Chapter 1577: Lu Feng's Harsh Words

"I am sorry," Ming Lan said, her eyes filled with guilt.

Wen Zac looked back at her and understood he made her feel bad. "No, it's not your fault," he hugged her, "I was just...regretting that so many years were wasted as we both didn't know what had happened."

"I don't know what to say either," she mumbled.

"It's alright. We are together in the end, and that's what matters," he said and tried to coax her.

"Brother Wen, if you loved her this much, why didn't you try again?" Lu Lian asked.

"If you had confessed to someone for the first time in your life and they just walked over after listening and not even bothering to recognise your confession, would you dare do it again?" he asked, "If she had said no, I would have tried to convince her again but...she even left the country the next day for her work. I could only keep quiet. I even asked Rusheng if she said something to him, but she didn't," he looked back at Ming Lan, "Seems like it was all a misunderstanding or whatever, I don't know what to say."

"Let's blame it on those earphones I was using," Ming Lan said, trying to make him feel better.

"Yeah, those were at fault, and even the one who had invented them. I might kick their asses for that," Wen Zac spoke, making her laugh a little. "Know that it has always been you, and I still love you the same, or maybe even more."

"I love you, too. Thank you for asking me to marry you despite my unintentional rejection that hurt you."

"Alright, long-lost lovebirds, I have a question," An Tian spoke, bringing them back to reality.

"What is it?" Wen Zac asked.

"Not for you, Mister Zac. It's for your lovely wife," An Tian said, looking at her, "So, Mrs. Ming, if you had heard his confession at that time, what would you have done?"

"Great, brother Tian," Lu Lian cheered, "I wanted to ask the same."

"I got your secret message through telepathy already," he offered her a playful smirk.

"You are the best," Lu Lian cheered, only to be pulled back by Ming Rusheng. "I am still next to you."

Lu Lian cleared her throat awkwardly. "Just a little praise won't hurt, right?"

"Stay away from him. He already has a girl in his closet," Ming Rusheng warned. "Praise him once more and you will find his body in one of his own closets."

Lu Lian sank back and immediately diverted everyone's attention. "Lanlan, answer fast."

Wen Zac also looked at his wife, waiting to hear her response.

"Umm, I would be honest," she began and looked at Wen Zac. "I would have been surprised and would have asked you to let me think about it. Then I would have talked to my brother about his opinion and would have decided on dating you first. Marriage would not have been in the immediate picture as I was more focused on my work, but if dating you had gone well, then I would have discussed marriage with you, with the condition of being able to continue my work even after marriage."

"And I would have definitely said yes to anything you would have said. I was...in fact, I am still madly in love with you," Wen Zac spoke happily, relieved that she didn't say she would have rejected him. "Thank you for coming back into my life," and he hugged her tightly, as if squeezing out her breath.

"Take it easy, man, my sister is suffocating," Ming Rusheng said coolly.

Wen Zac let her go and observed her red face. "Did I..."

"I am fine," she said with an assuring gaze.

"So this was the mystery all along, which happened for nothing and just because of a pair of damn earphones?" Jiang Yang chuckled. "This is the strangest story I've heard."

Everyone laughed at it but at the same time felt happy for the couple.

"Where is Jake and Noah?" Lu Lian asked, being and attentive host, "They are absent for quite a long time now?"

"Must be around, rolling somewhere in the grass," Jiang Yang commented, they love to roll around in mud when they visit someone new home."

"Really?" Lu Lian laughed.

"When we visited An Tian's home, it happened," Jiang Yang added, "You better keep two sets of clothes ready for them as the lovely host you are."

"Sure."

"Let's go inside, it's getting colder," Ming Rushing suggested and everyone agreed to it.

Just as everyone stepped inside the drawing room, the two tall figures came in their sights, drenched in water head to toe.

"See, what did I say?" Jiang Yang spoke.

Lu Lian chuckled while An Tian commented at the two, "Seems like you two preferred to take Lu Feng's words seriously and drowned yourself to clear your rusty brains."

"Can you be ever wrong about anything, brother?" Jake spoke and looked at Lu Lian, "Sister Lian..."

"I get it," she spoke, "Go the guest room over there. I will send clothes for you."

The two agreed and trend to leave but heard Lu Feng, "You two better make up this time. No one is going to build another new home for you to have another brawl to clear your useless brains."

Everyone looked at Lu Feng. He would usually say harsh words but today since the start he didn't leave a single chance to roughen up these two. That means Lu Feng was seriously

annoyed.

"We get it," Jake and Noah said quietly and left.

"Brother Feng, you are really great," Lu Lian said and left.

"We all agree," Jiang Yang added to which everyone nodded.

"He is not being great but seems angry about something and taking out on anyone who gives

him a chance," An Tain spoke.

"Angry? for what?" Jiang Yang asked.

"What can make a man like him volatile like a fuelled oil?"

"His woman."

"You got it then."

Jiang Yang looked at Lu Feng, "What did she do this time?"

"Ming your won business," Lu Feng said coldly and ignored his friend. "We shall leave. It's

late."

Once Jake and Noah returned to Drawing room, changed in fresh clothes, everyone set to

leave.
