Chapter 1561 Surprise

In the afternoon, inside the wedding suite of a recently married couple, Lu Lian was in the midst of getting ready. She turned to the man already dressed in a sharp suit and inquired, "Could you please tell me where we're headed?"

Ming Rusheng met her curious gaze with a mysterious smile as he picked up his phone from the table. "You'll find out soon enough once we get there."

"Then quit with the questions and come with me," he helped her with her dress, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Or I can think of more interesting uses for that lovely mouth of yours."

She playfully shrugged his hands away. "Don't be such a pervert at this hour," she teased, then went to the mirror to give herself one last check. "Otherwise, don't blame me if I decide not to join you."

He grinned and held her hand firmly. "I'll hold you to that for later," he replied, leading her towards the door. "But for now, let's go."

She protested as he dragged her away, saying, "Let me fix my hair!"

"You look perfect just the way you are," he complimented, not breaking his stride.

After a half-hour car ride, they arrived in the newly developed part of the city. She questioned, "Why are we here? I thought we were heading to the airport for our surprise honeymoon destination."

"I don't repeat what others have already done," he commented, focussed on driving, "I have a better surprise for you."

A hint of a frown appeared on her face as she said, "I will be the one to decide if it's special not."

As they continued to journey through the wide streets, lined with some of the most opulent residences in the city, each resembling a mini-palace meant exclusively for the wealthiest elite, Lu Lian couldn't help but comment, "Have you purchased one of these residenced for me? Just so you know, I won't be all that impressed."

Ming Rusheng remained silent, his eyes focused on the road as they passed by rows of these extravagant homes. He kept driving further up the hillside.

"Isn't there the end?" she inquired, puzzled.

He shook his head gently. "It's the start only."

Puzzled she continued to look ahead, "Just don't drive both of us off the clif. If your surprise involves both of us dying together so our souls uniting for eternity, then let me tell you, I am not into that kind of shit. I value my life more than dramatically ending it with you."

This brought the pleasant smile on his lips as he almost suppressed his laugh. "Instead of killing you just once like this, I will prefer you to die under me every single night."

A blush crept onto Lu Lian's face at his bold words, but she hid it well. She turned her head away, gazing out the window, and mumbled, "You're such a pervert."

The car came to a stop in front of a massive gate, the road leading directly to it. Lu Lian stared in puzzlement at the imposing gate, which opened as they arrived, two security guards bowing and allowing them to drive through.

After a long journey through a road surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking beauty, the car finally halted in a secluded spot.

Ming Rusheng stepped out of the vehicle and extended a hand to help Lu Lian out. She started to say, "I told you, if you've just bought an expensive residence for us, then..." but her words trailed off as Ming Rusheng gently turned her around to face something ahead.

Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of a beautiful majestic residence ahead. "I knew it is just some fancy residence...Oh... wait." She paused, her gaze fixed on the structure. "Why does it seem so familiar?"

Ming Rusheng wore a knowing smile, acknowledging that she had caught on. "Perhaps."

Her eyes widened further, and she turned to look at him. "This... the one you were sketching. You mentioned it was a gift for someone."

"You have quite the memory."

"At that time, you were pretending to have lost your memory, so I didn't take it seriously. So, is that 'someone' you mentioned... me?"

He met her gaze with sincerity. "Could I even dare to have anyone else?"

"You better not dare, or I'll make this residence fall on your head again, and you'll lose your memory forever," she playfully warned.

He pulled her close and embraced her gently, confessing, "It was always meant for you from the very beginning."

She pulled back slightly to look into his eyes, a hint of curiosity in her gaze. "But we were broken up back then. Why were you still drawing it?"

"Because I knew you would come back to me," he replied with confidence.

Her curiosity deepened, and she inquired, "When I saw you drawing it, it seemed like you'd been at it for a while. Since when did you start?"

"From the day you began working at Ming Industries," he replied calmly, but the revelation left her utterly shocked. "What? Weren't we constantly at each other's throats, always arguing? I even thought you didn't want me working at your company."

A soft smile played on his lips as he confessed, "I didn't want to miss the thrill of our fights. That fierce, independent you was the one who stole my heart."

She wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her body close to his, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Tell me, exactly when did you fall in love with me?"

"Ten years ago, on the day you came to my office to return my jacket and wallet," he replied, his eyes locked onto hers, radiating warmth and love.

"Return your jacket?" She mumbled, memories from a decade ago flooding back. She recalled the day when she had visited his office for the first time to thank him for saving her at the night club from the drunk guy and to return his jacket which he offered her to cover herself as that drunk guy had tore her dress. But in exchange, this man was rude with her and talked bad about the women of her family, making her lose her temper and give him a peace of her mind.

A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she said, "And surprisingly, that was the same day I thought you were the person I despised the most. Afterward, whenever our paths crossed, it felt like I loathed not only you but even your shadow and very existence." Her smile turning sweet as she reminisced about the past. "Now I feel like I cannot love you enough. I love you, I really do and I cannot even expresses the depth of it."

"Let me express it then," he said and leaned into seal her lips with his. The next moment she found herself lifted in his arms, taking her by surprise, "Rusheng, what are you doing..." "Going to let you know the depth of my love," he replied, giving her a meaningful gaze.

"You pervert," she scolded playfully. "Let me at least see our new home. Isn't this the place you built for me?"

"You'll have plenty of time for that after we take care of some intimate business in our new home," he continued to carry her despite her attempts to resist, coming up with various excuses.

"Until you are on your periods, no excuses are acceptable," he warned her and carried her inside. "Where do you want it first? On sofa in the drawing room or comfortable bed in our bedroom."

"I don't know," her angry voice echoed in the drawing room. "You scoundrel."

"Scoundrel? Hmm, Let's start from the sofa then."

After a long time when she got the time to breathe, her body slumped up into the bed, scooped in his arms under the sheets, he spoke, "I was thinking to invite everyone here so after that we can leave for our honeymoon."

"Everyone?"

"Your brothers, our friends and we can have a small get together here."

She immediately lifted her head as if her lost energy was back all of a sudden. "That's a lovely thought. We are not together since we were in England. I miss that fun. Let's do it tomorrow. I will invite Nicky so she and brother Yang can have some time together again. I will ask brother Feng to stay for a day more."

As if he knew this is what his wife wanted and smiled, nodding to what she suggested. "It would be fun," she looked like excited bunny.

"Seems like you have regained your energy," he pinned her under him, "Let's go for another one."

Even before she could resist, her mouth was already shut.
