Chapter 1484: Chapter 1484: Everything Going Smoothly?

The database salvaged from the enemy’s sovereignty hub is extremely complete. We’re fortunate for Xiao Xue’s accurate prediction, allowing this database to survive the Empire fleet’s bombardment. The information it stores is beyond many people’s expectations. Previously, even Sandora wouldn’t have imagined that such a small border world would record so much sensitive information related to the Abyss Zone’s interior—although much of this information was inferred by us, the comprehensiveness of its coverage is somewhat unusual.

However, scientists have confirmed the authenticity of this database through technical means, and Xiao Xue hasn’t found any dangerous aspects, so we’re not too worried about being misled by the enemy.

The database records the opening status of the World Gate in this border world, with detailed logs of the world coordinates each time the gate opens, the number of fleets passing, the military significance of the target world, etc. Although it’s still far from deducing an entire territorial map of the Abyss Zone, it’s enough to reverse-engineer each nodal world on the Fallen Apostle’s border. After a meticulous analysis of these scattered passage records, experts have drawn up a crude "map." From this "map," we discovered that the Imperial Army’s attack hit the jackpot: this heavily guarded universe with an ultra-sturdy sovereignty hub is indeed one of the major Fortress Worlds in the enemy’s border areas.

Just like when I stopped briefly at a Fortress World in the New Empire border during my visit to the Twin Star World, it belongs to a heavily militarized location.

Because it’s an important stronghold, it took a lot of effort for the Imperial Army to attack here. Yet, for the same reason, the sovereignty hub here recorded so much sensitive information—whether this is fortunate or unfortunate, it generally outweighs the risks.

"This universe is directly connected to fourteen border worlds, and within three jumps from thirty-two inland worlds," Sandora said while allocating the attack plans in reference to the "map." "Inland worlds are tempting, but I don’t recommend rushing in now—judging by their ability to send reinforcements, they still have a lot of deployable forces inside the Abyss Zone. Advancing alone could be dangerous. So, we have fourteen targets to attack, excluding half of the heavily guarded universes, leaving seven targets."

I looked at the Void Diagram in front of me. To intuitively display the situation at the border of the Abyss Zone, the experts responsible for compiling this "map" have used triangular color codes to represent each universe directly. The world we’ve already occupied is marked in blue, with fourteen simple lines radiating around it pointing to other universes. Some of them have "dangerous" annotations, as shown by World Gate logs indicating exceptionally high fleet traffic over a long period. They’re likely Fortress Worlds like this one, possibly harboring several Fallen Apostle Group Armies, making them unsuitable attack targets.

After thoughtful consideration, Sandora marked three targets on the Void Diagram: "The Fourth Fleet and Celestial System Fleet will continue to construct a base here, while the Celestial System Fleet will allocate thirty Planet Fortresses, forming three groups in the attacking forces. Fleet One and Six will handle Target One, Fleet Seven and all reserve units will assault Target Two in waves, and the Royal Fleet with the Revenge Fleet will tackle Target Three. All right, let’s start preparing, we depart in thirty minutes."

Sandora allocated these forces according to the potential defensive strength of the target worlds. Of everyone present, I believe no one is more adept at this than her; after all, she often pioneered and expanded territory in her youth. So, after Sandora’s orders, there were no objections, and everyone hurriedly started preparing—Qianqian played with a Magic Cube, Xiao Xue touched up her makeup, Monina checked the soup she had been brewing, Bingdisi pulled the remaining Divine Clan fellows for one last round of mahjong. I looked around and noticed there weren’t many normal ones, feeling cold sweat pouring down, until I saw Sandora walking towards me like a savior: "Sandora, I know you must have integrity..."

Her Majesty the Queen smacked her lips: "I’m going to eat tons of food to fill my belly; there won’t be time to eat during the battle."

Me: "..." I silently sat back in my seat, continued comforting Alaya, while muttering about those shameless folks.

Thirty minutes later, the army set off. The Celestial System Fleet detached some Planet Fortresses suitable for ex-orbital combat, sending them into three military routes while the remaining Planet Fortresses continued to build bases on-site. The Ghost Energy Death Star used its mighty power to tear several gigantic Void Rifts around them, allowing the vast Imperial Army to jump into the Void and proceed towards other universes of the Fallen Apostle.

The Imperial Fleet was the last batch to depart. We directly anchored the fleet in the orbit of the Storm Planet Fortress, concealed within the immense Joint Order Field generated by the colossal entities, entering the Void like this — it’s indeed a novel way of traveling: fleets don’t need to propel themselves; just hovering over enormous artificial planets can take them to battlefields. Ordinarily massive mother ships turn into passengers, making one wonder just how many insane things the Empire has created—knowing that even the Celestial System Fleet treats Planet Fortresses as carrier planes, the Ghost Energy Death Star alone has a huge amount of planetary Gnaku...

I stood on the upper platform of the Imperial Admiral, looking at the fleets behind the faint gray, slightly larger than Earth planet battleship, and other space fleets around. For a moment, I was deeply moved. Dingdang, who was burrowing in my pocket, heard my emotion yet couldn’t quite grasp it: "What’s so strange? Dingdang is already used to being carried around!"

I silently glanced at this little thing, thinking that’s true. I’m Dingdang’s mother ship, this little one always burrowing in my pocket counts as my carrier plane...

Sandora and Bingdisi were standing beside me; they should have little reaction to the scene but were discussing other matters. Bingdisi turned her head to look at a distant silver-white planet and muttered to Sandora: "Have you ever thought about fixing that AI’s brain?"

That silver-white planet was the War Song, located at the "tips of the tail" of the entire United Fleet along with other Revenge Army ships. From here, its size appeared only as large as the moon (as a matter of fact, due to alignment, each Planet Fortress of the United Fleet looked about the size of the moon and was in a straight line, their surfaces shimmering with Planet Shields’ glow, looking up like there’s ten moons hanging in the sky), and the War Song was the only "truly" planet battleship here. She knew this and was exceptionally smug now, with the public channel filled with her frantic blabber: "This ship is now invincible," "This ship’s Divine Skill is perfected, a fortress cannon is added on the equator. Isn’t the fortress cannon formidable?" "This ship feels very advantageous; it plans to take on ten soon..." "This ship is going to scout ahead..." "This ship’s gear is deployed, don’t be afraid, this ship is about to create a miracle, it really has a full set of main cannons now... Military Governor, shut up; anti-aircraft guns are also main cannons! You’re not bigger than this ship’s belly button, don’t think you can comment on this ship’s belly button just because you are the fleet commander-in-chief. It’s the General’s authority... General, do you think this ship’s belly button is big?"

Visca was also on the upper platform of the Imperial Admiral. I looked at this "General," and discovered she nodded in agreement: that Madman really doesn’t disappoint as her creation! Look at their aesthetics!

Sandora listened to the War Song’s screams with an expressionless face: "If there was a cure, do you think we’d willingly abandon treatment?"

Bingdisi glanced sympathetically at Sandora: "By the way, War Song was originally your signature flagship... watching your personal ship inserted with a goofy soul, don’t you have something to say?"

Sandora turned away: "Does mentioning this have to kill me... let me have some quiet..."

I stared at the distant War Song, with her racket still ringing in my mind, but I knew this was just the awkward ship AI trying to cheer Visca up with her method. Perhaps she also tried to inspire the entire fleet, albeit with odd means; more so due to good intentions, so I won’t reprimand her. Yet, this one is indeed too noisy... After a long time contemplating, I connected the spiritual link to the War Song: "Er Fengzi!"

"Ah, brother of the General!" Er Fengzi suddenly froze, "Big Brother has something for this ship? This ship’s entire main cannon awaits your command!"

"If you keep babbling, I’ll open a special line to the star domain, linking you eternally with Qian Yuhao spiritually, do you believe?"

This trick really worked: Er Fengzi instantly went silent, then muttered a sentence after several minutes: "Silence is golden..."

Sandora and Bingdisi glanced over with a worshipful gaze, and I nodded at them with a mysterious smile: "When dealing with a madman, you have to find someone even crazier—back in the Divine Realm, Qian Yuhao once spoke almost madly to this lunatic..."

Bingdisi was circling around, unable to understand the difference between "lunatic" and "madman," when Sivis finally sent a message from the command center: "Your Majesty! We’ve arrived in the material world!"

Sandora quickly entered battle mode: "All fleets, attention, deploy the Order Field Stabilizer, launch the Void Disruptor, and prepare to conquer the World Barrier!"

As expected, the Fallen Apostle was already laying in wait at the World Barrier: although we used strong interference to prevent the enemy from finding out the true movements of the Imperial Army, they were able to set up temporary defenses at all border worlds to fend off the invasion. The Royal Fleet dispatched a Void Special Service Ship Group to check the situation at the World Barrier, and they discovered an extremely chaotic information storm: the enemy had completely covered the World Barrier with temporary Void Disruptors.

But these are not a problem; we can clearly feel that this world’s defense forces are weaker than the universe we previously conquered. The enemy merely reinforced the existing defenses but did not send sufficient additional troops. Clearly, they are unaware that the Imperial Army has acquired their border defense map: the surprise attack is unprecedentedly smooth.

We are now back on the Imperial Admiral’s bridge, Sandora inquired about the Void Special Service Ship Group’s situation and resolutely decided to send more fleets to support. Watching the intelligence from the telemetry system, she smiled pleasantly: "This time is a sure win, the defense forces of this world are very weak."

Er Fengzi had been silent until now, finally losing his composure, yelling in the public channel: "This ship wants to attack! This ship wants to fight ten! The smell of war, there’s the smell of war ahead! Although this ship doesn’t have a nose, describing it this way surely isn’t wrong—General needs victory!"

"Though yelling fiercely, without orders you’d still hold back from taking action," I glanced at the War Song in the holographic image, she remained in her original place, merely spinning eightfold its usual speed, looking agitated and desperate for battle, "Looks like Visca’s command is truly supreme for her; when Visca made her follow orders, she never violated military discipline."

"If she holds back any longer, there might be no rescue," Sandora also glanced at the War Song, "War Song, your Math Rate modification equipment can increase the load of the Void Disruptor; go assist in breaking through the World Barrier, Great Governor, lead the Revenge Fleet alongside War Song to spearhead, jump in immediately after opening the World Barrier, not to kill enemies but to deploy a sufficiently stable Joint Shield for the main forces to enter."

"Understood!" "Alright!" ← ← You see these two never seem to be in sync.

Equipped with the damage definition system and various T2 Shields, the Revenge Fleet with War Song as the flagship possesses survival capabilities stronger than the Royal Fleet; therefore, they’re perfectly suited as the vanguard. Upon receiving orders to set out, War Song immediately became exuberant, leaping from the Order Field of the United Fleet and vanishing. Moments later, we received their report of engaging the enemy in a scramble on the World Barrier with great prospects: although Er Fengzi’s personality appears somewhat twisted, as a "customized" core host, its performance and evolutionary ability are indeed extraordinary, it seems she has completely mastered War Song’s power, I believe the World Barrier will soon be conquered.

Everything is going according to plan smoothly, the temporary disruptors set by the enemy on the World Barrier only offered symbolic resistance before all going into overload, Er Fengzi cheered and jumped into the material world, shortly afterwards we received the Revenge Army’s report of "battle area pacified."

The Royal Fleet jumped into the target universe with a defensive formation, and we found this completely superfluous: the Revenge Army "cleaned up" this place even better than expected. Upon entering the battle area, only some sporadic Super Space-Time Firepower was received from the edge of the universe, indicating the world’s garrison wasn’t completely annihilated. Around the battle area within hundreds of millions of light-years range, we could only scan three piles of small-scale enemy ship wreckage—they were widely spaced, triangulated formation, supposedly the inherent military bases of this universe. Given their scale, this world’s defensive strength seems much weaker than we expected.

War Song led the fleet clearing the entire battle area within an hour and now inflated to almost bursting like a star. She circled the battlefield, exultantly yelling: "Total victory! Total victory! THIS is truly total victory! General would be delighted! However, such battles are too unsatisfying... We should fight stronger enemies, don’t you agree General’s brother?"

I unilaterally ignored this noisy ship AI, simultaneously ordered the Royal Fleet to eliminate the residual garrison in the universe while studying the espionage probe’s transmitted scan map with Sandora: after the local Fallen Apostle garrison was nearly wiped out by Lightning, the interference signals pervasive in space ceased, allowing the espionage probe to chart a detailed universe map, even marking every enemy Space Fortress position. Looking at the few remaining military bases (of course now called military base wreckages), Sandora seemed somewhat deflated: "Feels like a great fuss for nothing, where either the Revenge Army or Royal Fleet alone could handle it."

"Border worlds have weak spots too," I chuckled, "Perhaps this universe is just beginning construction, see most star systems here are yet undeveloped."

"How are other sections faring?" Sandora leaned over to the command hall below to inquire, Sivis quickly responded: "All fleets advancing smoothly, the Seventh Fleet already started to assault the enemy’s Sovereignty Hub."

"Well, seems my misjudgment wasn’t a bad thing," Sandora nodded, "Let them keep pushing forward, upon universe conquest, immediately jump to the next universe according to plan—let’s strive to dig up the enemy’s border territories first."

Unexpectedly, after the Imperial Army’s first battle met a tough nut, they swiftly turned to good fortune: the Imperial Army, split into three factions, progressed extraordinarily smooth, all fleets accurately attacked weak points in the enemy’s defense line without facing fierce resistance, without encountering troublesome Space Fortresses like the first world, nor facing the Border Defense Army gathered for a strict defense. Indeed, the database obtained from the first world’s Sovereignty Hub and Xiao Xue’s Prophecy played a decisive role in this, but even with those factors, the current operation’s smoothness still felt unreal to me.

"Great Governor, did you destroy this world’s Sovereignty Hub?"

While I pondered whether I was overly paranoid or experiencing a Sixth Sense revelation, Sandora suddenly asked that question.

The Great Governor’s voice echoed in the communicator: "Yes, the local Sovereignty Hub was very fragile and structurally simple. This world seemed to be a minor transit port, its Sovereignty Hub was almost just a World Gate with encryption; the fleet’s one round of bombing destroyed it."

Sandora furrowed her brow: "Nothing left behind?"

"No, we preserved its database as much as possible," the Great Governor informed us of the good news, "Before departure, Princess Predicted the database’s location, despite some damage during combat, the database structure is fundamentally intact, now we are attempting to decrypt it."

Hearing this theoretically comforting news, Sandora not only didn’t relax her brow but became more solemn. (To be continued.
