Chapter 1575 Drowned

Noah was taken aback by the revelation. Jake had been hiding it well for years. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want to risk ruining our friendship," Jake explained. "And it didn't feel like the right time to burden you with my feelings."

"Your feelings?" Noah scoffed. "What about mine?" freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Noah, back then, we were focused on our studies and your career aspirations," Jake continued. "I didn't want to add any unnecessary complications to your life. And if I had confessed, I would have expected more from you, which wouldn't have been fair. I told you, there's something wrong with me when it comes to you. All I did was try to protect you and wait for you to have the life you wanted before burdening you with my feelings."

Noah couldn't help but chuckle bitterly. "So many noble thoughts about my well-being, huh?"

"I know none of this might make sense to you, but I did what I felt was right at the time, and now I'm doing what feels right in this moment," Jake asserted firmly.

"And what so you feel right at this moment, Your Highness?" Noah's tone dripped with sarcasm.

Jake's expression hardened. "Do you really want to know?"

Noah offered him a mocking smirk. "I'm eager to hear what noble thoughts you have for me now, so I can live a better life."

Ignoring Noah's taunts, Jake leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper in Noah's ear. "Right now, I want to fuck you so hard that you won't ever think about leaving me, Noah."

Noah froze, his heart racing as he swallowed hard.

"Want to give it a try?" Jake asked, his gaze intense as he locked eyes with Noah.

Noah regained his composure and pushed Jake away coldly. "Dream on."

"I dream about it every night," Jake admitted, moving closer once more. "Didn't you enjoy how I touched you last time and made you come? Did you ever feel that same passion with any of those girls you've been with?"

"That's none of your business," Noah retorted, his voice tinged with irritation.

"This is my business, our business, Noah," Jake countered defiantly. "And I'm not going to stop. You can wish for me to stop, but only when I'm dead."

Noah clenched his teeth. "Then go die," he spat, pushing Jake aside. Noah climbed out of the pool, his clothes drenched with water.

"As you wish," he heard Jake say. Turning back, Noah saw Jake's face submerged underwater, his eyes closed.

"Stop pretending and come out," Noah called out, walking away. But before leaving, he glanced back one last time, only to find Jake still motionless underwater. "What the hell is he doing?" he muttered, returning to the pool's edge.

Seeing Jake still underwater, Noah felt a surge of panic. "Are you trying to kill yourself for real?" he demanded, his annoyance giving way to concern.

With no response from Jake, Noah quickly jumped back into the pool, hurrying to pull him out of the water. Fear gripping his heart, he laid Jake on the pool's edge and began hitting his chest. "Asshole, stop pretending," he pleaded desperately.

Receiving no response, Noah checked for Jake's breath, feeling a pang of panic as it seemed nonexistent. Without hesitation, he began performing CPR. After what felt like an eternity, Jake coughed up water and began breathing heavily, as if he'd been deprived of air for far too long.

Noah's face flushed red with anger. "You damn bastard, how dare you!" he exclaimed, landing a harsh blow on Jake's cheek, his eyes brimming with tears.

"It... hurts..." Jake managed to choke out, wincing from the pain in his chest.

Noah halted, his grip tightening on Jake's collar. "Do you want to die, you fucking idiot?" he seethed.

Shaking his head weakly, Jake replied, "I can't afford to die when I haven't loved you the way I should."

"Then what was that?" Noah demanded, still clutching Jake's collar tightly, feeling enraged.

"I knew you wouldn't let me die," Jake answered, his gaze meeting Noah's, seeing the hurt in his eyes.

"What if I had been too late? You asshole. I'm going to fucking kill you," Noah threatened, his voice laced with frustration and fear.

Jake chuckled weakly. "Then why did you save me?" he questioned, attempting to sit up. But Noah pushed him back down and kissed him fiercely, taking Jake by surprise, a bittersweet revelation amidst the chaos.

Though Jake was suffocated due to drowning, Noah said no mercy while kissing him. The two tall bodies engaged in passionate kissing while lying on the cold floor of the swimming pool, the sensation of cold could barely reach their bodies. Panting heavily, when Noah finally let him go, and looked into his eyes, "If next time you try such a stunt, I swear, I will fucking drown you in water myself."

Jake chuckled even between those heavy pants, trying to suppress his laughter. Noah glared at him. Despite being wet and almost drown, he could not deny Jake looked really handsome while laughing like this. It was intoxicating handsomeness that was worth looking at. But every time Noah had to convince himself to think about Jake as his friend only and not to harbour any other thoughts, or at least never show it on his face and in his eyes. "What are you laughing about?" Jake growled, "Do you think I am joking?"

Jake shook his head, controlling his laughter, "If I had known drowning myself would work and bring you back to me, I would have done it long back. I shall trully thank brother Feng this time."

"Bastard," Noah felt like using every curse word in the existence for this guy. Frowning he stood up, "You can go to hell."

"I will but I will make sure to take you with me," Jake countered, "Even if it's hell, we will suffer together."

"Stop talking already," Noah interrupted him, "Let's change clothes or we will catch cold."

Jake stood up as Noah extended his hand to help him. "We might have to borrow Brother Rusheng's clothes," Noah commented. "Before that you should be ready to hear some nasty comments from them seeing us like this," Jake added as they continued to walk to go downstairs. "Whose fault it is?" Noah frowned, knowing true annoyance was going to come their way. "Brother Feng. He was the one to suggest it," Jake answered shamelessly.
