the vanguard, The Immortal of Colossal Spirit, was defeated, Prince Nezha injured his arm, both unable to cope with the Stone Monkey.

Repelling the Heavenly Soldiers, the Stone Monkey was overjoyed.

He called friends and allies, summoning eight brothers, self-proclaiming as the Great Sage Equalling Heaven. His brothers also adopted the title of Great Saint.

Who were they?

They were none other than—

The Great Sage Who Pacifies Heaven, Bull Demon King.

The Sea Recovery Saint, Jiao Demon King.

The Great Sage, Peng Demon King.

The Moving Mountain Great Saint, Lion Camel King.

Gold Star Taibai spoke up with advice: "That demon monkey only blusters without awareness of his own insignificance. Adding troops to challenge him may not result in his quick capitulation but lead to further strain. Perhaps Your Majesty could show magnanimity and still send a decree of peace, bestowing upon him the title of Great Sage Equalling Heaven. Just provide him an empty title, a position without salary, and let him roam between heaven and earth, curbing his wicked heart, preventing arrogance, hence securing the peace of the cosmos and tranquil seas."

What does 'a position without salary' mean?

It means bearing the title of Great Sage Equalling Heaven, but without any real responsibilities or salary, raised between heaven and earth to temper his malicious ambitions, ensuring the tranquility of the universe.

The Jade Emperor consented.

Thus, the Changgeng Star Lord made a second visit to Huaguo Mountain, requesting the Great Saint's presence in heaven for conferral of the title "Great Sage Equalling Heaven." In the Immortal Peach Orchard, to the right, a grand residence was erected—the Great Saint Mansion, with two offices: one for Serenity and one for Peace of Mind, both staffed with Immortal Officers to aid and support.

Free from obligations, he lived at ease. Socializing and forming alliances in leisure, today he'd roam east, tomorrow swagger west, coming and going on clouds, his whereabouts erratic.

Some immortals looked on with envy and discomfort, which led to suggestions, and the Jade Emperor assigned the Great Sage to oversee the Immortal Peach Orchard.

Delighted, the Great Saint gave thanks; he couldn't wait and promptly inspected the orchard.

Within the Immortal Peach Orchard,

after dismissing the local deities and shooing away the maintenance and caretaker powerful warriors, Wukong's eyebrows hung upside down in anger—his eyes full of Evil Qi, almost ravenous.
