Chapter 561: Chapter 558: Is This Really Falling in Love?

Chapter 558 [Is This Really Love?]

Chen Nuo entered the hall, strolled around a bit, and saw Dali coming out of an office.

Seeing Chen Nuo, Dali hurried over and called out, "Senior Brother."

Chen Nuo looked at Dali and asked, "Where’s Luo Qing?"

"In the holding room," Dali pouted. "I just finished recording the statement."

Chen Nuo laughed, "You didn’t get physical? Why do you need to record a statement then?"

"I went to the talent market with him, but when Luo Qing got into a fight, I happened not to be nearby.

I was with him all day, got impatient, and went outside for a smoke. The hall was suffocating with smoke.

After taking a break outside, when I came back in, I found out Luo Qing caused trouble.

If I were there, the person would have ended up in the hospital."

As he spoke, Dali had a face of regret — a sense of missing an opportunity to fight.

Chen Nuo shook his head, thinking, thank goodness you weren’t there, otherwise things would have escalated.

Dali is a brute; if he injured someone, it would have been troublesome.

"Can we see Luo Qing?"

"Should be able to? I’ll ask my brother-in-law."

Not being inexperienced, Chen Nuo understood that, at worst, this was just a "mutual fight."

Most likely, the person getting hit retaliated.

As long as you insist the other party retaliated, it’s a mutual fight.

As for how mutual fighting would be characterized, it depends on the injuries.

Luo Qing probably didn’t fight well. The blows shouldn’t be heavy.

According to regulations, it’s not yet time to visit those involved in the case.

Wait for the police to complete the statement process, then you can visit.

In fact, for trivial matters like this, such strictness isn’t necessary.

Sometimes, families can visit those involved, discuss, apologize where needed, compensate where required, and quickly resolve the matter, saving the police some effort. In such minor issues, police are often happy for a quick resolution.

Chen Nuo didn’t bother asking too much...

This was too minor, no need.

"Go find your brother-in-law, communicate with Luo Qing, and apologize where needed, pay where needed, have Luo Qing lay low, and get him out of the station first.

No need to be tough now, being stubborn means he’ll stay here longer.

Let him go home first.

We have a thousand ways to make the other party pay later, why bother now?"

Dali laughed, "The other side probably wants money."

"Just give it, whatever they ask for, give it.

Get Luo Qing out first, we can handle it afterward, and it’s not like they can flee with the money.

Consider it a deposit with them."

Chen Nuo pursed his lips, went back to the hall, found a seat, and sat down.

Brother Lei was courteous, greeted Chen Nuo, bought him a bottle of water, and went to handle things as Chen Nuo instructed.

There weren’t many people in the station’s hall that evening.

Chen Nuo sat resting, then saw a timid-looking young woman enter, asking something at the front desk, and filling out some registration.

Initially, Chen Nuo didn’t care until he heard the woman mention "Luo Qing" in conversation with the staff.

Chen Nuo instinctively looked up.

After registering, the woman nervously sat down in the waiting area, not far from Chen Nuo.

Cautiously, Chen Nuo glanced twice at the woman.

The woman looked quite young, maybe around twenty. She could pass for eighteen or nineteen, or even twenty-two or twenty-three.

Overall, she seemed...

Innocent and naive.

Dressed simply, appearing from average economic background. Shirt, jeans, sneakers.

Holding an old canvas bag, gripping it tightly seemed to show her nervousness.

Her fingers kept fiddling the bag’s creases.

What intrigued Chen Nuo was...

The girl was quite pretty.

Not that she was some peerless beauty — after all, Chen Nuo had two beauties at home.

No match for the group around Yama, that bunch of nutjobs.

She’s at the level where...

If she passed by, you’d naturally take a second look.

Once she passed, most men would turn for another glance.

That’s about her level.

Chen Nuo scrutinized her openly, and the girl noticed, looking at him with a bit of tension, frowning.

Chen Nuo smiled and withdrew his gaze.

The girl looked towards the police at the desk, relieved — after all, this was a station.

Just as Chen Nuo turned away, Brother Lei approached with a peculiar expression.

Chen Nuo smiled, "What’s up? Trouble?"

"They’re asking for five thousand in compensation."

Chen Nuo chuckled.

Five thousand was a ridiculous demand.

In Jinling City, a developed Yangtze River Delta city, an average white-collar worker earned a thousand a month.

Five thousand was practically extortionate.

Five thousand then equaled about thirty thousand in future terms.

Two punches to the face, at most soft tissue contusion.

What’s a soft tissue injury?

Let’s say you get up too quickly while eating, accidentally bump your leg on the table leaving a bruise — that’s a soft tissue contusion.

For that, they’re demanding five thousand?

Chen Nuo smiled, "Give it."

Brother Lei scratched his freshly shaved head, "I agree, just give it." He lowered his voice, "Later we’ll settle things our way.

The issue is, Luo Qing is stuck on this."

"What’s his problem?"

"He refuses to apologize."

Chen Nuo shook his head, "Now that’s interesting."

The usual process is "apology + compensation."

Apologizing is basic, the compensation amount depends on negotiation.

The issue is, Young Master Luo refused to apologize at all costs.

If there’s no apology, how do the police conclude the report?

Oh, the involved party won’t apologize but pays five thousand?

No closure statement goes like that!

The basic logic here is:

The one extorting you doesn’t care about apologies; they want money. Pay up, that’s it.

The police don’t concern themselves with compensation amounts — the money isn’t for the station.

The police care about apologies — it’s about attitude!

You hit someone, you’re at fault, you apologize as a basic courtesy.

Refusing to apologize means stubbornly resisting the police, putting them in a difficult position.

Chen Nuo noticed, during his chat with Brother Lei, the girl nearby seemed to hear something. Hearing Brother Lei mention Luo Qing’s name, she glanced over instinctively.

But perhaps fearing she misheard, she hesitated, looking conflicted.

Inspired, Chen Nuo stood and walked over to the girl.

"Hello," he said.

"Ah? Hel-hello," she stammered, anxious.

"We’re Luo Qing’s family," Chen Nuo’s words erased the fear from her face but made her appear even more nervous.

Besides nervousness, there seemed to be a hint of... guilt?

After introducing himself as "Luo Qing’s family," Chen Nuo purposefully paused, smiling quietly at the girl.

She swallowed, seemed slightly conflicted, but spoke with some determination, "I, I’m Ding Qian."

"Hello, Ding Qian," Chen Nuo greeted casually, continuing to wait for her to speak further.

He deliberately didn’t say much, just wanting to see how this girl would speak.

Ding Qian took a deep breath, facing Chen Nuo’s gaze, and slowly said, "Luo Qing... what he did is related to me, he got into conflict with those people because of me."

Chen Nuo’s expression didn’t change, he simply nodded and smiled, "Tell me in detail."

·

Next, this girl named Ding Qian roughly explained the situation to Chen Nuo. Both Chen Nuo and Brother Lei listened quietly, neither interrupted nor asked questions.

The general course of events was as follows:

In the afternoon, Luo Qing went to this company’s booth to submit his resume—the company only set up their booth in the afternoon.

Luo Qing and Ding Qian met at the booth of the unscrupulous company.

During the queue, Luo Qing and Ding Qian exchanged a few pleasantries, essentially just getting to know each other, what’s your name, what’s my name, where did you graduate, where are you from, etc...

Although Chen Nuo didn’t interrupt, he could judge internally.

It was probably Luo Qing himself who took the initiative to get close.

The girl seemed to be the shy type, so it must have been Luo Qing who made the first move.

But it was just an attempt to get close, only a few sentences.

Luo Qing wasn’t a playboy, nor did he have skills in flirting, his attempt was clumsy.

After asking for names and such, he didn’t know what else to say—not even asking for a phone number.

As for why Luo Qing made the attempt...

You could tell just by her looks.

She looked pretty, like a delicate flower, with a timid demeanor—a type many men fancy.

Then came the queue, submitting resumes, filling out forms.

Though this company was focused on scooping training fees, they put on a superficial interview nonetheless.

Luo Qing’s interview ended quickly.

After all, Young Master Luo had seen the world, immediately recognizing the scam for training fees, he stood up and left.

But this girl happened to be interviewed by the small boss of the company.

The guy who later got beaten up by Luo Qing.

This girl hadn’t seen much of the world, she was from out of town.

Coming from a small city to look for a job in Jinling City, her education was average.

Born and raised in a small place. After several fruitless days job searching in Jinling City.

Spent half of her money already, feeling a bit anxious.

In her anxiety, she fell into the trap of the unscrupulous company.

She could start immediately and had found a job immediately.

First, pay an eight hundred yuan training fee.

This girl named Ding Qian paid.

Moreover, the small boss of this company seemed to have a lustful intention, lingering for quite a while during Ding Qian’s interview.

Luo Qing finished his interview first, initially planning to wait for Ding Qian to come out to chat her up a bit, but she didn’t come out after a while, so he went to the neighboring company’s booth instead, trying his luck.

Luo Qing wandered around, unexpectedly found a job, and heard that the company was still hiring.

He returned to find Ding Qian and informed her.

Though the company wasn’t large, it was at least legitimate, unlike one that required training fees.

Ding Qian was tempted upon hearing this but informed Luo Qing that she had already paid an eight hundred yuan training fee at the previous company.

Luo Qing got anxious after hearing that and told Ding Qian it was a scam...

Then dragged Ding Qian to demand the scammers refund her money.

Would they refund it?

They were there to scam money—how could they spit out what they had swallowed?

Seeing Ding Qian was a little girl easy to bully, they refused to refund, suggesting she train at their company if willing.

If unwilling, she could go cool off somewhere else.

In addition, the small boss of this company probably had a filthy mouth.

Bullied Ding Qian, a pretty girl from out of town, speaking dirty and lewd words.

Luo Qing got furious!

Had a big argument with the scammers.

People who specifically engage in such scams have plenty of experience dealing with conflicts.

Various schemes to tangle things up, Luo Qing grew impatient and directly started a commotion.

If you don’t refund, I’ll expose your scam right in front of your booth.

You won’t be able to scam anyone else.

Seeing Luo Qing threatening their livelihood, they panicked.

So verbal disputes escalated to physical fights.

·

After listening, Chen Nuo looked at this girl named Ding Qian and slowly asked a question:

"So, since Luo Qing was standing up for you to demand the money back, which led to the fight. Why did the police only take Luo Qing away when they arrived, and why didn’t you follow them to the police station, but just came here now?"

This question was quite crucial.

If Luo Qing stood up for her, got into trouble, and she ran away.

Then, feeling guilty after the fact, she ran to the police station.

The nature of this would be different.

Ding Qian listened, a bit anxious: "It was the people from the job fair who reported to the police. When they arrived, they took both Luo Qing and the company’s people away. I didn’t get a chance to speak. I wanted to follow them.

But the police car had already left, I wanted to go to the police station, but as an out-of-towner, I didn’t know where the station was.

I asked for directions, but was misdirected."

The girl indeed was an out-of-towner unfamiliar with the area.

She asked people where the nearby police station was—generally, the instinct is that the nearby station should handle the incident, right?

It was a stroke of misfortune.

The closest police station to the job fair by distance lay in another street’s jurisdiction.

While the station responsible for the job fair’s area was slightly further.

Upon asking for directions, she was misled, running to the closest station, only discovering she was in the wrong place.

This logic isn’t hard to grasp.

Like living on the border, a hundred meters away is a foreign police station, while your country’s police station is ten kilometers away.

But when trouble arises, it’s up to your country’s police station to deal with it!

Ding Qian went in a big circle, arriving late when she finally found the right place.

Chen Nuo nodded after listening, his smile became much more sincere.

"Alright, we’re handling it already. If you’re willing, you can wait here for a while. Or leave your phone number with me, we’ll contact you if anything comes up, okay?"

That was the second level of testing.

Ding Qian shook her head after listening: "I won’t go, Luo Qing stood up for me then fought, I can’t leave now, I’ll wait until it’s settled. Moreover, if there’s compensation to pay, it shouldn’t be Luo Qing who pays, I... I have the money with me."

Chen Nuo’s smile grew even more sincere.

After thinking for a moment, he handed over the unopened bottle of water from Brother Lei.

"No rush, let’s wait first. Here, have some water."

Ding Qian didn’t take the water: "Should I talk to the police first, the reason behind things started with me, I must explain it to them."

Chen Nuo thought for a bit, nodded at Brother Lei: "You take her to talk with the case officer."

Brother Lei led Ding Qian inside to find the officer, a while later, he returned.

"Took her, the officer is taking her statement."

Brother Lei sat next to Chen Nuo, scratching his head: "No wonder Luo Qing wouldn’t budge."

"Men’s pride." Chen Nuo chuckled.

Easier to understand now why Luo Qing wouldn’t apologize.

He fancied this girl named Ding Qian.

Just imagine.

You fancy a girl, feel affection for her.

Then she’s bullied, even had obscene words said to her.

And you’re supposed to apologize to that person?

As a man, could you bear it?

Apologizing to the scumbag who bullied and taunted the girl you fancy?

Luo Qing wasn’t the pushover type, he’s a proper rich kid with influence.

There’s no way he would lower himself.

If not for Ding Qian’s existence, Luo Qing might have apologized.

After all, he had gotten into a fight, he didn’t lose out, and had vented his anger.

An apology is barely acceptable.

But teasing the girl I like, that’s not okay.

Apologize?

Consider yourself lucky if I don’t beat you up after we’re done here!

This isn’t a situation where you can just threaten the boss of that corrupt company and expect it to work.

They don’t want an apology; they want money.

Luo Qing isn’t apologizing; he’s confronting the police.

Chen Nuo thought for a moment and said to Brother Lei, "If it doesn’t work, just tell the police we won’t admit fault. They can fine or detain us; let Luo Qing learn a lesson."

Brother Lei stared in disbelief: "Huh?"

Chen Nuo grinned mischievously and glanced towards the police office: "The more Young Master Luo suffers, the more indebted she’ll feel."

Brother Lei knew Chen Nuo was joking and laughed: "Don’t, if Young Master Luo really gets detained, Luo Dachanzi and Boss Luo would rush over to beat Dali. After all, it was Dali who led him to the job."

After a pause, Brother Lei rubbed his chin: "I’ll go have a chat with Luo Qing."

Chen Nuo sat in his seat for nearly an hour before Brother Lei came out with the group.

Brother Lei, Dali, and Luo Qing all came out.

Following them was the girl named Ding Qian.

Behind them, the police were accompanying two people: one was the brother of the guy who got beaten, who had been seen outside the lobby, and the other was someone with a bruised face, easy to recognize.

The police came out, giving some advice at the door—mostly about controlling emotions and legal awareness.

Chen Nuo quietly waited on the side and only followed them out after everyone had left the lobby.

He patted Luo Qing’s shoulder: "Brother, playing hero to save beauty today?"

Luo Qing was a bit embarrassed, offering a dry laugh.

"How did you get out?" Chen Nuo asked Brother Lei.

Brother Lei grinned, pulling Chen Nuo aside to whisper: "I tricked Luo Qing. I told him, you won’t apologize, right? You’re holding onto your pride? But now, that girl is also involved in the case. If you don’t apologize, it won’t be resolved, and she’ll get dragged down with you.

Just say whether you’ll apologize or not!

And then the guy just caved in."

Chen Nuo laughed, squinting at Luo Qing.

Hmm, really fallen for her?

Luo Qing was awkwardly talking to Ding Qian.

Actually, the girl was quite unlucky today; she even got scammed out of 800 yuan.

She might seem a bit naive.

But her character seems decent; she didn’t intend to just walk away.

And she even offered to cover the compensation for the beating.

Though she probably doesn’t have much money, at least her attitude is right.

That’s already good enough.

Being inexperienced and a bit naive isn’t a problem.

Slowly gain more experience and insight.

People all go through a phase of naivety before getting wiser.

But character is what it is.

Character is hard to change, like the saying goes.

It’s shaped over time and isn’t fixed overnight.

Luo Qing was still there, clumsily talking with Ding Qian.

You could tell Ding Qian was also a bit awkward in her speech.

They both seemed a bit embarrassed.

Chen Nuo patted Luo Qing on the shoulder: "Let’s go, I bet you haven’t had dinner, let’s find a place to fill up first."

He casually glanced at Ding Qian: "You haven’t eaten either, right? Come along."

Ding Qian blushed, waving her hand: "No, no need, I’ll just head home first..."

"Come along," Chen Nuo said firmly: "After all, we went through this together. Luo Qing stood up for you and ended up at the police station. You’re friends now, right? At least have a meal together?

There’s also something we need to discuss."

Ding Qian nodded when she heard this: "Is it about the medical and compensation expenses? I’m willing to shoulder them."

"Let’s talk over dinner," Chen Nuo said, pulling Luo Qing along. Ding Qian followed behind.

To avoid having Dali ruin things with his sharp tongue, once they left the police station, Chen Nuo sent him home.

Dali didn’t actually want to leave.

He wanted to stay and gossip!

Chen Nuo just gave him a kick to get him going.

They walked a few hundred meters down the roadside and found a small restaurant, sitting down to order a few dishes.

"How did it get handled?" Chen Nuo asked Brother Lei.

"The medical expenses will be reimbursed as actuals; they’ll go to the hospital, and I’ll reimburse them with receipts. I left my phone number.

As for the compensation, 5,000 yuan, I paid on the spot. The receipt is with me. I also got verification from the police station. Both parties signed and fingerprinted."

Brother Lei laughed: "I bet the medical expenses won’t be cheap; that guy will probably get the most expensive comprehensive check-up and then get a bunch of medications. If he has any chronic issues, he’ll probably claim Luo Qing caused them."

Ding Qian turned pale upon hearing this.

5,000 yuan for compensation?

All the money she had, even counting change, added up to merely a thousand at most.

If she borrowed from hometown friends or classmates, she might scrape together three to five hundred.

That’s still far from enough.

Plus, there’s the unknown medical costs.

Seeing Ding Qian’s anxious look, Chen Nuo smiled: "Ding Qian, let me be straight with you, you don’t have to cover this money. Furthermore, anything else that follows isn’t your concern. Got it?"

"This doesn’t seem right." Ding Qian’s voice trembled, though her tone was firm.

The trembling was due to her inability to cover the cost; the firmness was because her character wouldn’t allow her to ignore it.

Luo Qing wasn’t completely clueless—he wasn’t dumb to begin with.

He coughed awkwardly, "You really don’t need to worry. Actually... my family is quite well-off. I can cover this."

"You may have money, but this isn’t for you to pay," Ding Qian shook her head.

Luo Qing’s eyes were a bit intense, ready to say more before Chen Nuo kicked him under the table.

"Let me make a fair statement," Chen Nuo cleared his throat, speaking up.

Luo Qing kept quiet.

He knew Chen Nuo’s judgment was sure to be right.

"This situation indeed started because of Ding Qian, Luo Qing stood up for you, so however you look at it, you should bear some responsibility, right?"

Luo Qing, signaled by Chen Nuo’s gaze, didn’t dare speak. Ding Qian nodded: "Right from the start, I..."

"Hear me out.

But in this matter, Luo Qing also bears substantial responsibility.

Standing up for someone—does that really mean you have to fight?

Did you not learn civility and morality?

Don’t know what good manners mean?

A gentleman uses words, not fists—don’t you know?

You stood up for someone, with good intentions, but does it really mean you have to fight?

This is a law-abiding society!

Couldn’t you report it to the police? Notify their company? Pursue legal channels?

Ahem... my point is, fighting is the wrong approach.

Does standing up for someone mean any means necessary, including fighting? Even killing?

So, Luo Qing, you intended well but approached it poorly.

You’ll need to take on some of the responsibility too."

Chen Nuo looked at both of them: "No objections. This is how I’m settling it!"

Luo Qing bit his lip and stayed silent.

Ding Qian was puzzled.

This chubby guy... who is he?

The way he talks, like he’s Luo Qing’s father.

And he doesn’t look that old—a peer at most.

Yet Luo Qing behaves like he’s submissive to him.

Even that big bald guy on the side nods in agreement with him.

Chen Nuo didn’t care about her thoughts and continued: "So, here’s my take.

The 5,000 for compensation, plus future medical expenses—though not yet finalized, I anticipate they’ll push for more, surely at least a thousand. Let’s assume a thousand."

So in total, it’s six thousand yuan.

This way, Luo Qing, you take half, three thousand.

Ding Qian, you take three thousand.

Is that okay?"

Luo Qing glared, just about to speak, when Chen Nuo stepped on his foot again.

Ding Qian hesitated, whispering, "I... It seems I’m taking advantage here. Logically, this money..."

"Just three thousand, we are reasonable people." Chen Nuo shook his head.

Ding Qian looked somewhat grateful, thought for a moment, and nodded: "Okay, three thousand.

But... I don’t have that much money right now. I still have some on me, I can first... first give you eight hundred, is that okay?

The rest, give me a little time to gather the money, I can write you an IOU first."

Chen Nuo waved his hand, "No rush, let me tell you something else first."

He pointed to his nose, "Let me reintroduce myself, I’m Luo Qing’s brother."

"Biological brother?" Ding Qian widened her eyes, thinking: They don’t look alike.

"Blood brothers from different parents." Chen Nuo laughed.

Alright, that’s clear now.

Just good friends, the kind that’s like family.

"Aren’t you looking for a job? How about this, Brother Lei, I heard your store on Daming Road is hiring sales assistants?"

Brother Lei’s eyes twinkled, "Yes! Business is good now, especially lacking staff!"

"What about the pay?"

Brother Lei replied without hesitation, "Six hundred a month as the base salary. Then for each bike sold, there’s a commission. Generally, you can make around a thousand a month."

Chen Nuo looked at Ding Qian, "Interested in this job? Borrowing money and all that, you have to burn through favors, better to work at Brother Lei’s store, since you’re looking for a job anyway. The money owed can be deducted from your salary later."

Ding Qian’s face lit up with an expression of joy, "Really, really?!"

Brother Lei smiled, "If you think it’s okay, you can report to work tomorrow. It’s a legitimate company, a chain store selling electric bikes."

Ding Qian widened her eyes at Brother Lei, her expression clearly frozen by the huge surprise.

The meal was very simple, and after discussing the matter, led by Chen Nuo, they quickly finished the food.

It’s not good to drag it out too long.

After all, she’s a single young girl sitting at a table with three men, she’s bound to feel defensive and nervous.

No need to make it last too long.

Anyway... she’ll be going to work at the store tomorrow, won’t she?

After the meal, Brother Lei gave Ding Qian a phone number and an address, telling her to report to the chain store on Daming Road tomorrow.

The number left was Xia Xia’s.

When he got home that night, Brother Lei would naturally explain things to Xia Xia.

With Xia Xia’s master-level skills in being a green tea master, she’s truly sharp!

Guarantee she’ll handle things beautifully and seamlessly.

Ding Qian refused Luo Qing’s offer to see her home because her bike was still parked at the police station entrance.

It was clear she wasn’t unwilling to let Luo Qing see her home—after experiencing such an incident, it’s not like Ding Qian would just fall for Luo Qing instantly.

But she did have some good feelings.

Unfortunately, the girl came by bike.

How could Luo Qing give her a lift without a bike of his own?

The first day taking her home, making her sit on the back of a bike, isn’t that too fast-paced?

After watching Ding Qian leave, Chen Nuo kicked Luo Qing.

"Don’t watch, she’ll be at the Daming Road store from now on, don’t you know the way to the shop?

You’ll have time to win her over slowly, no need to rush today."

Luo Qing beamed with joy, looking at Chen Nuo, laughing, "You’re my real brother!"

Then his smile turned a bit pleading, "Chen Nuo, what should I do next?"

Chen Nuo widened his eyes, "What? Do you want me to knock her out and deliver her to your house? Do you need me to handhold you in wooing a girl?

You should just visit the store from time to time, get closer to the girl.

If there’s a chance or not, invite her for a meal or something, step by step to close the gap—do I need to teach you this?

But remember, you can be a bit warm and take the initiative, but don’t grovel!

Resist your urge to be a sycophant!

Even if she’s a good-natured girl, dealing with a sycophant for long enough, she would become conceited!"

Luo Qing nodded seriously, then showed anger on his face, "How should we deal with those two bastards? Should I... go home and talk to my dad?"

"If you’re not afraid of scaring away this girl named Ding Qian, you should tell your dad.

You know your dad’s style, he might just break their legs if he goes over.

This girl seems quite decent, what if she gets scared off?"

Luo Qing frowned, "We can’t just let it go."

"Handle things more gently, not always resorting to violence, evildoers should be dealt with gradually."

Brother Lei grinned, "I know this stuff well!"

Luo Qing sought Brother Lei’s advice, and Brother Lei smiled, "Five thousand yuan, plus medical expenses. Let’s target the six thousand yuan KPI and play him slowly."

"How... how to play him?"

"Does he have a bike? Then from tomorrow, his bike should get stolen every day.

If he drives a car, then from tomorrow, he should find a deflation triangle on the tires every day, maybe the car window will break too.

Doesn’t he own a company? From tomorrow, the front door lock should get picked every day. Of course, nothing gets stolen, things are left untouched, but having the lock picked every day, could you stand it?

If he has a house, every night someone would throw bricks through his windows.

If he happens to be lecherous, that’ll be easier.

Bro, you must’ve heard of that trap, right?

The scene of calling a scammer to stage an adulterous act, have you heard of it?

Involving him in familial disputes right on the spot, have you heard of it?"

Brother Lei snickered, saying all this, and then glanced at Luo Qing, "Can anyone withstand such a series of actions?"

Luo Qing’s eyes lit up, "Damn! Brother Lei, you’re truly something! Hang on, you’re so skilled, you must have helped someone with this before, right?"

Brother Lei glanced at Chen Nuo.

Luo Qing was immediately filled with admiration.

My buddy here, he’s really devious!

Luo Qing, being someone who knew how to handle things well, thought for a moment and then said to Brother Lei, "Brother Lei, let’s do as you said! Get that package lined up for those two bastards without missing a beat!

Brother Lei, I get it, you’re surely assigning subordinates for this. I can’t let you foot the bill.

Tomorrow, I’ll transfer twenty thousand to your account, just consider it as me treating the guys to drinks, a little tip for the trouble!"

[Updated 125,000 words in three days, not aiming to gain your forgiveness.

Why say this, not aiming to ask for forgiveness, because I owe too much on this matter.

It’s like someone owes another money for a long time without repaying, paying back is the right thing, apologizing is right too.

Paying debts is a natural principle.

Doing poorly, being scolded or criticized, is rightful.

Since it’s rightful, forgiveness isn’t a must, nor is it whether to forgive or not.

I get it, in this world, saying sorry doesn’t guarantee the other person will say it’s okay.

So, scolding as deserved is still permitted, I accept.

This book had a long hiatus, the reason being the relationship between Lu Xixi and Sun Keke has always been unclear to me (I really didn’t want to write both getting rewarded, it was just very contrary). Then there’s the logical paradox between Seed and Mother, as well as the life-and-death paradox between Seed and Chosen One, I couldn’t find a breakthrough... and so on, a series of problems.

I truly couldn’t write before, it’s my lack of ability to create stories, I dug myself into many narrative holes and conflicting logics.

Capable of causing trouble, but not capable of resolving it, that says it all about me.

To put it bluntly, it’s my insufficient storytelling skills.

So I racked my brain, then self-abandoned for a period.

Now I’ve mostly figured it out, or rather, not entirely figured out but stopped overthinking, got over it, and stopped wrestling with my own brain.

There are about 300,000 to 500,000 words left.

If you want to continue reading, I thank you, if not, it’s my own doing, even cursing before leaving, that’s what I deserve.

So be it.

Once again, bowing and apologizing.

The update burst is over, but will continue to update tomorrow.]
