Chapter 1563 Back To Work

The following morning, the Wang family prepared to depart from the Lu mansion and return to their own city.

"Mother, father, please take good care of your health," Lu Zhilan affectionately expressed to the elderly couple. "I'll make an effort to visit as frequently as possible."

Wang Pend chimed in, suggesting, "Why don't you consider inviting Grandpa and Grandma to our home instead? Lu Feng is in the same city, and they can spend quality time with all of us." He turned to Lu Feng, inquiring, "What do you think?"

Lu Feng readily agreed, saying, "It's a good suggestion."

Elder Lu pondered for a moment before responding to his daughter, "I'll have to think about it. Traveling can be quite a hassle for your mother."

Lu Feng added, "We have access to a private jet, so we can make the journey comfortable for grandma."

Elder Lu couldn't help but tease his grandson, giving him a mischievous look. "Well then, if you insist. I was also considering visiting your home to check if you're hiding a woman there. I can't believe my grandson has remained celibate for so long."

Everyone turned their attention to Lu Feng, awaiting his response. He remained unfazed and replied, "Let me know when the two of you wish to visit."

Lu Bao, the talkative sister, interjected, "Grandpa, don't inform him in advance; instead, make it a surprise visit. Who knows, he might hide the woman somewhere before you arrive."

Lu Feng shot his sister a cold look and remarked, "When are you leaving?"

Feigning surprise, she complained, "Grandpa, he wants me to leave?"

Elder Lu intervened, saying, "No one can ask you to leave. He can leave if he wants to." He then glared at his grandson, "He's already in his mid-thirties and still hasn't brought a woman home. Sometimes, I wonder if he's really my grandson."

As usual, Lu Feng paid no attention to his grandfather's jests.

"Will you come to our home with great-grandpa and grandma, Aunt Yuyu?" Weiwei asked.

"Yes, I will," she replied in a soft voice.

"Weiwei, it's time for us to leave," his mother reminded him.

"Aunt Yuyu, I want a hug?" he requested, raising his tiny hands.

Jiang Yuyan knelt down on one knee and embraced the boy, who felt as soft as a little bunny. When he released her, Weiwei pecked on her lips, momentarily creating a chill in the air. Lu Lijun couldn't help but feel the urge to pick up this little guy and throw him out of the mansion's gates.

"Aunt Yuyu, your lips are so soft. Now I understand why Uncle Lijun likes to kiss you on the lips," the young boy quipped, eliciting laughter from everyone present.

Jiang Yuyan awkwardly patted his head, attempting to ease the awkward moment. "See you soon, Weiwei."

As she stood up, Lu Lijun caught her attention and gently wiped her lips with his thumb.

"What are you doing?" She tried to brush his hand away.

"I'm just making sure they're clean so I can kiss you later," he replied, completely unconcerned about their family members' presence.

He had always done what he felt was right, and when it came to Jiang Yuyan, everyone else seemed invisible to him.

"This little one is more daring than any of the men in our family," Elder Lu chuckled softly, glancing at Lu Feng. "Learn from your brothers. One is becoming a father, and the other has already found a partner. You're bringing shame to the family name."

Lu Feng sighed and addressed Aunt Zhilan, "I'll see you when I return to the city. I have something important to attend to."

"Are you deliberately ignoring me, you rascal?" Elder Lu grumbled.

"Do I have any other choice, grandpa?" Lu Feng replied, his voice maintaining a calm and composed tone. "Please, try to stay calm, or your blood pressure might skyrocket."

"This is what you want, isn't it? But mark my words, I won't die until I see a wife standing by your side and a child in your arms," the elder declared firmly.

"Good to know. That way, we won't have to worry about you," Lu Feng responded. "I'll take my leave then."

The stubborn old man frowned, but grandma soothingly patted his hand. "Let him be and focus on welcoming your grandchild in the coming months."

Meanwhile, the Wang family departed, and Lu Lijun headed to the Lu Corporation with Jiang Yuyan. He had kept her away from work for quite some time, but she was now determined to resume her duties.

It was time to make Lu Lijun the president of this company and she could not leave anything undone that could be reason to hinder his path. In the office, Xiao Min warmly greeted Jiang Yuyan, "It's great to see you back, boss."

Jiang Yuyan settled into her chair and remarked, "It doesn't sound like you're too thrilled. You must have enjoyed your days without me bothering you."

Xiao Min chuckled and handed her a file, saying, "I actually look forward to being 'troubled' by you now."

"What's on my schedule for today?" she inquired.

He replied, "There's just one meeting, and not much else." Xiao Min proceeded to provide her with the details of the upcoming meeting.

Jiang Yuyan passed him a displeased glare, "Is the entire Lu Corporation slacking off, leaving no work for their president? Or has everyone suddenly become overly efficient to spare me the trouble of working?" "Fourth young master is handling everything, so..." Xiao Min began.

"He hasn't even become president yet, and you're all already ignoring me?" she interrupted Xiao Min, her words cold. "Are you all that eager to get rid of me?"

Xiao Min felt a sense of impending trouble after having enjoyed a peaceful period during her absence. He could not help but think, 'It seems that even falling in love all over again hasn't softened this tigress.'

"Provide me with information on everything that's happening and detailed reports on each matter," she ordered, her tone icy. "If Lu Lijun tries to stop you, remind him that he's not the president yet."

"Yes, boss," Xiao Min replied, bowing as he left, feeling the tension in the air. It appeared that what they had been trying to keep from her was about to be unveiled.
