yi stepped closer, curiosity rising inside him.
But as he approached, his brows slowly furrowed.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
The room was empty.
There was no Celestial Emperor. No boss. Nothing.
Lin Yi stopped several meters from the bed.
"...What?"
His eyes scanned the entire room carefully.
Still nothing.
Lin Yi frowned slightly. "That’s strange."
He was not unfamiliar with the Celestial Emperor’s Abode dungeon. It was one of the most well known dungeon events in the hunter world. Every hunter knew its structure.
First came the outer palace. Then the guardians. Then the Celestial Emperor boss.
A Level 40 dungeon boss.
That was the final encounter of the dungeon.
But right now there was no boss.
The chamber was completely empty.
Lin Yi crossed his arms thoughtfully. "So what exactly were those guardians protecting?"
He slowly walked deeper into the chamber, examining everything carefully. The bed. The pillars. The floor.
Nothing unusual appeared at first.
Then his eyes caught something.
A small object resting on a nearby table.
Lin Yi walked over.
It was a piece of parchment. Old. Ancient even. Yet somehow still perfectly preserved.
Lin Yi picked it up.
The moment he touched it, faint golden characters appeared on its surface.
A poem.
Lin Yi began reading:
When the heavens fall silent and the emperor departs,
The throne remains, but the crown returns to dust.
Seek not the ruler within golden halls,
For the dragon has long since left the sky.
Only those who walk beyond the gate unseen
Shall glimpse the path where immortals once trod.
Lin Yi blinked.
"...What?"
He read the poem again.
Still confusing.
"Is this some kind of riddle?"
He turned the parchment over, but nothing else was written.
Then suddenly the chamber trembled slightly.
Lin Yi looked up.
A section of the wall across the room began glowing faintly. Golden lines appeared on the surface. Then slowly a door formed.
It hadn’t been there before.
Lin Yi stared at it.
"...An exit?"
That made things even stranger.
If this was truly the boss chamber, why was there no boss? And why did the dungeon simply allow him to leave?
Lin Yi looked down at the parchment again.
The poem echoed in his mind.
Seek not the ruler within golden halls...
Lin Yi narrowed his eyes slightly.
"That can’t be the real ending of this dungeon."
Something about this place felt incomplete, as if the true secret of the Celestial Emperor’s Abode was hidden somewhere else.
Lin Yi folded the parchment carefully and opened his system inventory. A new item appeared.
...
Celestial Emperor’s Note
.....
Lin Yi placed the parchment inside his inventory. Even if he didn’t understand the poem now, it was clearly important.
Then Lin Yi turned toward the newly appeared door.
The exit.
He walked toward it slowly. Just before leaving, he looked back once more at the empty chamber.
"The Celestial Emperor..." He murmured quietly. "Where exactly did you go?"
Lin Yi stepped through the doorway, and the moment he crossed the threshold, light swallowed his vision, and the Celestial Emperor’s Abode vanished behind him.
