Xyrin Empire-Chapter 681: Sorry, the Loli you are looking for is not in the service area
Chapter 681: Chapter 681: Sorry, the Loli you are looking for is not in the service area
Big Sister truly did something extraordinary, managing to establish peaceful coexistence among a group of little girls in a state of war, all through the act of playing games together. Although, I’ve always thought that teaching a bunch of lolis to team up and PK in WoW was kinda...whatever.
If possible, it would be so lovely for them to play Super Mario instead.
"You’ve got to understand, there’s really not much that can bring them together like this and keep them happy," Big Sister said, shrugging helplessly in the face of my perplexity, "Zhenhong doesn’t like strategy games, Mercury Lamp isn’t good at puzzles, Cui Xing Shi is a complete fighting game idiot, Lilina hates maze exploration, Chu Mei can’t understand the rules of battle chess, and Pandora absolutely detests music—these kids have in common is a lack of interest in what normal children (are you sure these still count as children, sis?) enjoy and right now they all want to fight, yeah, because they didn’t get enough of it earlier. They originally joined the game because they heard they could fight, but to prevent them from flaring up again, I roped in Sal and his buddies who happened to come over for dinner."
Big Sister, you are formidable.
Of course, gaming aside, I could still spot the differences between the lolis, the pseudo-lolis, and the miniature girls. It seemed like all the Rose Maidens were truly immersed. They had heard about electronic games, these novel things, but playing them firsthand was a first. Naturally, they were engrossed. Lilina joined purely for the chaos, her character "Ding a big bang" being a sneaky Stalker, while Little Bubbles seemed to be a complete gaming noob, inheriting not a single gaming gene from her otaku mom (which is truly a blessing for the Chen Family), or maybe she was just too young (which would be quite unfortunate). The little girl had no clue what the game in front of her was about, just rolling her face across the keyboard (literally!) and babbling away. But, she was already overjoyed to be playing with so many sisters. On the other hand, Pandora and Visca were clearly just along for the ride. Interested only in bombing everything to smithereens in the real world, they found themselves goofing around with the younger girls, all due to Big Sister’s...cough, majestic presence—even two Generals who could lay waste to thousands had no choice but to join in the silly fun at a time like this.
I just never expected that these distinctly different doll girls would enjoy playing so much... Even though both Zhenhong and Mercury Lamp have quite mature personalities.
"After all, they’ve never truly had memories of playing," Sandora, sensing my thoughts, came over to whisper, "It’s just making up for a childhood they’ve never had."
A childhood that starts with teaming up in WoW to play as real heroes of Azeroth? Our family’s education is pretty amazing!
"But it really is amazing, your humans’ entertainment capabilities," Sandora, who had been curiously watching the little girls using all sorts of threats and bribes on Sal’s "Little Princess Training Team" since a while ago, now sighed in wonderment, "With such rudimentary devices and simple programs, you can turn your wild imaginations into something so interesting. Such creativity is actually very powerful even across the multi-universe."
"That exaggerated?" I was surprised, "Sandora, are you also interested in human electronic games?"
I never would have thought that even the Queen herself had played video games! If that were the case... all the geeks in the world, pay your respects to the strongest tech geek (Bubbles) and military geek (Sandora) combo in the multi-universe! What a terrifying combination!
"No, I’m not that interested in these things," Sandora shook her head, "Such entertainment is not suitable for a monarch, but if I must say, I’m just envious of the protagonist of one game..."
"Eh?"
I was taken aback. Does Sandora have her own 2D idol?
After seriously considering for a moment, the Queen nodded with grave solemnity: "Pac-Man!"
I was almost choking: "..."
Sandora continued to explain: "Think about it, Ah Jun. The only organ is a mouth, the only job is eating. Isn’t that amazing?"
Hearing the Queen’s nuclear bomb-level declaration, everyone in the living room turned pale. I couldn’t help thinking, this girl was truly free-spirited; aside from eating, there seemed to be nothing else in her mind. Could it be that in Sandora’s eyes, the only vital organ a creature needed was a mouth?
At least complete the digestive system, girl!
Seeing our puzzled faces, Sandora maintained her serious demeanor for a good while before finally breaking into laughter, the golden-haired girl snickered, "Haha, Ah Jun, you actually believed me!"
...Alright then, I forgot that Sandora sometimes, just sometimes, enters her playful mode.
At that moment, I suddenly felt a delicate ripple in my Spirit Sea.
With a thought, a white halo accompanied by the illusion of Angel Feathers spread out from my wrist, and a pure white little girl gradually appeared in the air. Little Qi Jing gripped my pants tightly, her face filled with curiosity as she pointed at the terminals where a group of her sisters were happily playing.
"Ha ah— Ha ah—"
The Pure Energy Body girl who couldn’t speak yet made muffled giggling sounds, anxiously tugging at my pant leg, which surprised me greatly, "Want to play?"
"Play?" Qi Jing tilted her head in confusion, then nodded happily, "Play!"
"She wants to make contact with the outside world!"
Sandora immediately exclaimed.
It was the first time Xue Huajing showed the initiative to want to make contact with the outside world!
All this time, I had been troubled by this little guy in my Spirit World: she lacked the desire to contact the outside world.
At first, nobody noticed this problem because when Qi Jing first saw the outside world, she did indeed show great curiosity. This little girl could observe the outside world enthusiastically through the "Angel’s Ring" synchronously formed by Alaya and me. She was never short of questions about the fresh and colorful wonders of the world, but when I first suggested that she walk around outside by herself, the little one immediately looked very puzzled and then wooshed right back into "Father’s" Spirit World.
After that, I tried many methods to generate Qi Jing’s desire for the outside world, but she only ever showed curiosity and never thought to join in, which confused all of us, including Sandora, for a long time.
It wasn’t until recently that Alaya, a mysticism expert, came up with her own hypothesis:
Qi Jing may not have considered the outside world as a "real existence."
The little Pure Spiritual Body girl now had little to do with the Xue Huajing from before—other than her appearance, she was completely starting from scratch in another individual’s Spirit World. Her body came from the "father and mother’s" spiritual fragments, her cradle and room were "Father’s" thoughts, her first toy was "Mother’s" feathers, and her playground was the vast white Spirit Sea. To Qi Jing, who had an extremely peculiar life form, my Spirit Sea was her entire world, and it was the only real place. As for the real world—as real as it was for us—it was like a fantastical documentary to Qi Jing.
Little Qi Jing viewed the real world as we watch movies; full of curiosity, yet nobody would think to jump into the screen to really enter the film world—I admit many people these days are dying to travel to another universe, but little Qi Jing clearly wasn’t one of them.
Even the most clever child won’t understand what they shouldn’t, and Alaya and I spent a long time explaining to Qi Jing the connection between the outside world and the Spirit World. But that little girl stubbornly believed only the vast emptiness where she lived was real. This, determined by her form of life, gave me and the Dull Cat Angel endless headaches as her parents (...).
True, Qi Jing could grow safely in my Spirit World, but it would be too pitiful if she shut herself away there forever—this child could only dwell in the crevices of human dreams and illusions in her past life. I didn’t want her to live a life even lonelier than that, even if Qi Jing wasn’t aware of it yet. That was one reason; another was that Qi Jing, being a pure spiritual entity without a body, had a very fragile soul, all the more so because it was at the stage of a one- to two-month-old baby’s soul. Although she could safely exist in my Spirit World now, what would happen if one day I got caught in a battle? Could fighting using my spiritual power somehow harm this little one? This was no joking matter. Hence, it was urgent for Qi Jing to grow rapidly, at least to the point where she could independently enter the real space, and without leaving the house, all plans for growth would be mere talk.
Unfortunately, the child had only ever been interested in observing the outside world and showed a clueless expression every time the idea of taking a walk outside was mentioned. Then she’d shake her head and dive back into the Spirit Sea—I didn’t even know how she regarded those who usually played with her, such as Sandora and the others; did she consider them NPCs?
But now, it seemed Qi Jing finally showed the desire for the first time to participate in things of the outside world, and not just out of mere curiosity, how could that not be delightful?
"It’s just that the first thing the child showed interest in as she grew up turned out to be this," I watched Lilina rampage through the game, with Little Qi Jing beside her making excited exclamation, feeling so conflicted inside, "One oddball like Bubbles is already enough..."
"Goo ah!"
A call from Little Baobao interrupted my feelings, and looking down, I saw the Little Angel in a pristine Princess Dress had already slipped to my side. She was curiously looking at Qi Jing in a semi-transparent state, who looked nervous, and was babbling a greeting to her.
Oh oh oh, Little Bubbles, after rolling your face on the keyboard for so long, you finally realized you’re not cut out for games and decided to find some peers to play with?
Qi Jing looked at the slightly taller little girl in front of her with some surprise (the Rose Maiden’s pitiable height, even though she looked like a young girl, couldn’t help but make one see her as a Loli) and a series of question marks seemed to float above her head before she hesitantly said, "Play?"
Little Bubbles’ eyes shone brightly as she nodded vigorously and then patted her little hands with gusto.
All of a sudden, a cacophony of sounds—reminiscent of a startled deer crashing into a general store—erupted from upstairs, and a couple of seconds later, a golden object dashed down the living room staircase, "What happened?"
Gilgamesh, or just galgames in common pronunciation, humanity’s most ancient queen, and the current Imperial Princess’s personal nanny, had recently mastered a baffling skill: she had to make a spectacular entrance within three seconds of the Little Princess’s summons.
"Mwah mwah~!~!" Little Bubbles pointed at the micro girl next to her chewing on her finger and blinking, and introduced her new playmate to her nanny sister in her invented Little Bubbles language.
It seemed Little Bubbles wanted Sister Jier to bring out all her toys, because the latter simply nodded then vanished at the top of the staircase—a truly astonishing turn of events, considering Little Bubbles had never shared her toys with anyone before: not even Qianqian was allowed.
Speaking of going to ask children of your daughter’s generation for toys, Qianqian, what exactly are you up to?
"Alright, go and play with your Sister Bubbles," I said, giving Qi Jing an encouraging push on the back as I saw the excitement on her face: it was definitely better than teaming up with Lilina to figure out how to backstab people in the arena.
"Go and play?" Qi Jing repeated, suddenly beaming with a broad smile, "Play!"
Watching the two happy little girls trot upstairs, Sandora and I exchanged glances.
"Little Bubbles has finally found a playmate, huh?"
"Two extra-large infants, huh?"
We both sighed together.
Anyways, Qi Jing had finally taken an interest in the outside world and, what’s more, had the sudden epiphany to play with her own sisters, while Little Bubbles found a playmate with an intelligence level similar to her own—which was vital because she’d been constantly bullied by Lilina. This was all commendable, like anxious parents finally seeing their children grow up healthy; Sandora and several other parents and I took a comforted breath.
But just as that breath was half-way out, a thunderous wail from Little Bubbles from upstairs caught us all off guard.
"Wah..."
The sound was heartbreakingly sad; Little Bubbles burst into a cry that filled the entire house, as if Pandora had snatched away an entire month’s worth of lollipops, and even the Mercury Lamp engrossed in the Talent Tree research quieted down suddenly.
Without even a moment to think, I, along with Sandora and a grand procession of Three Aunts and Six Aunties Promotion Association members belonging exclusively to Little Bubbles, stormed up to the second floor. But when we arrived breathlessly at Little Bubbles’ door, what we saw was a Little Loli wailing on the floor and a flustered Lady Shining standing beside her.
"What happened?"
I went to pick up the little girl and asked Lady Shining, the only informed person present.
"How would I know!" The Queen, who was polite only to Little Baobao and rude to everyone else, immediately yelled in frustration, "I was just cleaning the room inside, and Little Baobao began crying out loud at the door!"
Ah Jun, where is Xue Huajing?"
Big Sister suddenly noticed something and looked around, asking.
I was taken aback: Right, where is Qi Jing?
"Wuwu... ya... gua..." Little Baobao sniveled and rambled unclearly, while Lady Shining provided real-time translation next to her: "Little sister has faded, vanished, lost by herself."
I broke out in cold sweat at that moment!
Xue Huajing suddenly disappearing? What kind of international joke was this!
But just when everyone was in chaos and about to launch a major search due to Xue Huajing’s sudden disappearance, I suddenly felt someone tugging at my pants.
Looking down, I saw the spiritual body girl who had vanished less than two minutes ago looking straight up at me, her face still wearing that carefree smile, laughing and shouting, "Haha, play! Let’s play together!"
"Oh my Dingdang," I nearly got scared to death by this girl. I heaved a sigh of relief, quickly picking up the little girl to check her over for injuries, while Sandora took a long look at the "father and daughter" and ventured a guess, "Maybe she just wasn’t in the service area just now."
Everyone: "...?"
"Xue Huajing isn’t able to maintain her own form in the real world yet, right? She relies on Ah Jun’s spiritual power to materialize herself, and if she gets too far away and the signal is too weak, she just disappears back into Ah Jun’s Spirit Sea."
After Sandora’s explanation, I finally understood, and then looked at my newly acclaimed daughter with a headache – there were already a number of quirky lolis at home, and I originally thought it wouldn’t be easy to have a normal daughter who was like a little bird relying on people, but how come this one only supports local networks too?
"Alright, the problem’s solved," Big Sister let out a sigh of relief, waved her hand for everyone to go back to their own business, then turned and walked downstairs. I was stunned, my face twisting, "Wait! What about me?"
Sandora gave a mischievous smile in this direction and chuckled, "Just play with your daughter! It’s your fault for having a weak signal!"
"It’s this girl herself who doesn’t support roaming, okay," I grumbled while watching Little Baobao hold Qi Jing’s hand excitedly, rambling on about their separation. The latter had no idea what confusion she had just caused, but she seemed to have taken quite a liking to her new "big sister" across from her, occasionally responding with echoes of Little Baobao’s babble, "Anyone have a way to build me a signal tower? I still want to sleep tonight!"
Unfortunately, no one paid attention to this matter. Sandora, before going downstairs, even gave me a seductive roll of her eyes and mouthed the words, "This is your punishment!"
Alright, alright, it’s just playing with two little brats studying dolls, right? Can’t I ruin my own reputation as a nurturing dad!
With such a self-deprecating thought in mind, I turned and walked toward Little Baobao’s room, only to be startled by a face full of resentment and wariness heading my way: "Jil, what are you doing!"
The most ancient Queen crossed her arms, her face full of horror, "You lowlife! Are you planning to share a bed with me today? Do you realize how offensive that is! Even if it kills me, I must protect my own..."
"Share a bed my foot!" I slapped the chatty blowhard on the head, "Flatter than Pandora! Today you’re sleeping on the floor!"
"Ah ah ah! Damn lowlife! To offend the greatest sovereign like this! Just you wait! Flat is a figure, vertical is a line too!"
