Finally finished writing!!!!!!

As I typed the last three characters “End of main text”, my heart was pounding uncontrollably.

Then came the hard-to-put-in-words feeling of reluctance.

From when I wrote the first word of this book until now, the characters of Sheng Mumu, Old Qi, Little Qi have been slowly shaped as the story progressed.

I always feel that they seem to really exist, just living in a different space-time from me.

Choosing the “gaokao (college entrance exam)” node as the ending point for the whole story was a decision I made early on.

When Little Qi enters the exam hall, it draws the ending mark of a story.

When he comes out of the exam hall, another story is about to start.

That would be a story they orchestrate themselves in another space-time.

Alright, since I’ll still be writing extra chapters, I won’t ramble on too much.

For a period of time afterwards, extra chapters will be dropped irregularly. I hope I can achieve the small goal of reaching 500,000 words.

Some plot points I’m planning to include in the extra chapters are:

Why Qi likes eating malt candy

It rained a stream-of-consciousness in Beijing again

Wedding

The return of Sheng Mumu’s diary

Sheng Mumu’s perspective of the Qi Shaobai-Chi Xia storyline, and her mother-in-law identity getting exposed

That’s all I can think of for now. I’ll add more in if I get any sudden inspirations afterwards.

[Some issues readers have been concerned about]

1. Does Qi Shaobai know he’s not a biological child?

A: I don’t plan to specifically write about it, leaving space for imagination (definitely not because I don’t know how to write it, *cough cough*) You can understand that Old Qi treats Qi Shaobai completely as his own child when raising him, and the two have a tacit understanding that there is no need to specifically explain this issue. Or you can also understand that when Qi Shaobai grows up, he discovers his birth origins in the book he stars in, but by then it’s no longer important because the regrets of his childhood have been healed. Whether he knows his origins or not won’t affect the relationship between their family of three.

2. Will you write about Sheng Mumu having a baby?

A: I will, I didn’t want to speed up the storyline too quickly in the main text so I plan to put it in the extras. But I won’t write it too soon, it’ll probably be placed at the very end.

Little spoiler—Since there’s already little Qi, Sheng Mumu and Old Qi both want a daughter.

3. Why did the transmigration happen? Where did the original owner go?

A: In order for Sheng Mumu to have a god’s eye view, transmigration is a more common and lazy setup. I won’t delve into the full scientific principles behind transmigration (mainly because I can’t come up with it anyway), just take it as a fantastical journey alright? What can be confirmed is, Sheng Mumu will definitely spend her lifetime here with Old Qi.

So where did the original owner go?

My original thought was, parallel worlds. When Sheng Mumu transmigrated into the book world, the original owner of the book world transmigrated in reverse into the real world, became healed by the parents and friends of real-world Sheng Mumu, started another phase of life, fulfilling Sheng Mumu’s wish of taking care of her parents, and met the right person eventually.

But I worry that because they’re both “Sheng Mumu” stories there would be confusion. I haven’t decided if I want to write it as an extra special chapter yet, depends on inspiration and state.
